FATE TWISTED BY LOVE
CHAPTER 41
Everything ran in a slow motion in front of Naina's eyes as she saw the love of her life falling in the sea. Without giving a second thought, she too jumped behind him. The most important fact that she missed was she herself didn't know how to swim.
As she crashed in water, she realized what huge mistake she had made. She couldn't swim, she tried to waggle her hands & legs in water, but everything was useless. She prayed to God, "Bhagwaanji... please mere Sameer ko bachaa lena... Kaashh main unhe ek baar dekh paati..."
Naina was almost drowning & had lost all hopes to see her life partner for one last time before she bid goodbye to the world. She thought she won't survive this & prayed for her husband's safety. She struggled hard in water but it was a futile attempt.
When she couldn't breathe anymore & thought that she was about to drown & die, she felt someone's strong hand wrapping around her & she knew by the touch that he was her husband who had come for her rescue.
Losing his balance, Sameer had fallen in the sea while trying to get hold of Naina's dupatta. When he came up for air, he saw someone struggling to swim in the sea. In a second, he knew that it was his wife who was struggling in the middle of the sea as he caught sight of her pink dress.
Sameer instantly swam in her direction & wrapped his hand around her to keep her steady. Pulling her closer, he swam towards the ship. It was difficult for him to swim as he had to hold Naina with his other hand.
As he approached the ship, the security people of the cruise helped them & brought them back inside. Sameer could feel that his wife wasn't in a good shape. He didn't know if he should shout at her first or take care of her.
When Sameer placed his wife on the deck, she had fainted. He tapped her cheeks lightly to wake her up but it was of no use. The other person asked him to apply some pressure on her stomach so the excess water would come out of her body.
He tried it twice & again pressed her stomach for the third time. As all the water came out from her system, she breathed freely & woke up with a scream, "Sameer..."
Sameer breathed in finally after seeing his gorgeous wife awake & safe. He instantly pulled her in his arms & kissed her forehead, "Tum... tum thik ho Naina???" She just hummed in response while he tightened his hold.
Within few minutes, their journey in the bay ended & they were back in their car. Naina was shivering a little due to wet clothes & Sameer kept her close, providing his warmth, though he too was fully wet.
Once they were in their suite, Sameer picked her up in his arms & walked inside the washroom. He slowly lowered her on the ground & whispered, "Main abhi aaya..." He walked towards the bath tub & turned the tap on for warm water.
Within few minutes, the tub was full & he gestured his wife to settle herself in the tub. When Naina made no move to walk towards the tub, Sameer picked her up yet again & lowered her in the warm water.
"Tum thodi der issi garam paani mein rahogi, toh tumhari shivering kamm ho jaayegi." As he turned to go, Naina held his hand, stopping him in his tracks. He controlled himself from turning to her, or else he would lose all his sanity with just one look at her.
But when he heard her sweet voice, he turned. "Sameer... aap... aap bhi kaanp rahe hai..." He knew that he was shivering too. But this hot water in the bath tub wasn't enough to provide him the warmth he required. He needed her, desperately.
Seeing Naina in the bath tub fully soaked ignited some new & unknown sensations in his body which he was trying to control badly. Closing his eyes, he spoke, "Main baahar change kar lunga, tum... tumhe abhi iss garam paani ki jyaada zarurat hai."
But Naina didn't budge, she didn't leave his hand. Instead, she got up & stood in the bath tub. Holding his hand tightly, she mumbled, "Sameer... Aapko bhi thand lag jaayegi, aap... aapko bhi iss garam paani ki zarurat hai."
Naina tugged his hand & Sameer didn't know when his legs moved on its own & he stood facing her. Sameer watched her nervousness & cupped her face between his palms. "Naina... thodi der iss tub mein raho, tumhe accha feel hoga. Please... ab aage kuch mat kehna... main baahar change kar leta hun tab tak."
Naina blinked her eyes as she saw his eyes darkening. Sameer collected a fresh towel & headed outside without a backward glance, he knew if he turned back now, he won't be able to leave her & would end up kissing her senseless.
As Sameer left, Naina took a deep breath & settled in the bath tub. As everything replayed in her mind, she chastised herself, "Kya zarurat thi paani mein kudne ki jab tairna nahi aata? Kya soch rahe honge ki kaisi paagal ladki hai, jisse tairna aata nahi aur chali thi unhe bachaane. Tu na ekdum paagal hai Naina. kuch bhi karne se pehle sochti hi nahi hai."
On the other hand, Sameer wanted to scold her for her recklessness. "Naina aisa kaise kar sakti hai? Jab usse khud swim karna nahi aata toh fir wohh paani mein kudi kyun? Poochna toh padega, main aise hi Naina ki zindagi ke saath compromise nahi kar sakta. Usse samjhaana hoga..."
After few minutes, Sameer heard the click of the washroom door & he froze. The sight that greeted him reminded him of their first meet in the Maheshwari Mansion. Naina was standing in front of him in a towel wrapped around her body & her hair.
In washroom, when Naina realized that she hadn't brought any clothes in there, she didn't have any other option than to wrap the towel around her body. She had thought of asking Sameer to hand her night suit but she didn't have the courage to ask so. She didn't want him to go through her personal stuff.
Making up her mind, she had walked out of the washroom in the towels. Even for doing this, she had needed a lot of courage but she was left with no choice. She too had remembered their first meet when she had stepped out from the washroom.
Both of them reminisced their first meet where both were lost in each other. There wasn't much difference today either. When they had collided in his room in the Maheshwari Mansion, they were strangers but now, the scenario was different. They were tied in the sacred bond of marriage.
But one thing was constant, & that was the attraction they felt towards each other which had now increased manifolds. And also, there were some feelings lingering in their hearts. One was sure of the feelings while the other was scared to accept it. The change was tremendous & it was noticeable to them too.
Sameer gazed at his hot & sexy wife while Naina took few steps towards him anxiously. Keeping a safe distance between them, she spoke, "Sameer... aap... aap bhi fresh ho jaaiye... Main... main... coffee order karti hun..."
Though Sameer wanted to talk to her first but he needed to shower too as he hadn't changed from his damp clothes. Taking the track pants with him, he passed by her, to only stop at the washroom door. Without turning to her, he spoke, "Kuch khaane ko bhi order kar dena..."
As Naina heard the door's click, she exhaled finally. Running towards the wardrobe, she changed into the night suit & ordered for coffee & snacks. Naina was a total mess & sat at the edge of the bed waiting for her husband.
Sameer quickly showered & came out in his black track pants with a towel wrapped around his neck & shoulder. As he came out, he saw his wife sitting at the edge of the bed & fidgeting with her kerchief.
