Aamir blames media for exaggerating his comment on intolerance!

A lot has been said and done lately regarding the issue of 'intolerance' and one prominent statement concerning the same was made by Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan in one of his interviews, where he said his wife Kiran Rao was worried about their children's safety and if they should leave India.

Aamir's statement enraged the nation and attracted a lot of negative comments and much criticism. He was also replaced as the ambassador of the Incredible India campaign.

Today at the celebration of the completion of 10 years of Rang De Basanti, when Aamir was asked in the press conference about his previous statement on intolerance, he said, "People were misled on my comment that I said I wanted to leave India. I would blame media for this to a certain extent. Wrong information was disseminated for me."

He further added, "It is understandable. If somebody says he wants to leave the country, I will also feel hurt. I am a patriotic person. It is not that I want to leave the country. I can’t even stay outside the country for more than 2 weeks."

When asked about his wife Kiran's reaction about his controversial ststement, he said, “I shouldn’t have quoted what she told me in private."

Finally Amir Khan has realized at age past 50 years - not to say things which his wife (whom he things is the most intelligent on the planet) mentioned to him in private. Aamir needs to stop quoting his wife her quotes may not be as intelligent or sensitive as he thinks!

Media just conveyed your message to the masses...and that too straight from your mouth...it was social media where the people of India expressed what they felt...like you other citizens of India have also right to say/feel on what you said...media/junta also gives you overwhelming appreciation for your movies and you as a person...then no complain.

i think it was disgusting how indians and media treated him after this whole thing and they just proved his point because people were calling him pakistani so yea.

now that kajol and karan johar have said the same thing about insensitivity in india no one has said shit but here we are burning aamir at the stake.

Intolerance my foot! Please come to America Mr. Amir Khan and watch Mr. Donald Trump quote how he will deport all Muslims out of the US. If that is not intolerance I don't know what is.

No, that's not true! We read the whole IV and saw on TV, you were not quoted out of context Aamir. Media is not at fault here.
