Even though it is all about COVID-19 in the past year and a half and so on, the institution and celebration attached to marriages has still been prevalent but on a much-smaller scale. Many couples have gotten married but marriage is not on the mind of actor Aalika Shaikh. The actor, who is seen in Mann Kee Awaz Pratigya 2 has been dating actor Rohin Robert for 8 years now and is, in fact, in a live-in relationship with him.
Talking about it with ETimes TV, Shaikh said, “When we first met, I was in a relationship with somebody, but things weren't going well at all and we split. Rohin proposed to me but I told him I wanted to stay single for a while. That's when he suggested that we live together as friends. Gradually things progressed between us; he was the one who put in a lot of effort."
It was only today that they completed 8 years together and marriage is indeed something they don't discuss. “When I started dating Rohin, the first thing I told him was that we wouldn't talk about marriage. I said the day we get married, I will run away for sure! I am very sacred of marriage. So till today he hasn't touched the topic,” she says, adding, “We are in a live-in relationship and we live as husband and wife, but there is a fear in me which I cannot explain. The stamp of marriage is something I don’t need right now. In thr future, I don’t if I will change my mind, but not right now.”
Their parents want them to tie the knot, but they have never put any pressurise on them for this.
“They just want us to be happy. My mother got to know that I'm the one who doesn't want to get married, but she isn't saying much because she knows I won't listen. All parents want their kids to get married, it's only natural” she added.

So basically the guy has little to no authority in the relationship. Got it! He’s a simp.
