Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si Plot
Vandana Karmarkar shares her home with her father, Vijay, her aunt, her younger sister, Mrunal, her elder brother, Hemant, his wife, Anagha, and their child, Shivam. She’s been in a committed relationship with Vaibhav for five years and is on the verge of marrying him. She dreams of becoming a playback singer, and Vandana auditions for a role. Meanwhile, Kunal Malhotra, who harbours disdain for India, must scout for new talent in Mumbai. Upon hearing Vandana’s singing, he detests it and discourages her from pursuing a career in playback singing. However, Vandana vows to prove herself.
Kunal’s life is intertwined with his aunt Pammi, who has been like a mother to him, her good-natured son Bobby, a social media star, and her husband. They decide to move in with Kunal, who becomes Vandana’s neighbour. A troubling incident occurs when Vandana is mistreated by a prospective employer, leaving her distraught. Kunal witnesses her distress and confronts the employer, who falsely accuses Vandana. Knowing Vandana’s integrity, Kunal defends her honour, resulting in a physical altercation with the employer and the termination of a potential business deal.
During a party at the Malhotras’, tensions rise between the Karmarkars and Kunal’s father, Kuldeep. Insults are exchanged, leading to a confrontation between Vandana and Kuldeep, which Kunal observes. In retaliation, Kunal decides to make life difficult for Vandana’s family, eventually buying and evicting them from their home. He offers them a chance to stay on the condition that Vandana works as his assistant.
Amidst these events, a secret affair between Mrunal and Vaibhav unfolds. Kunal discovers the affair but struggles to find the right moment to inform Vandana. Hemant and Anagha also learn about it but remain silent due to financial pressures. The affair continues despite Vandana’s aunt pleading with Vaibhav to end it.
On the day of Vandana and Vaibhav’s wedding, Kunal attempts to expose the affair but is unsuccessful. The marriage proceeds, and Vandana requests Kunal to stay out of her life. However, a medical revelation that Vandana cannot conceive leads to her leaving her marital home in shock. She encounters Kunal and Bobby, and the trio heads to work together. That day, Vandana rescues a young girl named Tara from an accident and forms a close bond.
Soniya, Kunal’s wife, and Indraneel, his former best friend, arrive to announce Soniya’s intention to divorce Kunal and marry Indraneel, leaving Tara in Kunal’s care. Initially resistant, Kunal eventually accepts Tara after Vandana steps in to help. When Tara is kidnapped and rescued by Kunal and Vandana, Kunal realizes Soniya’s lack of responsibility and decides to raise Tara himself. Accepting his role as a father, Kunal finalizes his divorce with Soniya.
Upon discovering the affair, Vandana divorces Vaibhav and expels Mrunal from the house. Soniya wrongfully accuses Kunal and Vandana of infidelity, causing a rift between them. Kunal, in his anguish, forbids Vandana from seeing Tara. However, when Tara suffers an allergic reaction, Vandana rushes her to the hospital, proving her maternal instincts. Recognizing Vandana’s potential as a mother to Tara, Kunal proposes marriage.
Meanwhile, Vaibhav and Anagha’s sinister plot to murder Vijay for inheritance is thwarted by Vandana, resulting in Vaibhav’s arrest. Despite the turmoil, Vijay rejects Kunal as a suitable partner for Vandana, threatening disownment. In retaliation, Mrunal conspires with Soniya, leading to Vandana’s public defamation. Kunal steps in to shield Vandana and uncovers the source of the slander.
6 Months Later
After a six-month separation, Kunal returns from London, marries Vandana and confronts new challenges. Soniya, fleeing from an abusive relationship, seeks refuge with Kunal, but her envy towards Vandana’s happiness leads to further discord. During Tara’s birthday, a misunderstanding causes Kunal to doubt Vandana’s parenting, but she quickly demonstrates her dedication, earning Kunal’s apology.
A shocking accident reveals Kunal’s mother, Vani, who was presumed gone by the deceit of Kuldeep, Kunal’s father. Suffering from memory loss, Vani becomes a new resident of the Malhotra household, adding another layer to the family’s complex dynamics.
