As Ganesh Utasv has begun, our TV stars talk about their fondest memory and seek blessings from the beloved Bappa.

Ashish Sharma aka Rudra of Rangrasiya and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa contestant said:

"Ganeshji has blessed me with a lot of happiness and success in life; it has been a wonderful year so far. This festival holds high importance for both Archana and me; we will be celebrating together with family and friends once again. There is a magical spell around all of us which beckons us to come out and rejoice and celebrate and make merry. I pray to Bappa to bless us with good health, make me a stronger person and spread positive energy all around."

Karan Tacker, Jhalak Dikhhla contestant said:

"Like every year Punes Dagrusheth will be visiting my home again. From the decor to the mithai to food is all done by my mother and sister. It's a beautiful time for all my family and friends to come together and take blessings from Bappa"

Mouni Roy, Jhalak Dikhhla contestant said:

"Ganesh Chaturthi is that festival when everyone across the country is busy with plans and preparations to make the festival a special one. While I do not particularly bring the idol at home, I do ensure I celebrate with friends. , I urge people to opt for eco-friendly idols and avoid any harm to our environment."

Shakti Arora aka Ranvir of Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi, said:

"Ganpati has always been a festival that the entire family celebrates together. It is that time when all our cousins, uncles, aunts ensure we spend time together. Also, last year we had an eco-friendly idol, this year too we plan to follow the same. I have been visiting Lalbaugcha Raja since the past four-five years and will seek his blessings this time around as well."

Radhika Madan aka Ishaani of Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi said:

"Since I have never been a part of Ganpati celebrations, I'm really excited to be part of the festivities in Mumbai this year. I've always seen this festival in movies or television, this time I will be accompanying my co-actor Shakti to the famous Lalbaugcha Raja and seek his blessings. The city is buzzing and full of life, I'm sure it will be a beautiful experience."

Sunil Grover aka Gutthi of Comedy Nights With Kapil said:

"Ganpati is the Lord of Riddhi-Siddhi and a blessing for new beginnings. There is great energy in the air with everyone celebrating the home-coming of their favourite idol. It is a festival that brings people together. I remember when we used to go to my masi's place for Ganpati. All of us cousins used to gather at her house and have fun till late in the night. My favourite part was the huge jar of ladoos that I used to take home and lap it up within a month's time, savouring the taste."

Preetika Rao aka Aaliya of Beintehaa said:

"During Ganesh Utsav, we do not bring the Ganpati idol home but my mother keeps a silver Ganesha idol in the mandir only during this festival and has been doing a puja for the last five years."

Avika Gor aka Roli of Sasural Simar Ka said:

"While we do not bring the Ganpati idol home, we always celebrate with family. A lot of my relatives bring the Vighnaharta at home, he is the reason we re-unite on this joyous occasion. I seek his blessings when I visit pandals across India each year. But I do ensure I visit Lalabaugcha Raja without fail. It is the festival to spread love and joy, an ode to auspicious new beginnings."

Sanaya IraniSanaya Irani aka Myrah of Rangrasiya said:

Ganesh Chaturthi brings with it a feeling of happiness and peace. We welcome and celebrate the festival every year. Our family has been following the tradition of bringing a Ganesha idol home since the past few years. This tradition started with my sister who always carried an idol of Ganeshji with her. Our celebrations are very warm and affectionate as we spend the day with family and only limited close friends attending. Each year I make sure to take the day off from work and celebrate this auspicious day with Ganeshji.

Neha Pednekar aka Alka of Shastri Sisters said:

Ganesh Chaturthi signifies new beginnings for me. That does not mean leaving your past behind, but learning from your past and incorporating those lessons in new beginnings. I love visiting not only my relatives' places but also pandals to have a look at the aesthetically designed idols. I am eagerly looking forward to the Ganpati festivities this year!

Ishita Ganguly aka Anushka of Shastri Sisters said:

"Since I hail from Kolkata, I have not really celebrated the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi before. Bombay is a city that has cohesiveness engrained in its culture and Ganesh Chaturthi, I have learnt is the evidence to that. I am certainly excited to experience the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi in Mumbai."

Sonal Vengurlekar aka Devyani of Shastri Sisters said:

"My family and I bring Ganpati bappa home every year for a day and a half. My most favourite part of the festival is playing host to all the guests who grace our home to worship the idol. The festival is a blessing in disguise because I get to meet relatives and friends who I have not seen in a while. I love the magnificence during the last day Ganesh Chaturthi - the visarjan!"

Pragati Chourasiya aka Peeya of Shastri Sisters said:

"Since I am a big foodie, I look forward to all the goodies I can get my hands on during the Ganpati season. For me, the festival signifies hope and faith. The faith with which worshippers take blessings from the Lord, I believe, is their wish fulfilled halfway. The hope that people bestow in the Lord returning next year to bless their homes is tremendous. I love how this festival takes the level of Bombay's vibrant energy another notch higher."
