That’s their nature, sacrificing their own happiness for others. After marriage the equation changed, both care too much about their families, about EO’s family and will jeopardize their marriage to keep both families happy. Like you said Yeh Rishtey not Yeh Rishta....Family is most important aspect in this show. From the beginning, Abir and Mishti have been putting their love on hold to solve KuKu problems or saving KuKu from getting hurt. I think Abir doesn’t want to leave Kunal and Mishti doesn’t want to separate Abir from his family. Don’t know why Abir thinks he can mend MishKu relationship and make them like him and Kunal. MishKu aren’t related by blood or by sisterhood. He cannot force them to love each other like himself and Kunal but probably he expects peaceful coexistence which he should realize Kuhu won’t ever accept.
If they want to uphold such noble ideals, who am I to deter them! But shouldn't they find a way to balance it out-why hold their relationship for ransom? Aren't they family for each other as well or are they pariah (can't see anything selfless in leaving each other for such bogus reasons). They often seem to forget this: their marriage, their love, their promises(to each other), their personal space. Abir is more worried about Kuhu and Mishti about BB but at the cost of jeopardising their marriage.
Right now the only problem is Meenu (not even Kuhu), so if Abir still wants to think of the larger picture and stay back, how wrong is he? And if he does leave, how right is he: Why should Kunal suffer, the brother who committed so many wrongs because his mom brainwashed him into thinking that he was doing them for Abir. The solution is for both brothers to go away from Meenu(because there is no way she's gonna mend her ways) but Abir is alone in this situation as nobody is strong enough to support him. One ishara from Kunal would make it a 100 times easier for Abir to take such a hard step. And Mishti isn't helping either.
They really need to become a strong team, work as MishBir. Come what may, saath mein saamna karo. Beech mein mat le aao.