Throwing the towel on the chair, he pulled Naina to him in a swift move. She landed on his chest... bare chest & shivered with that touch. She had many times seen him half naked after his shower but today was different as she was directly in contact with his half naked body.
Sameer too shuddered with that little touch, but he didn't let it show. Holding her in his arms, he asked, "Tum paani mein kyun kudi thi Naina??? Jab tumhe swim karna nahi aata then why did you jump???"
Naina had expected this, but she kept mum as she herself wasn't sure, if she could answer this. Sameer continued, "Tumne ek baar bhi socha ki agar tumhe kuch ho jaata toh? Tumhe kya lagaa ki main paani mein doob jaata?"
"Tum bacchi ho kya Naina ki mujhe tumhe yeh sab samjhaana pad raha hai. Jab tumhe swim karna nahi aata tha toh kyun kudi tum paani mein? Bolo Naina... Mujhe tumhara jawaab sunna hai. Bolo... Why did you jump Naina???"
Naina was frustrated with his continuous questions, so she jerked his hands & came out of his hold. "Kyunki main darr gayi thi Sameer... darr gayi thi main... Aap... aap... mera dupatta pakadne ki wajah se gire the, aur... aur jab maine aap ko girte dekha toh lagaa ki kuch chut raha hai mere haath se, kuch chut raha hai meri zindagi se. Mere saamne main aapko kaise kuch hone deti???"
"Mujhe uss waqt jo sahi lagaa wohh maine kiya... jab aapko girte dekha toh meri saansen hi ruk gayi thi Sameer... main... main aapko bachaana chaahti thi... aur tab mujhe jo thik lagaa wohh maine kiya aur main kud gayi paani mein. Aur agar waapis aisa kuch hua, main tab bhi bina kuch soche aise hi paani mein kud jaaungi aapko bachaane ke liye..."
Closing her eyes, she replayed everything that happened at that time & continued, "Jab paani mein giri tab yaad aaya ki mujhe toh tairna hi nahi aata. Tab mehsoos hua ki shaayad main aapko bachaa nahi sakungi aur... aur... shaayad main aapko ek aakhri baar dekh bhi na paun. Mujhe lagaa ki main marr jaungi, waise bhi meri zindagi ka kya matlab jab main aapki zindagi nahi bachaa sakti?"
Sameer stood stunned hearing her reply. He saw the tears that had made its way from her eyes, it pained him to see that he was the reason behind those tears. She continued, "Maine aapke liye Karwa Chauth ka vrat sirf naam ke liye nahi rakha tha Sameer... Main sach mein aapko bachaana chaahti thi, par... par main bhool gayi... bhool gayi ki mujhe tairna nahi aata. Jab main khudko nahi bachaa sakti thi, toh aapko kaise bachaati?"
She kneeled in front of him & sobbed, "Main bhagwaan se yahi prarthna kar rahi thi ki aapki jaan bacch jaaye... Nanaji ko aapki zarurat hai... Mujhe aaj aisa lagaa jaise maine aapko hamesha hamesha ke liye kho diya, main tab bas itna chaahti thi ki mere marne se pehle main aapko ek baar dekh paati, dekh paati ki aap sahi salamat toh hai..."
Sameer held her sobbing figure & made her stand. Tum important ho, Nanu ke liye aur mere liye bhi."
Tightening his hold, he continued, "You're my friend & my wife Naina... Main tumhe kaise kuch hone deta? Tum... tum kabhi aage se aisa kuch paagalpan mat karna. Samjhi... Mere liye kabhi tum apni zindagi ke saath nahi khelogi. Your life is very important & precious to me Naina... You're important & special..."
Naina rubbed her nose & kissed him on his bare chest while he shivered with that action. Before he could say more, she spoke, "Main aapko kabhi kuch hone nahi dungi Sameer. Aap mere pati hai aur bohot acche dost bhi, toh main meri zindagi se pehle hamesha aapki zindagi ke baare mein hi sochungi."
Though Sameer wanted her to understand that she couldn't place her life above his, but for now, he kept quiet. After staying for few minutes in each other's embrace, Naina moved away feeling a little shy as she realized that he was still shirtless. Sameer caught sight of the red tinge on her cheeks but remained mum.
As Naina was about to walk towards the bed, the doorbell rang announcing the arrival of their coffee & snacks. Sameer collected the order & they sat to have the much-needed meal. As they finished, it was already evening time. Though they had time to go for some sightseeing but Sameer wanted his wife to rest.
Closing the curtains of their suite, Sameer collected few tablets from his bag, "Yeh medicines lo, warna tabiyat kharaab ho jaayegi. Tumhe..." Before he could complete his sentence, Naina started to sneeze which was followed by him.
They looked at each other & broke into peals of laughter. Naina & Sameer took the tablets & rested for the evening in their room. Sameer switched on the television, but nothing caught their interest.
He then played his all-time favourite movie, Maine Pyar Kiya, on his laptop & the couple enjoyed their bed time watching back-to-back movies. It was around ten at night when he opened his eyes to find that both had slept while binge watching the movies.
His eyes turned to find his wife who was sleeping on his chest comfortably. His mind went back to the incident that happened on the cruise. How could she risk her own life for him? Didn't she care about herself? How come she was ready to die while saving his life?
Sameer knew that she was selfless but this wasn't what he had ever thought about. His life was more important for her than her own? She prioritized him before her life. His eyes moistened as his mind wandered towards his own parents.
None of them had thought about him, none of them had ever prioritized him in any matter, expect his Nanu. His own father had kicked them out of his house while his mother died as she couldn't handle that rejection. No one had even thought about him, they didn't even think once about how he would live his life alone.
If not for Nanu & Munna Pandit, he too would've died in depression. And now, there was his wife who was prioritizing him before everyone. The tears made its way in his eyes & he smiled watching his beautiful wife. "Ekdum paagal hai... par bohot acchi hai aur ab wohh meri hai.."
Naina opened her eyes at that precise moment & scrunched her eyebrows as she watched his tears. She got up instantly, "Aap... aap ro kyun rahe hai??? Kya hua??? Aapko kahin lagaa tha kya??? Kaisi biwi aur dost hun main, maine aapko poocha hi nahi ki aapko kahin lagi hai kya. Boliye Sameer... Aapko kahin dard ho raha hai, kahin chot lagi thi kya aapko?"
Her eyes roved on his arms, neck & face to find any traces of hurt from the incident while Sameer watched her fussing over him with a smile. He wiped his tears & pulled her back in his arms, "Mujhe kuch nahi hua hai Naina... Bas pehle ki baatein yaad aa gayi, mummy ki yaad aa gayi, isliye aankhon se aansoon nikal gaye."
