The half an hour shows will be aired from Monday to Wednesday. For the Thursday 10 pm slot, the channel will air FIR, which till now was being aired on Fridays at 8.30 pm.
The new programming lineup will replace the daily show, Bhootwala Serial, which was launched in February. According to channel officials, the show will be taken off air because it is a one of its kind show and has lived its life.
Talking to afaqs! about the new programming, Anooj Kapoor, business head, SAB, says, "With these new shows, SAB will have some of the biggest names in comedy on Indian television. We are committed to give our audience different flavours and genres of comedy with every new launch."
Thank You Jijaji (to be aired on Mondays) is a sitcom produced by Jaspal Bhatti, which will have Bhatti playing the 'Jijaji' (brother-in-law) of an IAS officer; Sonu Sweety (on Tuesdays) is a light-hearted comedy based on a husband-wife pair, starring Shweta Kwatra and Varun Badola; and Yeh Chanda Kanoon Hai (on Wednesdays) is a courtroom comedy with Juhi Parmar playing the character of Chanda Rani. It will also have Tiku Talsania and Asif Sheikh. Apart from these, there will be fresh episodes of FIR every Thursday from August 7.
In May, SAB had announced a fresh lineup of shows, and these three shows are an extension of that programming mix. Also, SAB recently launched Tedhi Baat Shekhar Ke Saath at 10.30 pm to strengthen its primetime slot. According to SAB, the new lineup is another effort to get the family experience back into television viewing.
To promote these shows, the channel is indulging in an aggressive marketing campaign that will reflect across TV, hoardings, digital screens, multiplexes, malls and hyper markets, print and road shows.
The focus for these activities will be towns with 1 million plus population in the Hindi speaking markets. According to the channel, the marketing activities to promote these shows will strongly work towards using the star power of the actors to drive the audience to the new properties.
Though the channel does not have any new property lined up for Friday, it plans to launch an hour-long comedy show for the weekly slot soon.
By putting weekly shows during the primetime band, the channel hopes to attract the interest of the viewers as there will be something new to look forward to every day.

Concept & Story"Yeh Chanda Kanoon Hai " is an episodic courtroom comedy. Chanda Rani is the protagonist. She's a very successful lawyer, very talented. Mr. Prem Kapoor is very fond of her and is always on the look out for a lone moment with Chanda.
A divorcee Chanda Rani often faces her husband Vibhuti Narayan as her opposite councel in the court. Nobody in the court knows that yhey are divorced. Extremely accomplished himself, he loses out to Chanda Rani since the judge rules in her favour mostly and Chanda Rani uses her guile, charm and acting abilities to full benefit. This frustrates Vibhuti Narayan to no end, but there is little he can do.
Both Chanda Rani and Vibhuti Narayan have their own assistant lawyers who are quite fond of each other, but avoid being friendly in court given the relationship between their employers.
The Judge besides being hopelessly infatuated with Chanda Rani is also completely absent-minded. It is his intelligent and bright Ardali who usually saves the day for him by quietly pointing out the facts and details of the case at hand.
Every episode will have a new face. Yeh Chanda Kanoon Hai debuts on Sab TV August 3rd, 2009.
Touted court room drama, 'Yeh Chanda Kanoon Hai' apart from being a comedy series will also address many serious issues, though on a lighter note.Show will have fresh case in every new episode. Judge Tikku Talsania and lawyers Asif Sheikh and Juhi Parmar are the permanent part of the show.Seasoned actors are expected to do cameo in the show.
It's a show based on dark comedy that throws light on the issues of day-to-day. And not even media's darker side will be spared in the name of dark comedy. "Media have always created panic amongst the masses by sensationalizing the news. So we decided to do an episode based on media," informs the writer of the show Manoj Santoshi.
This is not for the first time that media is ridiculed, but to see the spoofy defence of media that spared none will be indeed interesting!

Dark comedy series 'Yeh Chanda Kanoon Hai' will not spare anyone. Currently they are focusing on the contemporary issues in the society.
Interesting cases that will be heard in the recent future in the court of the serial are about Gay rights and Ragging in hostels. "Both the subjects are sensitive and as we do not want to hurt anyone's sentiments thus we are discussing it to the length with our research team" informs the writer of the show, Manoj Santoshi.
As of now serial is running the case of Browny Raheja's that is based on infamous Shiny Ahuja rape case. So as to avoid any controversies they have toned down the case to eve-teasing with domestic help. By the way Browny Raheja is played by the controversial man, Raja Chaudhary.
