What is a Power couple?

A couple who work together towards the same goal (may not use the same way or tactics) as each other's back up.

There is an underrated, often unnoticed perfect power couple in this show.

Arjun and Poorvi? Hell no. They never worked together towards the same goal. Usually one comes up with an idea and the other executes/follows.

Arjun and Tanu? Nope. Usually, Tanu makes trouble and Arjun goes to fix it.

Neelima and her husband? No. Same equation as Arjun/Poorvi.

Then who? Arjun's parents.

I know you guys are thinking that I've gone mad. But here me out.

I have been observing them and finally I figured them out. I tell you Arjun's parents have the perfect example of Passive- Aggressive tactics. One parent threaten, blackmail, intimidate and the other cries, coddles and emotionally manipulates.

When Watan and his father threaten Nisha and forcefully gets her married, she pacifies a seething Nisha saying, "I am like your mother" and asks her to adjust. So that she doesn't make waves that upsets her way of life.

Whereas Arjun's father bad mouths Poorvi and threaten her family, Arjun's mother always praises her and shows herself as an ally.

But is she an ally to anyone other than her husband?

She imparts crucial information at a very right time. Remember when she told Arjun that his father attempted murder on Poorvi's parents? She waited until his father had a (fake) heart attack. Now who will fight with someone sick?

This is a woman who never likes to change the status quo. She wants everything to remain the same. That's why she was so concerned when she learned that Arjun fell in love with a strong woman like Poorvi because she knew Poorvi won't put up with the status quo. For that reason, once Arjun's uncle accused her once that, "You were so busy following your husband's orders that you forgot to be a mother." And I think he was bang on.

Arjun can never go against his family because every time his temper boils, his mother is there to hug, pet, praise Poorvi and remind him what a great decision he made.

This lady never lets him doubt his decision by constantly reminding him why he took that decision even though his aim to keep Poorvi happy and smiling went down the drain.

I mean I don't blame her. She has no life outside her husband and family. So it's in her best interest to maintain the status quo.

CVs should have paid more attention to this character. I think it has shades of grey.

I personally consider her as one of the most negative characters, from the moment she has started that emotional blackmailing, thereby ultimately successfully ruining an innocent girl's life for good (I'm not going into what has happened in her son's life.). She definitely very well knows how to strike the right chord at the right moment. She almost backstabbed her own son by emotionally blackmailing him at that vulnerable moment. And as it seems, being rightly pointed out by you, she would continue to do so till the end forcing Arjun never to take the right decision using his brain. So many negative characters in a single series!!! Really never seen before!!!

Arjun's uncle was very correct saying that she has forgotten how to be a mother on the day on which fake Mrigank incident happened. She never ever liked that her son has fallen for a girl with such strong personality. She should equally suffer, if not more. In fact she will, as she would be witnessing her own son's death with her own eyes; which seems to be the most probable but utterly negative ending of this story!!!

The only time I saw real feelings for her children is when Bachha Singh was performing Poonam's funeral. But after that day, she never mentioned her daughter's name or attempted to find out how she is doing. It's like she gets de-sensitized to her children.

But you know what, Chandrima. I don't blame her. Is she selfish? Yes. But then who isn't in that house? You won't survive there if you're not selfish. It's like a dog eat dog world inside. Everyone is looking out for their own interest. Arjun (& Poorvi) might have survived if he had been selfish.

But Poorvi did a too good job fixing him. Unfortunately Arjun did not realize where to apply his newly learned nature.

Poorvi's family is like a puppy. They may annoy with tiny bites and scratches from time to time but in the end, they will also cuddle and lick your wound.

Arjun's family is like a snake. Their bites and licks, both are lethal. Poorvi can be nice to her family and let her guard down. Arjun can't afford that.

Yet, that's exactly what he did and now look at the consequences. His family swallowed him whole like a Python.
