Bollywood's latest supernatural horror-thriller, Shaitaan, starring the powerhouse trio of Ajay Devgn, Jyotika, and R Madhavan, has cast its spell on the domestic box office since its release on March 8. Directed by Vikas Bahl, the film's spine-chilling narrative has resonated well with audiences, evident in its robust box office performance over the weekend.
According to insights from Sacnilk.com, Shaitaan amassed an impressive estimated Rs 53 crore nett in India during its opening weekend. The film commenced its theatrical journey with a strong start, raking in Rs 14.75 crore nett on Friday. The momentum continued to build on Saturday, with collections soaring to Rs 18.75 crore. Shaitaan maintained its stride as the weekend culminated, adding an estimated Rs 20 crore to its kitty on Sunday, showcasing an overall 36.24 percent Hindi occupancy.
Shaitaan's box office prowess is poised to continue its reign in theatres until March 15. However, looming on the horizon is a formidable opponent in the form of Sidharth Malhotra and Disha Patani's Yodha, set to hit the screens on that date.

His previous venture, Bholaa, opposite Tabu, opened with a commendable Rs 11 crore and went on to accumulate a staggering Rs 90 crore overall. Preceding Bholaa, Ajay's Drishyam 2 enjoyed immense success, setting high expectations for Shaitaan.
While Shaitaan mirrored the opening day box office figures of Drishyam 2, it slightly trailed on the second day, with Drishyam 2 notching up Rs 21.59 crore.
Directed by Vikas Bahl and presented by Jio Studios, Devgn Films, and Panorama Studios, Shaitaan is produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak. Serving as the Hindi remake of the 2023 Gujarati horror film Vash, written and directed by Krishnadev Yagnik, Shaitaan promises to keep audiences at the edge of their seats with its supernatural thrills and suspenseful storytelling.
