But if we watched the movies after reading the books then we will feel that the essence which was in the books was lacking when it comes to movies

And jk Rowling was great but in my opinion movies havent done full justice to the book

Movies never do justice to books yaar. I feel it is not justified to do a comparison as books can be explained in detail and movies are restricted in context with time. A person has to be A class creative to show the essense of a book within a 2 or 3 hour movie.

yep even if our mind knows that our hear will be disappointed

I like Radcliffe's face but after goblet of fire his height became an issue for me.in book he was portrayed as a tall lean boy but in movie Radcliffe was of average height

I like Emma's portrayal as Hermione the most then first Dumbledore and malfoy

There was only one movie which I felt did some justice - Pet Sematary . It was as close to the book and dear lord so so scary. In fact reading the book it wasn’t that bad but it was the only horror movie which actually didn’t make me laugh.

@bold : this is exactly why POA is the best HP adaptation.. ofcourse cuaron is a superior director to Columbus and Yates and the other one..

In case of POA u will follow it even if u have not read the book.. he has made changes but tells the core story and theme of the book .. like I applaud his choice of leaving out teh entire marauders backstory.. I.love it in.the book but it's not that crucial to the overall arch of the 3rd book story which is always driven by harry .. so even though he knew he was leaving out something very close to fan's heart he did it..

And the visual changes he brought to the wizardung world just made it richer.. the shots of passage of time.. whooping willow.. and glimpses of every day magic just casually shown made the world so alive.. (like teh scenes in leaky cauldron.. a guy just sitting reading the book whereas his tea is magically stirred)

Spckally the later Yates movies felt like all fan favourite scenes put together.. like they thought if we don't knwo this scene fans will be furious..

I love Emma in 1st movie

the most.. dan in 3rd..I also like dan in 6th .. though the movie is at teh bottom of the list for me .. al in all I find all 3 fair and somewhat equal..

I overall love the casting of the series.. hagrid,1st Dumbledore, lupin and ofcourse how can we forget Alan rickman.. even flockhart.. such veteran British actors.. and they steal the show even with little..

.

I get what u say abt radcliffe .. I like him but I too found him stilted.

But I also blame the writing.. they made him one dimensional.. Ron the funny one.. harry the serious one. His personality was watered down. Harry in the books is far more interesting and multidimensional.. he can be funny.m he si sarcastic, slightly arrogant at tine.. confident and cheeky.. I love harry.. I find him absolutely engaging as a narrator..but the movie harry is in incredibly boring . Dan had done an episodes of Extras around the same time.. and he was dan funny in that.. so I do feel dan is suitable for book harry ..but well..

I never watched Dan outside hp.i like Harry's emotional vulnerability and how he made it his strength.as u correctly said its difficult to make a movie from a cult classic. The movie will always left an incomplete feeling to those who lapped up all books multiple times

I love Albus Dumbledore both in the book and the movie. Such layers he has in his character. I am looking forward to the upcoming movie as jude law and captain Jack is a awesome combo. Sorry just forgot captain Jack ka real name.
