Nope New Zealand doesn’t have capital punishment and in fact there was public outcry about the sentences and I think law was changed for harsher punishments. They only got like 12 years ( under the guise of life imprisonment)

Yes eye for an eye and life for a life. That family was very poor and were on benefits and druggie most of them. Mum was like 36 and her boyfriend was 17. He used to sell drugs and it was a terrible neighbourhood too. The little had no chances sadly even if she had lived. Mum was clubbing whilst the kid was dying that says it all.
