TV actor Ashish Kapoor granted bail in an alleged rape case; Here’s the specific conditions he has to follow

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai star Ashish Kapoor, has been granted bail by the Tis Hazari Court in Delhi in the alleged rape case, with certain conditions. He was arrested in Pune on rape charges after a woman accused him of sexual assault during a Delhi house party in August, as confirmed by the police on September 3. He underwent a medical potency test on September 5.

"Thus, in view of the aforesaid observations and discussions, the facts and circumstances that have been brought to the notice of the court in view of the documents/ CCTV footages, in particular that the accused is not required for the purpose of investigation any more, being permanent resident of Delhi and his clean antecedents, I find merits in the bail application and the same is accordingly allowed," ASJ Singh ordered on September 10.

The court pointed out the lapses in the investigation and said, "Despite having been taken on PC remand, no sincere efforts were made to recover the mobile phone. No searches, as per the law, were carried out. There is nothing on record that the accused did not cooperate in the investigations."

Specific conditions for Ashish

Ashish Kapoor's bail comes with conditions: he must keep his mobile phone active with location services on, and his bail is set on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh. The actor has yet to comment on the matter.

Allegations on Ashish

In August 2025, a 24-year-old woman from Delhi's Punjabi Bagh, working for a private firm, accused a group of drugging and gang-raping her at a party. She claimed her drink was spiked, leading to her losing consciousness and the subsequent assault.

The woman initially reported that Ashish Kapoor, his friend, and two unidentified men sexually assaulted her, while another woman physically attacked her, and the incident was filmed with threats of online release. Later, she revised her statement, alleging rape by Kapoor alone. The case, initially registered as gang rape, will be amended to a rape charge.
