The sudden and unfortunate demise of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput in June 2020 transpired into a whirlwind of controversies. Right from an alleged suicide case, his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty being accused of abetment to suicide, to a drug coming to the surface, a lot rolled out and top agencies like the Central Bureau of Investigation, Enforcement Directorate and Narcotics Control Bureau are still probing the case.
Besides the investigation, the death case also became a matter of interest for many filmmakers and creators who have expressed their desire to produce content on Rajput’s case.
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who celebrates his birthday today was asked if he is interested in making a film on the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. While speaking to ETimes, RGV said:
"It might, or it might not. There are so many things to choose from, on a relative level, for me, at least. I think I might even take it up.”
The director had found himself in a soup when he had supported Rhea Chakraborty on social media during the time she faced a media trial and was accused of harassing Sushant. Speaking of the same, he says:
"As far as social media is concerned, I don’t know what happened to the Sushant Singh Rajput case, I think people have forgotten. I don’t know what happened to Rhea Chakraborty too. I think social media has become a circus. They make a lot of noise and then forget."
Unbothered by social media trolls, Ram Gopal Varma says that “Twitter is just a platform for barking dogs” and he will continue to express his opinions irrespective of the reactions.
On the professional front, the director has as many as three films that he is working on. Apart from ‘D-Company’, that was recently postponed, he is working on a martial arts film and another one called ‘Demons’.

No one has forgotten about ssr or his case. As for making a movie, I find BW hypocritical here... while he was alive they didn't give him the recognition and now want to milk money using his name after his death?
