Credit for this fundraiser goes to Aamir's son, Junaid, who came up with the concept and organisation of this cricket match along with his college club. Papa Aamir, who is making waves with his own launch of cause oriented TV debut, Satyamev Jayate, got excited about his favourite sport being played for a charity and went the extra mile involving others from the cinema fraternity to support the noble cause!
The event, registered under the name Junoon is supported by EVE Foundation (Empowering Villages Everywhere), Cricket Club of India and Rotaract Club of HR College. Capital raised from the sale of the tickets will be used entirely for provision of prosthetics (artificial limbs) to the disabled living in the rural district of Satara, Maharashtra.
The celebrity team boasts of names like Atul Kulkarni, Sharman Joshi, Sohail Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Prateik Babbar, Rani Mukherjee, Aftab Shivdasani, Dilip Joshi, Eesha Koppikar, Disha Vankani, Maanav Gohil, HR College Principal Dr. Indu Shahani among others, while their opposition will host a team of players hobbling on crutches, wearing callipers, and others amputees. However, this team has requested the celebrity team to refrain from offering them unfair advantages to uphold the intention of hosting the event itself.
Shiamak Davar's extremely talented physically disabled dance troupe will entertain the crowd with their performance, while DJ Shaan's Blind Band will be spinning music throughout the event.
BollyCurry salutes to the efforts of celebrities who strive to make a difference!
