Colors show Molkki, features Amar Upadhyay and Priyal Mahajan in the lead roles and is currently one of the most popular shows, and also stands for a cause trying to make a difference and urge people to stop the tradition of Molkki. And now, it looks like the show has brought about a change after all, and a fan informed him about the change in a village in Rajasthan.
Amar, while talking about the same, told The Times of India and said how he has been here for a long and has observed how society is a reflection of what happens in television and films. He feels that they try to show what is happening in society and though it might get over-dramatic, it is for the entertainment value.
He adds, ''It is the responsibility of the makers also at times to show something responsible that can improve the surroundings and address the wrong things around us. Molkki is based on a very good subject which talks about the reality that is happening in Haryana and it has been around for ages. And nobody is ready to stop it or improve whatever is happening or point out the torture these girls are going through. And with the news that came in through one of my fans where they stopped the Molkki tradition after watching our show. And that was the biggest news and that was the biggest achievement of the makers (Balaji Telefilms) Colors and me as an actor. The sarpanch of the panchayat wants to be like me, and that is the biggest compliment I have ever received. Including the Mukhiya and the entire panchayat wants to be like Virendra Pratap Singh, and I think I have got my due as an actor. And I feel more and more villages should come forward and at least stop the torture happening on these girls due to the Molkki pratha. I am super happy and charged after I got this news and I am motivated ten times more to give my best as an actor and so that it should somewhere touch people's hearts."
He further also expressed how he is worried about the girls who have gotten stuck in the trap of this tradition and wishes that people stop it in every village. While he added that he feels sad for those who have had to get married under certain circumstances, he hopes they get inspired and fight against their husbands and take a stand. He added how it is his job as an actor to portray the role well and when things come into notice, there isn't anything more that an actor wishes for in return.

It's a big achievement for serial. As Amar says, he got his dues. That's true. What would be better if a show stops a wrong practice.