Naina felt sad but she had to improve his mood, so she spoke, "Waise mujhe bohot bhook lagi hai... Aapka toh mujhe pataa nahi, par mere pet mein chuhe disco dance kar rahe hai." Sameer chuckled watching her expressions, "Bhook toh mujhe bhi lagi hai, hum movie dekhte dekhte kab so gaye pataa hi nahi chala. Aise karo tum fresh ho jao, main tab tak kuch khaane ko order karta hun."
Naina went to freshen up while Sameer ordered for their dinner. Once they were done with the simple meal, they slept next to each other peacefully.
The next morning, they got up late due to the effect of the medicine. After showering, Sameer spoke, "Naina... Aaj hamara aakhri din hai yahaan. Kal subah ki flight hai hamari. Ummm... toh jahaan bhi jaana ho, aaj ke din mein hi jaana hoga. Toh bolo... tumne socha hai aaj ka aakhri din hum yahaan kaise bitaayenge?"
Naina smiled at her dashing husband & replied, "Aap hi toh mujhe char din se surprises de rahe hai, toh aaj bhi aap hi decide kijiye, hume kahaan jaana hai." Though Sameer had already anticipated this reply, he smiled & agreed, "Thik hai... Aaj hum thodi shopping ke liye jaate hai aur fir shaam ko sab packing bhi kar lenge."
Naina agreed with him & they both got ready for the day. After leaving from the hotel, they had their breakfast first in the nearby restaurant & then headed towards the market.
The couple visited many stores & shopped for variety of things from books to clothes to perfumes to photo frames for Nanu & their friends. When Naina was busy buying some books for herself, Sameer disappeared in the jewellery shop nearby to buy something special for his wife.
Sameer had noticed that she hadn't bought anything for herself except for the books. He had asked her many times but she had smartly avoided him. He had known this & so he remained quiet & didn't bring up the topic of shopping for her again.
While entering the bookstore, he had seen the jewellery shop & had made up his mind for what he had to do. He had something special to buy for her too but that he could do in Ahmedabad too. For now, he concentrated on the large display of jewellery in front of him.
Sameer knew that his beautiful wife loved simple things so he looked around for something that was simple & elegant at the same time as his lovely wife. His eyes fell on a platinum chain which had a tear drop diamond pendant & matching earrings. This was what he wanted for his gorgeous wife that would suit her simplicity.
Sameer didn't have much time, so he paid for that set & rushed to the bookstore where Naina was so lost in the books that she didn't even feel her husband's absence. He sighed in relief as he saw her busy reading some book.
Sameer sneakily hid the jewellery box in one of their shopping bags & asked her, "Naina... tumne decide kar liya ki tumhe kaunsi books chahiye hai?" She turned to him with a huff & spoke, "Aap kahaan the??? Pataa hai main kitni confused hun, mujhe samajh hi nahi aa raha ki main kaunsi book lun? Sab ek se badhkar ek hai."
Sameer took a deep breath & replied, "Main toh wohh... wahaan... uss section mein tha. Main kuch books dekh raha tha, par kuch khaas accha nahi lagaa." He lied on her face & stuttered. But Naina was so busy in the books that she didn't see through his expressions & lying.
After an hour or so, Naina finally selected few books for herself & they left towards their hotel. On the way, they had their lunch in a restaurant. Once they were in their suite, Naina started packing their bags while Sameer hid the jewellery box in his bag before she could see it.
Once they were done, it was already evening. Sameer asked, "Hum thodi der baahar chalein?" Naina agreed, "Haa... ummm... kya hum Golden Gate jaa sakte hai???" He agreed & they freshened up & got ready to leave.
As they reached Golden Gate, Sameer hired a bicycle for an hour & they enjoyed their time riding on it. Naina sat comfortably leaning her back on his chest completely while Sameer couldn't concentrate on anything other than her fragrance & the proximity. This closeness was affecting him a lot.
When their one hour was up, Sameer gave away the rented bicycle while Naina stood near an icecream parlour. She saw Sameer talking on his mobile with someone. She turned to collect ice-creams for them.
When she turned, she saw Sameer still talking on his phone & a big bus was approaching towards him. The bus driver honked multiple times but he was so lost & busy over the call that he didn't hear the incessant honking.
Naina cursed under her breath & ran towards him throwing the ice-creams on the way. When Sameer saw his wife running towards him, he realized that he was crossing the road senselessly.
In a split second, Naina pushed Sameer out of the way of the bus & she too fell down beside him. Though Sameer wasn't hurt much apart from some scratches but Naina was in pain yet again.
Sameer instantly turned to his wife & helped her to get up. He saw that she was holding her arm as if it was paining a lot. Before he could ask her about her wellbeing, she shouted, "Sameer... Aap... aap bacche hai kya? Aapko road cross karna nahi aata kya? Itna kya phone mein busy the ki aapko itni badi bus ki aawaaz tak sunaai nahi di?"
"Wohh bus driver kab se horn bajaaye jaa raha tha aur aap... aap toh uss phone mein hi kho gaye the. Agar... agar aapko kuch ho jaata toh? Toh main kya karti huh? Kya karti main???" Sameer was stunned with her outburst.
When he tried to hold her, she moved away in pain. "Aap... aapko khud ka khayaal zara bhi nahi hai na? Aise kaun road cross karta hai Sameer?" Taking a step towards him, she asked, "Aapko kahin chot toh nahi lagi naa???"
Sameer just shook his head in negation while she dusted his t-shirt & jeans. When Sameer held her hand to stop the dusting, she hissed in pain. Sameer instantly turned her arm & saw her arm swollen.
His anger rose, "Tum paagal ho Naina??? Tum aise kyun bhaagi mujhe bacchane ke liye? Agar tumhe kuch ho jaata toh?" She screamed in reply, "Toh kya main apni aankhon ke saamne aapko bus ke neeche aate dekhti Sameer??? Maine aapko kal bhi kahaa tha aur aaj bhi keh rahi hun, main aapko kabhi kuch hone nahi de sakti."
Sameer lost his control, "Aur agar mujhe bachaane ke chakkar mein tumhe kuch ho jaaye yaa tumhari jaan chali jaaye toh chalega???" Naina's eyes misted instantly & she replied in clear voice, "Haannn... aapko bachaate waqt agar meri jaan bhi chali jaaye toh main khushi khushi marne ko taiyaar hun Sameer. Aap hamesha meri jaan se pehle rahenge, hamesha..."
His eyes darted towards her forehead which had started bleeding. He immediately picked her up in his arms & walked towards their waiting car. She shrieked in his arms but he didn't listen to her protests.
Sameer instructed the driver to take them to a clinic nearby where they could have a check on Naina & her wounds. Throughout the ride, she kept cursing some or the other thing. Sameer was angry on her but more than that he was angry on himself.
How could he be so irresponsible & negligent that he didn't hear the honking of the bus? This was the second time that she had done something to save his life. He cursed himself some more & the car stopped in front of the clinic.
