Sharing his childhood memories, Vikas says, “I was in boarding school from the age of 5, so my childhood memories of Diwali week are all from Welham Boys' school, Dehradun. During those days, celebrations were all about crackers and bombs. I remember that we used to split teams, put ‘timers’ on rockets by peeling off some of the ‘masala’ from the thread and throw them at each other - reckless, and totally not recommended. After landing on the ground, the rocket would take off in any random direction and we’d be running for life. I used to have a lot of fun.”

Vikas further adds,”My Diwali has become much quieter and this year also  it’s about diyas and lamps and celebrationwith family. That crackers thing was done during childhood, but now I understand the importance of celebrating the festival peacefully and noise-free.”

Professionally, Vikas Kumar is known for his performances as ACP Khan in the International Emmy Awards nominated Aarya, senior inspector Rajat in CID, Abhay in Hamid, Major Prem in Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran, YRF TV's Khotey Sikkey and for his work as dialogue coach in Hindi films like Ishqiya, Shakuntala Devi and Udaan.
