Personally I did not change my name post marriage because to me I will always be my father's daughter and while I wish and pray for my marital life to continue as it is now, life can throw me a curve ball t any time.

ITV does not follow authenticity with any faith or religion in my observation. Besides each religion has a million different forms and customs in India , so no one can say what is authentic and what is not?

The one point that gets me though , is the lack of hijab wearing characters. Islam fully grants the freedom to accept or reject the hijab - which means many amongst it's women have willfully chosen to adorn a hijab in whatever style suits them best. So why not show it?

I have seen muslim names in which last name is not fathers... They totally can keep a whole different name like noor fathima or fathima zahra...

Here zahra is not father name n she won't change name post marriage...

Upper class i feel follow the family name like ahmeds n khans...

Agree on ITV on religion bit but mostly with hindu show they seem to be more accurate with laws n traditions etc... Some shows in fact base everything on hindu customs.. Sanskaar bahu thing...

But the basics need to be right at least... Like rebirth concept just doesn't exist for Islam..

Hijab is totally absent in many upper class Muslims these days and they wear it just on Friday namaz n maybe dargah n hajur... Here they wore dupatta during nikaah... I think that's all we will get...