Sameer didn't say much but his one glance was enough for Naina to come out of the car without making any scene. Luckily there weren't much appointments & they met the doctor in the next half an hour.
The doctor examined Naina & cleaned her wounds. He applied bandage on her forehead & prescribed some medicines for her swollen arm, it was just a minor sprain & it would heal in few days.
Once done in the clinic, the couple headed towards their suite. No one spoke anything. There was complete silence when they reached their room. Without saying anything, Sameer collected his change of clothes & marched towards the washroom.
Naina sat down on the bed & touched the bandage on her forehead. She mumbled to herself, "Aaj agar main time par Sameer ko dhakka nahi maarti toh pataa nahi kya ho jaata? Sameer bhi na zara bhi dhyaan nahi dete hai aajkal. Pataa nahi dhyaan kahaan hota hai."
"Ahmedabad jaate hi unki nazar utaarni padegi. Kal paani mein gir gaye aur aaj yeh accident... Agar Nanaji ko pataa chala toh pataa nahi kitni daant khayenge Sameer???"
While she was mumbling to herself, she didn't hear the click of the washroom door. Her handsome husband had heard her mumbling & replied, "Acchaa... toh Nanu sirf mujhe daantenge... tumhe nahi??? Tumne toh bohot samajhdaari ka kaam kiya hai na, toh tumhe kyun daantenge. Kyun???"
Naina got up from the bed & stood facing him. The tears that she was holding till now were finally back & she replied in a choked voice, "Sameer... Jab maine aapko uss bus ke raaste mein khade dekha toh meri jaan hi nikal gayi thi. Main... main bohot darr gayi thi, par pataa nahi kahaan se mujhe itni himmat mili ki main aapki taraf daud padi aur aapko sahi time par dhakka de diya."
Sameer closed the distance between them & wiped her tears, "Aur agar tumhe kuch ho jaata toh Naina? Tumhe kya lagta hai ki mujhe tumhari parwaah nahi hai? Tumhari iss chot se mujhe koi farak nahi padd raha?"
Sameer touched the bandage on her forehead & his eyes misted. Touching her swollen arm, he spoke, "Jitna dard tumhe meri chot se lagta hai na, usse kai jyaada dard mujhe hota hai jab main tumhe rote hue dekhta hun, tumhe dard mein dekhta hun. Yeh chot meri wajah se lagi hai tumhe."
"Main tumhara pati hun, mujhe tumhari raksha karni chahiye, tumhara khayaal rakhna chahiye. Par peechle do dino se tum meri jaan bachaa rahi ho, tum meri raksha kar rahi ho, tum mera khayaal rakh rahi ho Naina..."
"I'm sorry Naina... Main client se baat karne mein itna busy ho gaya ki pataa hi nahi chala ki kab bus mere saamne thi. Thank you Naina... aaj tumne meri jaan bachaayi hai. Par aage se aisa koi stunt mat karna jisse tumhe kuch ho jaaye, tumhe chot lage."
"Jab tumhe chot lagti hai na, toh dard mujhe bhi hota hai Naina. Tumhare har aansoon se mujhe taklif hoti hai. Please aage se aisa kuch mat karna jisse tumhari jaan ko khatra ho. Meri wajah se agar tumhe kuch ho gaya toh main khudko kabhi maaf nahi kar paaunga Naina... kabhi maaf nahi kar paaunga..."
Naina hugged him tightly & replied, "Mr Sameer Maheshwari... mujhe meri jaan ki bilkul parwaah nahi hai. Jab bhi aapki jaan ko khatra hoga, toh main uske aur aapke beech khadi rahungi hamesha... Main aapko kuch nahi hone dungi Sameer. Mere hote hue aapko kabhi kuch nahi hoga."
Sameer's eyes teared up hearing her reply & he asked, "Main tumhari zindagi mein itna maayne rakhta hun Naina, ki tum mujhe bachaane ke liye khudko mitaane ko taiyaar ho?" She hummed in response...
He asked again, "Kya tum mujhe itna pya..." & he stopped, realizing what he was about to ask. But Naina understood his incomplete question & again hummed in response. She wanted to scream & confess her love for him, but she couldn't get the courage. She wasn't brave enough to face it for now.
Sameer loosened his hold & spoke, "Naina... jao fresh ho jao... main dinner order karta hun, tumhe medicines bhi toh leni hai na?" Naina didn't meet his eyes as she knew, if she met his eyes now, she would confess her love for him & she didn't want it to happen for now.
Turning around, she walked towards the washroom & locked the door. She took deep breaths as fresh tears gathered in her eyes, "Pataa nahi kab tak main apne dil ki baat aapse chupaa paaungi Sameer? Pataa nahi kab tak???"
When Naina came out of the washroom, she saw Sameer siting on the bed. She joined next to him & called up Nanu. They talked till their dinner arrived. As Naina's right arm was swollen & sprained, she was having a difficulty in eating. Sameer quietly started feeding her & she didn't protest. Infact, she loved the attention that her husband was showering on her.
Once done with their meal, Sameer gave medicines to her & asked her to rest on the bed. When he was back after locking the door & closing the curtains, he saw Naina struggling with her hair.
Sameer sat beside her & asked, "Main kuch help kar dun?" Naina looked at him strangely & asked, "Aap kya help karenge? Aapko choti baandhna aata hai?" Though Sameer had never done this before, but he had seen her tie her hair in braid many times.
"Main maanta hun ki maine pehle yeh kabhi nahi kiya, par main try kar sakta hun." Naina didn't question much & turned her back to him.
Sameer combed her hair first & then slowly started to tie her hair. Though it wasn't as perfect as Naina but it wasn't bad at all too. Naina was impressed with this & she thanked him for his help.
When they slept beside each other, Sameer shifted closer to her & spoke, "Agar pain jyaada ho, toh mujhe uthaa dena Naina. Main yahin hun..." Naina nodded & closed her eyes. After an hour or so, she opened her eyes & closed the distance between them.
She rested her head on his chest & mumbled, "I Love You Sameer... main aapse bohot pyaar karti hun aur main aapke liye kuch bhi kar sakti hun. Jo sawaal aap mujhse pooch nahi paaye, uska jawaab main aapko de rahi hun Sameer..." She kissed him on his heart & drifted to sleep...
As she closed her eyes, Sameer opened his to look at her serene face...

Will update soon 😊👍
Hello friends...
I'm back with the next part....
I know you all are waiting to know if Sameer had heard Naina's confession.
So, lets start with the update...
I hope you will like this one...
FATE TWISTED BY LOVE
CHAPTER 42
Sameer couldn't sleep, especially when he knew that his wife was in pain because of him. He was upset with himself. How could he even shout at her when she was only trying to save his life both the times?
