Nawazuddin Siddique, as we know, shot to fame after his role in Peepli Live and the power packed performance in Gangs of Wasseypur. Though being a phenomenal actor and even alumni of National School of Drama (NSD), it was not a cake walk for him in the industry.

Here we have 7 movies in which he played 'blink and miss' roles that we are not very aware of but gave a push to his career.

1.       Sarfarosh (1999)

In this Aamir Khan starrer, Nawaz got his first break as his debut film. He played the role of one of the local criminals taken for interrogation. He said in an interview, "My first ever film was with Aamir. I had a 50 second role in Sarfarosh.  Aamir recommended me for Peepli Live and Talash."

2.       Jungle (2000)

In Ram Gopal Varma's thriller starring Urmila Matondkar and Fardeen Khan, Nawazuddin acted as a 'khabri' or a dacoit informer.

3.       Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. (2003)

The epic comedy of Rajkumar Hirani with Arshad Warsi and Sanjay Dutt playing leads has Nawaz playing a pickpockter. He was seen pickpocketing Sunil Dutt's wallet and then got caught by Sanjay.

4.       Aaja Nachle (2007)

We all know that Irrfan Khan and Nawazuddin are known to be in the same league of actors now. But this wasn't the case in the early stages of his career. In this comeback movie of Madhuri Dixit Nene, Nawaz played the servant of Irrfan Khan's role, Farooque.

5.       Manorama Six Feet Under (2007)

This thriller starring Abhay Deol and Gul Panag too has seen Nawaz playing a side role of a local goon who was sent to kill Abhay Deol's character. He was seen wearing flashy shades and acting all cool. Sounds familiar right? (Think of Gangs of Wasseypur).

6.       Ek Chalis Ki Last Local (2007)

Yes, even in this Abhay Deol film Nawaz played the role of a 'Charasi' or a druggie in the bar where Abahy Deol goes for gambling.

7.       Dev D (2009)

We all remember the infamous song of the film, 'Emotional Atyachar'. But do we remember seeing Nawazuddin in it? Well, he was a part of the song in a special appearance.

""How can someone with such looks make it big in an industry obsessed with fairness?" you ask." said Nawazuddin. But he made his way through the industry and is doing very well. All we can learn from him his perseverance and his 'never give up' attitude.

His next film, Raman Raghav 2.0 is set to premiere at Cannes Film Festival this year and will release in India on June 24th.

We wish him a very Happy Birthday and lots best wishes!
