- Well I might be the "only" person with a different feeling here.
- I don't "personally" feel the show lost it's "trps" because of the"family drama".
- Because if we carefully look at the "trps graph": "the show started with 1.3 in the first week, 1.1 in the next two weeks (2nd & 3rd), 1.0 in the 4th and 0.9 in 5th (which was the lowest)"
- And if we re-watch the episodes, there was more family drama in the first two-three weeks and more of "Amrita drama" in the 4th and "Kabir-Meera" in 5th.
- So that means the viewers of zmga connected more with the family drama which did have a lot of "realistic touch": "the miserable condition of middle-class families due to a sudden death of one of their loved-ones in corona, the emotional turmoil which the other family members face and how they try to handle it with a smile, the financial breakdown of the family and the emotional/financial distress of the next son (which was Angad here) on whom the whole family's responsibility is suddenly put"
- It shows the viewers of zmga got connected to the "uniqueness" in the show which was it's "portrayal of reality".
- Because if they wanted to see only "romance", they could see it anywhere, every "other ITV show" has it.
- Imo, the CVs need not have listened to those who were constantly whining about the "slow pace" and wanting to watch the "romance" of leads.
- Yes the CVs should listen to "some of the positive criticism" yet they should be"witty" enough to understand which will do "good" to their show and "which will not".
- If zmga viewers had only wanted to watch "Amritam story and romance" then why did the trps decrease in the "ludhiana track"? Imo, that track gave the maximum "screen presence of Amritam together".
- So, it's clear that the viewers of zmga didn't want to see only "Amritam romancing each other". Yes "romance" is essential for every show yet it should not be the only thing to be explored especially in family shows.
- Imo, the major "drawback" of zmga CVs happened with "sketching Amrita's character". They shouldn't have tried to make her the "overperfect ITV FL".
- That attitude of Amrita made her so "toxic" towards Pritam. I personally never felt "any difference" between "Amrita" and the"usual toxic ITV MLs".
- What I personally found worst was there were certain specimens who always "abused" Raghav Rao of mhrw and few other MLs because they misbehaved with the FLs because of their "tragic past".
- Yet here the same specimens were "justifying" Amrita that she is misbehaving with Pritam because of her "tragic past". Nonsense!
- I have no issues with people turning "arrogant or bitter" because of their "tragic past" because that happens even in "reality".
- Yet my issue was that Amrita always used Pritam to vent out all her "arrogance, bitterness and frustration" which is not at all "realistic". Because in "reality" people don't do such things on "strangers" but on their very "loved-ones". Yet Amrita was like she wanted to keep her "overperfect image" in front of her family so she used Pritam like her toy.
- And that made a lot of difference because in other shows too the "toxic MLs" do "misbehave" with the FLs yet "the most important point to be noted" is that it is not only "directed to the FLs alone". Those MLs are "arrogant and bitter" to almost to every other character.
- So, imo, the "major drawback" of zmga CVs happened with "sketching Amrita's character".
- The next drawback was with "Kabir-Meera" pairing as the week 5 was more "focused" on them and it was there the most "dip" in "trps" happened. As I have said several times, the CVs should have straight introduced them as a pair without taking the "Bhabhiji ghar par hai" route.
- Imo, if the CVs were facing too much of "pressure from the fandom" which again I personally feel were actually misleading them.
- Then they should have made zmga purely on "Amritam" just for a few weeks and shift the "family drama" along with the "parallel leads" to some "small spin-off series" just for a few weeks in the 5:30 pm slot because that slot was always free after mhrw went off-air.
- I mean it could have given the CVs an idea where they should put more "efforts" to gain trps in the "right way" without taking the "usual ITV dramatic route" like they did since the delivery week.
- I was just suggesting. I know I am no-one to decide things about a show yet just like any other viewer I was only giving my opinions on what could have helped the show stay alive without losing it's essence for a deserved period.
- Anyhow, there's no use in saying anything now. I personally feel it was a "good" decision to "wrap up zmga" than "butcher it's original essence more as they did since the delivery week" by shifting it to 5:30 and trying to get trps.
- Because that is what the mhrw CVs did and by doing that they won't win trps but "hatred" from the viewers who were once the "real admirers of the show".
- I wish good luck to all the "cast & crew" of zmga. May they be able to do "good healthy content shows" and "acheive success" in the "right" way.