He felt guilty for scolding her. He felt guilty that he had misjudged her from the start. How could he accuse her of being a gold-digger & characterless? In these six months of marriage, Naina had proved him wrong every time.
Sameer had never befriended any girl in his life but after marrying Naina, he had befriended her, as somehow, he understood her pain of being an orphan. Day by day, Sameer started liking her more & more for what she was.
He had never met anyone as selfless as his wife. Naina was simple yet beautiful, silent yet chirpy at times, sweet yet notorious, but what stood out the most was her heart & her pure soul.
Sameer knew he was falling for his lovely wife but yet he wanted time to accept his feelings. His insecurities were too deep to clear his heart for a lifetime commitment. At every step in his past six months of marriage, he had known that Naina was a perfect life partner & wife for him.
When Sameer had held Naina in the sea, he had prayed for her life too. Seeing her struggling in water had stopped his heartbeats. He never wanted anything to happen to his wife, especially because of him. He had scolded her for her recklessness but her reply had stunned him to the core.
And even today, she had pushed him on the road & saved him from getting hit by the bus. Both the times, she had risked her own life to save his. Except Nanu & Munna Pandit, no one had ever cared for him & loved him so deeply.
It was Nanu who had given him a new life & his friends had helped him to deal with his depressed life. And now, Naina had brought the unknown feelings to the forefront which he never wanted to feel & experience in his life.
Naina had put her life in danger to save his life twice already. What else she could do to get her place in his life? Sameer hadn't slept & was awake with these thoughts when Naina had shifted closer to him & rested her head on his chest.
But what took his breath away was her sweet confession that he had never imagined & expected from her. "I Love You Sameer... main aapse bohot pyaar karti hun aur main aapke liye kuch bhi kar sakti hun. Jo sawaal aap mujhse pooch nahi paaye, uska jawaab main aapko de rahi hun Sameer..."
These words were like music to his ears. He had wanted to ask her if she loved him so much that she was ready to put her life at stake for his safety, but he had stopped at the right moment. He couldn't ask her as he wasn't sure if he was ready to hear her reply.
When he opened his eyes after her confession, his orbs were misty. No one had loved him so earnestly as her. He had seen many girls trying hard to gain his attention but Naina had earned his attention, care & respect by her behaviour & approach towards him, Nanu & his friends.
Her each & every gesture had proven that she was honestly trying to be a part of his family. She cared about his Nanu as him, she respected his friends like him. Infact, his friends had sided with her from the start.
And now, Sameer understood why his friends were drawn to her. Why they sided with her always? Why they treated her as their sister & friend? Why they loved her so much & took extra care of her?
Sameer realized that what feelings he was fighting himself, his wife had already accepted them. In some part of his heart, he had known that Naina definitely had some feelings for him. Her gestures & actions had proved that she loved him, yet he ignored it.
And now, after hearing her confession, his heart was filled with happiness. He didn't know why but his heart felt light after listening to her words. He smiled remembering how she had hummed in response even when he had stopped midway while asking her that specific question about love.
With her confession, one thing was clear that she loved him unconditionally. Now, it was time for him to accept those feelings too & prove to her that she too deserved happiness... Naina deserved the whole world & he would show her that with his actions.
Sameer knew that he couldn't just declare his love for her suddenly but he would show exactly what she had given him. He would show her through his actions & gestures that he liked her, liked her a lot... He still wasn't sure if he could use the L word for now.
With misty eyes & smiling lips, he kissed her forehead & thought, "Tumne toh apne dil ki baat keh di Naina... ab meri baari hai... Pyaar ka toh pataa nahi... par main tumhe har wohh khushi dunga jiski tum hakdaar ho, jo tum deserve karti ho."
"You're special & precious for me Naina... Main bhi tumhare liye kuch bhi kar sakta hun, tumhare chehre par ek muskaan ke liye main kuch bhi karunga. Aur yeh safar shuru hota hai abhi se. Mrs Naina Sameer Maheshwari... Ab tum iss naam se khud ko kabhi juda nahi kar paaogi. I promise that..."
Sameer closed his eyes with a determination to make his next move as soon as they reached Ahmedabad. For now, he can enjoy the presence of his wife in his arms & he will make sure that he will enjoy her presence around him till the end of his life.
As the alarm blared, the couple got up with a start. It was already seven in the morning. Sameer & Naina rushed to get ready as they had to leave for the airport in the next two hours.
They did the final check inside their suite one last time to see if they had forgotten anything. After that, they checked out from the hotel & reached airport in the next twenty minutes. The ride had been silent for them as both of them reminisced their time in San Francisco.
Naina thought to herself, "Yeh paanch din bohot hi jaldi nikal gaye, pataa hi nahi chala kab waapis jaane ka time aa gaya. Kal se hum apne ghar mein honge, routine fir se shuru ho jaayega, main college jaane lagungi aur Sameer office. Yeh paanch din meri zindagi ke sab se behtareen din the, jisse main kabhi nahi bhool paaungi."
Sneaking a glance at her husband, she continued with her thoughts, "Sameer ke saath yeh din kab nikal gaye pataa hi nahi chala. Ab jaise hi ghar jaayenge, yeh itne busy ho jaayenge ki thik se mere saath waqt hi bitaa nahi paayenge. Jaanti hun, Sameer company ke kaam mein busy rehte hai, par kaash wohh mere liye bhi thoda waqt nikaal lete."
On the other side, Naina's words replayed in his mind again & again. He took care of his wife & didn't allow her to pick up any luggage. He was taking proper care of her from the moment he had got up. He had fed her breakfast with his hands. He had helped her in tying her hair in a ponytail so they won't disturb her every now & then.
When they boarded the plane, Sameer took care of Naina as he saw through her nervousness yet again. He kept her busy with his talks & movies to distract her & he succeeded.
Naina was not much in pain but she loved the way her husband was taking care of her. This was her second time that she was travelling in the plane & she was nervous yet again. As Sameer started talking to her & played some comedy movies, she forgot about her nervousness & fear & enjoyed his company.
When their plane landed in Dubai after sixteen hours, she was terribly sleepy. Sameer took her to a café & freshened her up with a strong dose of coffee & donuts. After spending three hours on the Dubai airport & window shopping, they boarded the flight to Ahmedabad.
After four hours, they finally landed in Ahmedabad & breathed in the fresh air. Naina was more than excited to be back to Nanu & her home. Yesss... her home... Maheshwari Mansion was her home since the day she was brought to that house by Nanu.
Nanu was desperately waiting for them, he had been missing them a lot. Even if Sameer & Naina were continuously in touch with him, yet he missed their presence. One part of him was happy that finally his grandson had acknowledged Naina's part in his life & had taken her to San Francisco, while the other part was scared if he would hurt her unintentionally in his rage.
