Actor Ashish Kapoor expresses gratitude to judicial system

Television actor Ashish Kapoor, who was arrested last month on allegations of raping a woman during a house party in Delhi, has recently been granted bail by the Tis Hazari Court. The case had drawn significant public attention, and the actor’s release has once again sparked discussions around the ongoing legal proceedings.

Following his bail, Ashish took to Instagram to share his relief and gratitude. Posting through the stories section, he wrote, 'Following the recent incident, I’m filled with a deep sense of relief & gratitude. This experience has been a powerful reminder of the strength of our democracy & the principles enshrined in our constitution.'

He further emphasized his faith in the Indian judicial system, stating, 'I have full faith in the legal system, and this outcome has only strengthened that belief. The diligent work of everybody ensured that justice was served, and the truth was brought to light. This is a testament that truth will always prevail.'

The actor also thanked everyone who stood by him during the difficult period. In another note, Ashish shared, 'I want to thank everyone who supported me during this tough time & express my profound appreciation for a system that protects the rights of every citizen.'His words reflected both relief and gratitude as he resumed normalcy following weeks of controversy.

The case began in August 2025 when a 24-year-old woman from Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh, who works in a private firm, filed a complaint against Kapoor and others. She alleged that during a house party, her drink was spiked, which caused her to lose consciousness. According to her initial statement, Kapoor, his friend, and two unidentified men allegedly assaulted her sexually, while another woman physically attacked her. The complaint further mentioned that the incident was filmed, and she was threatened that the video would be released online.

Initially, the police registered the case as gang rape. However, the woman later revised her statement, claiming that Ashish Kapoor alone had raped her. Following this, the case was amended from gang rape to rape charges.

The investigation is still ongoing, and while Kapoor’s bail has given him temporary relief, the legal process continues. The outcome of the trial will determine the final course of justice in this case.
