Actor Ashish Kapoor faces medical test amid rape allegations, reports to be used as crucial evidence

Television actor, Ashish Kapoor was arrested on rape charges following a woman's accusation of sexual assault. According to a recent report, he underwent a medical potency test on Friday, considered crucial evidence in the case.

According to news agency ANI, the test was conducted at AIIMS. The Delhi Police said, "This report will be used as crucial evidence against him in the alleged rape case."

Initially, the complainant alleged that Ashish Kapoor, the party host, along with two unidentified men and a woman, were involved in the assault. However, the complainant later amended her statement, solely implicating Kapoor in the rape.

The case, initially categorized as gang rape, is now expected to be reclassified as rape. The complainant also claimed that the incident was recorded, but no footage has been recovered by investigators. Authorities have stated that Kapoor connected with the complainant on Instagram before the party, where the alleged assault occurred.

Following an August 11 FIR that named Kapoor, his friend, his friend's wife, and two unknown men, the complainant revised her statement on August 18. She accused Kapoor and his friend of rape, and the woman of assault. Despite this, Kapoor's friend and his wife were granted anticipatory bail on August 21.

Investigators have found that CCTV footage and witness statements confirm that Kapoor and the woman entered a washroom together at the party, which raised concerns among other guests. A heated argument followed, which continued outside the venue. Police confirmed that the host's wife ultimately reported the incident via a PCR call. Legal proceedings are ongoing, with Kapoor facing rape charges. The investigation is still active.

A senior police officer stated while talking to HT, “The team has been looking for him. He was earlier traced to Goa, but when the team reached, he slipped away. He was then traced to Pune, where he was found living with a friend and was arrested on Tuesday.” The incident came to light on August 11 when the victim, a Gurugram-based professional, reported the assault.