Nanu rushed to the entrance as he heard the car's honk. When the couple entered, Nanu saw the bandage on Naina's forehead & asked in concern, "Naina... yeh chot kaise lagi?" Before answering him, they bent down together to take his blessings & hugged him tightly.
Sameer & Naina too had missed him a lot. When they parted, Naina replied touching the bandage, "Yeh toh main bas bathroom mein gir gayi thi hotel mein, tabhi thoda lag gaya. Aap fikar mat kijiye Nanaji, mujhe dard bilkul nahi ho raha. Yeh bas aur do din ke liye lagaana hai, fir main thik ho jaaungi."
Before Nanu could ask more, she continued, "Aap yeh sab chodiye... yeh bataaiye ki aap kaise hai? Aapko dekhkar lagta hai ki aap thik se khaa nahi rahe the." Looking towards the kitchen, she asked Ramdhari who stood there & was happy with their arrival. "Ramdhari Bhaiya... Nanaji thik se khaana nahi khaa rahe the naa? Sach sach bataaiyega???"
Nanu glared at Ramdhari when he informed Naina that he was indeed not having proper meal as he was missing them a lot. Sameer was enjoying the antics that followed between Nanu & Naina with a smile.
This was his small & sweet family & he would do anything to keep them happy & safe. With a frustrated sigh, he spoke, "Koi mujhse bhi toh pooch lo ki main thik hun yaa nahi???" Everyone turned to him & smiled.
"Tujhse kya poochna? Tere saath Naina thi, aur mujhe poora yakin hai ki usne tera bohot acche se khayaal rakha hoga. Ek bas tu hi hai jisne meri bacchi ka thik se dhyaan nahi rakha... Agar acche se khayaal rakhta naa, toh yeh chot nahi lagi hoti Naina ko."
Though Sameer knew the real reason behind her injuries, he agreed to what Nanu said. It was because of his carelessness that she was hurt & was in pain. But he couldn't lie to Nanu about what had happened in San Francisco.
Taking Nanu in a side hug, Sameer spoke, "Aap thik keh rahe hai Nanu. Shaayad main hi acche se Naina ka dhyaan nahi rakh paaya isliye usse itni chot lag gayi." Naina was about to say something but Sameer cut her before she could even start & narrated what all happened with them during their stay there.
Nanu was shocked to hear the truth & reprimanded his grandson, "Sameer... tu itna laaparwaah kaise ho sakta hai? Khud ke saath saath tune Naina ki zindagi bhi khatre mein daal di. Teri wajah se Naina ko chot lag gayi. Yeh toh accha hua ki usse jyada chot nahi lagi."
Naina interrupted this time & spoke, "Nanaji... Inki koi galti nahi hai. Pehle mera dupatta nikaalte waqt yeh paani mein gir gaye aur dusri waqt yeh phone mein busy the. Jo bhi hua wohh jaan bujhkar toh nahi kiya tha naa Sameer ne, sab anjaane mein ho gaya, toh Nanaji please aap inhe mat daantiye. Inki koi galti nahi thi."
Sameer left Nanu's side & took his wife in a side hug, "Naina... Kahin na kahin meri wajah se hi yeh sab hua tha. Pehli baar meri galti nahi thi, par dusri baar toh meri hi galti thi naa? Mera hi dhyaan nahi tha road cross karte waqt, agar main thik se road cross karta toh tumhe mujhe bachaane ke liye nahi bhaagna padta aur yeh chot tumhe nahi lagti. Tumne meri jaan toh bachaa li, par tumhe meri wajah se chot toh lag gayi na???"
Naina lowered her head accepting his justification & then replied, "Main jaanti hun ki aap aage se acche se dhyaan rakhenge, khudka bhi aur mera bhi. Toh ab jo bhi hua usse bhool jaate hai aur aage badhte hai." Looking at Nanu, she said, "Nanaji... ab yeh baat yahi khatam karte hai taaki hum naashta kar sake. Mujhe pataa hai aapko bhook lagi hogi."
Nanu nodded, "Thik hai... jao jaldi se fresh hokar aa jao, Ramdhari ne naashta banaa liya hai." Glancing at his grandson, he said, "Kal se tumhara favourite naashta mil jaayega, aaj Ramdhaari ke haath ka kha lena."
Sameer gave a sideway glance to his wife & replied, "Sirf aaj ka din nahi Nanu, Naina tab tak kitchen mein nahi jaayegi jab tak wohh poori tarah se thik nahi ho jaati." Turning to her, he said, "Naina... tum chalo... main saamaan lekar aata hun."
Ramdhari & Sameer carried their luggage to his room while Naina took a long shower. After freshening up, Sameer & Naina joined Nanu for breakfast & Naina kept narrating everything that they had seen in San Francisco.
Nanu enjoyed their meal with lots of laughter. Sameer showed him all the pictures that they had clicked while their stay in San Francisco. Nanu was elated with the progress that he was seeing in their relationship. Something had definitely changed between them as he saw his grandson seeking his wife's attention every now & then.
As they finished their meal, there was a loud shriek at the entrance to find Munna, Pandit, Anjali & Preeti at the door. Naina got up with a squeal & ran towards her best friends & hugged them tightly. Sameer was surprised with the sudden intrusion but was happy that their friends had made time to meet them first thing in the morning.
Everyone chitchatted in the living room while Sameer brought all the gifts that they had shopped for them. Naina & Sameer together handed everyone their gifts & were delighted watching their friends, Nanu & Ramdhari opening their gifts with excitement.
They had brought perfumes for Munna & Pandit, a make-up kit for Anjali & few photo frames for Preeti to decorate her café. Nanu & Ramdhari were gifted with wristwatches. Naina asked her best friend, "Preeti... Kabir kahaan hai, wohh nahi aaye???"
Sameer's blood boiled with the mention of his name itself but he controlled his expressions in front of his friends. Naina continued, "Kabir ke liye bhi hum gift laaye hai. Jab unhe time mile toh bataa dena, humse collect karne ke liye."
Before Naina could say more, Sameer interrupted, "Naina... Kabir kaam mein busy hoga. Tum aisa karo, uska gift Preeti ko hi de do. Kyun bechaare Kabir ko uske important kaam mein disturb kar rahi ho?"
Munna & Pandit understood his façade while Naina thought about it seriously. Preeti & Anjali too understood what Sameer was trying to do. Preeti gave Sameer a fake smile & replied, "Tum chinta mat karo Sameer. Bhai thodi der mein aate hi honge." Turning to Naina, she said, "Naina... tum bhai ko gift tabhi de dena, bas ek ghante mein aa jaayenge yahaan."
