Very valid points @TM! The show has started off on a heart wrenching note with a very good plot and realistic background. I too really appreciate that the pandemic and its devastating consequences have been acknowledged by this show. This should be the new normal for any serial going ahead.

Amrita losing her husband to Covid and the family not being able to give him a proper farewell in death is the reality which households across country have been facing till date and possibly would continue to do so. It is true that families are struggling to secure ashes post the cremation. What's worse, you are not even sure if the ashes you receive is of your dear one and are forced to be content with what you get.

Coming to the episode, I loved the comic elements throughout. Beginning from Dadaji (Sudhir Pandey always gets to play such comic roles right since SGP😆) to the guy playing Kabir, it was a typical ITV styled Punjabi family based in Delhi. I was really intrigued by the promos and with the heart rendering title track, this show was a sure shot at trial for me, despite the channel being SP! And that is the only drawback for this show at this point. 😵 Moreover, it is Esha Kansara!

Precap - The medical professionals and all the frontline workers who have been hailed throughout the pandemic, have also faced severe abuse from the thankless and ungrateful public. I have come across instances in nearby housing societies where the healthcare professionals were not allowed into their own homes by the residents and these people had to start living in the hospitals they work for. This is the saddest part of it all where you are not welcome in your own residential area while the same residents go gaga over SM appreciating and 'standing up' for frontline workers.

P.S.: Everyone, this is Anusha here! 🤗

This show highlighted how hypocritic people really are!! The doctors and front line workers who were fighting the deadly disease risking their lives were not shown any civility but were abused and accused for spreading the disease and these are the so called people who gives likes to the FB post praising doctors!! 😡

The first epi was definitely a nice difference from SP's regular shows. I had the same feeling as you Arpita, that this show seems to be like Tum Saath Ho Jab Aapne (at least he has a similar role).

The first epi began with a nice light-hearted touch though with Karan's death hanging over everyone. Still it was nice to see that the entire family is realistic (at least so far). Hopefully they don't decide to make someone into a vamp/villain just for the sake of TRPs.

And I definitely like how they are showing the effect of the pandemic on families. When they said that the mother is just asking for her son's ashes, I had a feeling it would be about the pandemic, but I didn't think it would be about the doctors and nurses. I thought he would just be a normal guy (a businessman as ITV usually loves to show) who contracted COVID-19, but I'm glad that they are showing this other side of the coin for once.

Of course, the fact that they didn't show his death or his ashes makes me wonder if the channel will use the return of Karan for TRPs. I hope not, but you can never trust them. 🤔

@bold - I am skeptical about this too. If they do that, it would actually be offensive to all those real life frontline warriors' families who lost their dear ones. I only hope the channel is sensitive enough not to troll the bereaved by bringing in such a track.

Btw, good to see you here Shreya! 🤗

I think as with many indian tv shows: it will depend on the chemistry between the leads that will make this story a success. A good chemistry between the leads along with a good story make for a very good serial.

I know its only one episode: however it will be interesting to see how the lead couple fall for each other and how the ML takes of Amrita's child aswell as her knowing the kid isnt his. I cant wait to watch that track especially.

Btw u can call me sal here in the UK. I watch Ghum, MHRW, YHC, KRPKAB and udaariyaan (even though i am on a break with udaariyan after the rubbish story they are showing at the minute the characters).

Agreed with the bolded. They can't just do that. Even with a fake twin or villain taking on Karan's face stupidity. That would make a mockery of frontline workers and if they are going to have a serial about frontline workers and their families, then treat them with respect, especially at a time when they are already being treated badly.

Good to see you as well! 🤗
