Actors talk about International Anti - Women Violence Day!

On this day, our TV actors talk about the safety and security of the women.

On this  International Anti - Women Violence Day, our TV actors talk about women progressing and what laws should be implemented to make them feel secured and safe. While many heinous incidents have occurred in our country, its time to put our foot down and do something for women who enlightens each and every house.

Let's see what actors have shared -

Karan Suchak poses for the media at the Launch of Singhasan Battisi
Karan Suchak, currently seen essaying the role of VikramAditya in Sony Pal's Singhasan Battisi says -

Violence or Abuse can be physical, sexual, emotional, economic, psychological etc. I think women are already doing their best; have lately seen many of them being a part of self defense institute and following basic precautions like keeping their mobile charged, not taking unknown route et al. If still in spite of all this, if women are still suffering then its time to spread awareness and educate men, preference for boys in roots of India which needs to change and that is where all it starts from. Spreading awareness and educating men who are stuck in gender inequalities and power imbalance which are major factor which promotes Violence. Educate Men for women Safety if needed women are still not safe of course.

Ankit Gupta

A recent survey shows that approximately 94% women are unsafe in India. So I would ask all women to be alert. Listen to your instinct and don’t rely on an unknown person. Avoid indulging into any issue unnecessarily. Lastly I would like to say that there is a very good advertisement which says ye mat sikhao ke ladke rote nahi but ye sikhao ki ladke rulaate nahi. This message should be followed by each male.

The first thing that needs to be done is to train our kids to respect every women. So that our future generations won't face any problems. It's sad to see that a lot of men object women for various things and restraining them. Our law has to be very strict for people who misbehave with them. Women have never been safe in our country. But the good part is that the awareness has increased and women are raising their voice. In fact today a lot of men are standing up for them. I think that we just need a collective effort in our society for awareness.

Gunjan Utreja

'Safety of women' is in itself a vast issue. Are we talking about only harsh crimes against women or other kinds of abuses towards girl and women of all ages. Committed by people who are known to them or unknown to them. Though law enforcement is a strong remedy but I feel it's high time that men / boys, need to change their perspective. It has to start from home and schools. Remember we used to have moral science class in school. Its high time we have a chapter on Respecting women. The issue is for the boys/ men in our society; eve teasing is more of an entertainment than a crime. and unintentionally we are passing on the same culture to the younger generations.  Before 'swach bharat' campaign most of the people would litter. But now at least people are aware than before. Why can't we have similar campaigns. We have debates on news channels on these issues only when a heinous crimes are committed. Auch issues don't need debates but awareness.

I think its the men who need to respect a woman's space and her dignity, till that happens all women should know they have a lot more power within themselves than what they think off. To be honest in our country I don't think anyone's safe. There's too much happening around to ignore. Message would be to respect women and be kind in general.

Well said Ankit Gupta.
Women have a wonderful gift called "girls conscience" or "girls instinct" which never goes wrong. Unfortunately many ignore them or sideline them under external pressures and take these instincts as just fears or unreasonable apprehensions. How much ever filmy it may sound, but instincts never go wrong.

Also, loved how Ankit Gupta brought up that advertisement and it's tagline and alos not to indulge in unnecessary issues.
Kudos to him.