Sameer showed their pictures to his friends who oohhed & aahhhed on every single picture which made the couple blush to the core under their gazes. Preeti & Anjali asked Naina about her bandage & she lied saying that she had slipped in the bathroom.
This time Naina held Sameer's hand & gestured him to keep quiet while Nanu was happy watching their silent conversation. After talking for an hour or so, Kabir arrived. He greeted everyone with a smile but when he came in front of Sameer, he smiled some more & murmured, "Toh finally Naina ko tum apne saath San Francisco le hi gaye. Mujhe lagaa nahi tha ki tum Naina ko saath le jaaoge, par khair, tumne jo kiya accha hi kiya, waise bhi Naina college aur NGO ke alaawa kahi aur jaati hi nahi thi. I'm happy for her..."
Sameer just smiled back sweetly at him & replied, "Ab main apni wife ka khayaal nahi rakhunga toh aur kaun rakhega. Main Naina ka husband hun, toh mujhe Naina ki har khushi ka dhyaan rakhna hoga. Kyun kuch galat toh nahi keh raha hun na main Kabir???"
Kabir wasn't expecting such reply from him, but was happy with it. Finally, Sameer was treating Naina as his wife & Kabir couldn't be more than happy. He had decided that he won't instigate his friend until it was needed. He had even told this to Preeti, Anjali, Munna & Pandit that he would stay away from them.
While Kabir & Sameer stood facing each other, Naina had gone to her room to bring the other gifts. They had bought a perfume for him too & some chocolates boxes for the girls in the NGO. When Naina handed over the chocolate boxes to Kabir, he spoke, "Naina... tumhe nahi lagta ki yeh chocolates tumhe hi ladkiyon ko deni chahiye? Waise bhi wohh sab tumhe bohot miss kar rahi hai."
Naina agreed to it & she too wanted to meet the girls as she had missed them too. She glanced at Sameer once to ask for permission & he nodded. Though he too wanted to join her to visit the NGO but he had few things to take care at home.
After relishing their favourite dishes for lunch, Naina left for the NGO with Kabir, Preeti & Anjali while Munna & Pandit stayed with their best friend. As Naina had reached the entrance, her husband had called her, "Naina... Ruko..."
Sameer gave her the medicines which she swallowed making faces. He took a step towards her & kissed her forehead, "Apna khayaal rakhna... Sambhal kar jaana." Once the girls left with Kabir, Sameer updated about the deal they had won with Nanu & his friends.
Nanu retired to his room for his afternoon nap & Munna & Pandit too left for their home. Making up his mind, Sameer went back to his room & started his work. It took him almost more than two hours to finish with his decided work. Once done, he got back to the living room & joined Nanu for the evening tea.
Naina too returned home & shared how the girls had gifted her a beautiful handmade greeting card. Nanu & Sameer were impressed seeing the card made by the girls & were delighted to see Naina all smiling & happy.
All the three kept chatting about some or the other thing & then sat for dinner. She was enjoying their attention especially her husband's attention. Once they were done with their meal, they headed towards their room after bidding goodnight to Nanu & Ramdhari.
As Naina entered, she saw that her luggage bag was missing. Without turning to him, she was about to walk out to her old room to collect her clothes, when she heard his voice, "Kahaan jaa rahi ho Naina???"
Stopping at the door, she replied, "Wohhh... main... apne kapde lene jaa rahi hun." She was about to open the door when she felt his hand covering hers. Holding her hand, Sameer turned her & walked towards the wardrobe.
He opened the door & seeing the contents in the wardrobe, Naina stood stunned. She stuttered, "Yeh... yeh... yeh toh mere kapde hai. Yahaan kisne rakhe?" Sameer held her by her shoulder & spoke in a soft voice, "Yeh sab maine kiya... ab se tumhare kapde issi cupboard mein rahenge Naina."
Naina's eyes misted instantly & she hugged him. Sameer breathed in her fragrance & hugged her tightly savouring her warmth & love. After few minutes, they parted & he wiped her tears slowly, gazing deeply in his eyes.
Naina could feel the change in him, something had changed between them since their return & she was too happy with it. Picking up her night suit, he handed it over to his wife, "Jao... fresh ho jao. Tumhe medicines bhi leni hai."
Naina freshened up quickly & swallowed the medicines that her husband gave her. When she turned towards the wardrobe to collect the pillow & quilt for herself, Sameer held her hand once again, "Kya kar rahi ho tum???"
Without turning to him, she replied, "Wohhh... main... sone ke liye pillow aur chaddar lene jaa rahi thi." She wanted to sleep with him as she was doing from past few nights, but wasn't she expecting too much from him. She reprimanded herself to stop expecting such things.
Sameer stood in front of her & asked, "Tumhe couch par sona hai???" Though Naina wanted to scream & say a big 'NO', but no words escaped her mouth & she lowered her lashes. Sameer understood her silence & spoke, "Toh fir kyun sona hai couch par?"
When Naina met his gaze, he smiled heartily & picked her up in his arms. She wrapped her hands around his neck & stared at him. Who was he??? And where had her arrogant husband disappeared? It was very difficult for her to undergo these sudden changes in a single night.
First, he had shifted her all luggage in his wardrobe & now he wanted her to sleep on his bed. What was going on? What was the reason behind this sudden change of heart? Was her saving his life twice led to this change of heart? Her thoughts didn't end.
As Sameer placed her on the bed softly, Naina still stared at her handsome husband. He kissed her forehead & spoke, "Main abhi aata hun fresh hokar, tab tak tumhare chehre se yeh shockwaale expressions hataa dena please... tumhe bilkul suit nahi karte yeh..."
Winking at her stunned face, he dashed towards the washroom. Naina didn't know what to make of all this. Did all this mean that he had accepted their marriage & was giving this relationship a chance? Or was he doing this only because she had saved his life?
There were many questions in her mind but she was afraid to voice them. Was she prepared for this? Was she prepared to give their relationship a fair chance? She knew her answers but was she ready to hear them from her husband? Could she ask him what all this meant?
Her thoughts broke as she heard the click of the washroom door. Her gaze collided with his burning gaze & she looked away instantly. She was in a daze, she couldn't believe that all this was real. She still thought that she was daydreaming about all this.
Sameer took a deep breath as he entered the washroom. He had done all this to make her comfortable around him in this room. Since their marriage, Naina was sleeping on the couch which he hated the most. He had wanted to change that & now he had done it finally. He had seen how Naina would keep her clothes in her luggage bag every time she changed into new. He hadn't liked all this but his notions about this marriage had stopped him from extending his hand towards her.
But now when he saw through her feelings, everything had changed. He would do anything for her to keep her happy & safe with him in this house. He had seen the shock on her face when he had opened the wardrobe door for her & she was more shocked when he said that she would be sleeping with him on the same bed from now onwards.
Sameer knew that she was happy with whatever he had done & he wanted to give her some time to grasp all these new sudden changes between them. He had thought about all this while coming back to Ahmedabad.
The first thing he wanted was to make sure that she was comfortable in this room. They can't stay as strangers in the same room. Yes... they weren't strangers & stayed as friends here. But after the confession, things had changed & he wanted her to be more comfortable & homely in this room, especially around him, which starts now...

FATE TWISTED BY LOVE
CHAPTER 43
Naina still couldn’t believe that Sameer had made her sleep on his bed. These new changes weren’t something that she had expected. Something had changed in her husband & she wanted to know the reason behind this.
Sameer’s gaze clashed with hers as he came out from the washroom. She was feeling very much nervous. In San Francisco, there was no choice but to share the bed. But here, the situation was different. Sameer had himself taken this step for her which was not expected at all.
As Sameer neared, her heartbeats accelerated & she kept staring at him. His each & every step towards her made her shiver. She reminisced the first night of their marriage when she had walked towards the couch to sleep & he hadn’t stopped her. That hurt & pain was still present there, the rejection of not being with her husband from the very start of this marriage was painful & unforgettable.
After more than six months of marriage, Naina was finally on his bed. Sameer was anxious as he took slow steps towards his lovely wife who too looked nervous like him. He switched off the lights on the way, the bed side table lamp was the only source of light in the bedroom.
Controlling his raging heartbeats, he slipped beside her on the bed. Pulling the thin sheet over him, he switched off the lamp too. There was total darkness in their room now, only the rays of roadside streetlights penetrated from the balcony which helped them to see each other’s silhouette.
Though they were surrounded by darkness, they could feel each other’s intake of breath. Their hearts thudded loudly as they were very much aware of each other. This shouldn’t have been new to them, they had already slept next to each other from past few nights, yet this was different, this was more intimate. Being in their own house, in the same bedroom & sleeping on the same bed was more personal.
Sameer wanted to close the distance between them & take her in his arms, but he resisted. He couldn’t scare her away now with this sudden proximity. He had to take baby steps towards her & make her comfortable first, in their room, especially on this bed. He knew that even she was wide awake like him.
“Naina… So jao… tum thaki nahi ho kya itni lambi flight se?” Sameer finally broke the silence & awkwardness between them. She turned to face him & replied, “Aap bhi toh nahi thake hai?” He too turned to her, “Hmmmm… Sach kahu… thak toh bohot gaya hun main, par pataa nahi neend kyun nahi aa rahi?”
She hummed in response, “Mujhe bhi neend nahi aa rahi.” He asked, “Tumhara haath ab bhi dukh raha hai kya?” She denied instantly, “Nahi Sameer… ab haath nahi dukh raha, bas thodi sujan hai, wohh dheere dheere kamm ho jaayegi.”
“Lao… mujhe dekhne do…” Sameer said & moved closer to her to check if her arm was still paining. As he touched her bare arm, she shivered with his touch. Sameer too felt her slight shiver, but he didn’t react. Instead, he pressed her arm lightly to see if she felt any pain.
But she didn’t react or yelped in pain which confirmed that she was fine. Before he could take away his hand, Naina placed her hand on his & asked, “Yeh sab kya hai Sameer???” Though he understood the meaning behind her question, he acted innocent. “Kya, sab kya hai Naina??? Mujhe samajh nahi aaya???”
Naina wanted to hit him on his head & ask frankly but she refrained from asking directly. “Aap jaante hai main kya poochna chaah rahi hun Sameer…” He still acted innocent & asked, “Naina… jo bhi poochna hai seedhe seedhe poocho. Mujhe sach mein samajh nahi aa raha tum kya kehna chaah rahi ho.”
Taking a deep breath, she replied in irritation, “Kuch nahi… So jaaiye… Good night…” Jerking his hand away & turning away from him, she closed her eyes in a huff while Sameer smiled watching her angry avtaar.
Sameer knew what she was asking but for now, he didn’t want this conversation between them. He would give all the answers she desired, but all at the right time. His actions would speak louder than his words. He would slowly make her feel what he was doing & she would surely understand what he was upto. Closing his eyes, he drifted to sleep, planning his next course of action.
The next morning when Naina opened her eyes, she was taken aback. She could feel his breath on her cheeks. She lifted her eyes to see the most handsome man sleeping next to her, whose face was only few centimetres away from hers. His hand was wrapped around her stomach possessively & his leg had caged her on the bed.
Naina couldn’t move as she knew that he would get up even with her small movement. Her eyes rested on his charming face & she kept gazing at him lovingly. After few minutes, she heard his gruff voice, “Aur kitna ghurogi Naina???” Saying that, he opened his eyes & smiled watching her stunned expressions.
“Main jaanta hun ki main bohot handsome hun, par ab itna bhi mat dekho ki mujhe sharam aane lage…” He said teasing her while she blushed looking away instantly. She tried to get up but his hold on her tightened & she squirmed, “Sameer… Please uthne dijiye… bohot late ho gaya hai. Mujhe college aur aapko office jaane ko late ho jaayega.”
Sameer glanced at the clock in their room & groaned. He loosened his hold on her & she moved away quickly & rushed in the washroom. He gazed at her till she vanished behind the washroom door.
Ruffling his hair, he got up & started with few push-ups. It was a while that he hadn’t worked out properly, so he thought of doing some push-ups till his lovely wife appeared. Naina came out after half an hour & saw him working out in the balcony.
She stared at his body which shone with his sweat & drooled over him watching him working out so effortlessly. Sameer had sensed her presence, but he didn’t turn to look at her, instead he continued with his exercises.
After he finished his routine work out, he turned to his beautiful wife who was now standing in front of the mirror & combing her hair, her eyes glued to his reflection. He stood few feet away from her & held her gaze.
He took just a step towards her & she ran away from the room mumbling, “Main neeche jaakar dekhti hun naashta banaa hai yaa nahi…” Sameer chuckled once she left the room & went to freshen up. He got ready in the next half an hour & was downstairs with his Nanu at the dining table, waiting for the breakfast & his gorgeous wife.
Naina joined them on the dining table in the next ten minutes & Ramdhari served them breakfast. Sameer kept stealing glances of his beautiful wife throughout their meal while Nanu kept the conversation going about the NGO.
Once done with their meal, Naina & Sameer went back to their rooms to collects their respective bags. As they were seated in the car, Sameer tuned in the FM radio & a soothing song resonated…
Neele Neele Ambar Par…
Chand Jab Aaye…
Pyaar Barsaaye…
Mann Ko Tarsaaye…
Aisa Koi Saathi Ho…
Aisa Koi Premi Ho…
Pyaas Dil Ki Buja Jaaye…
Sameer hummed with the song while his wife enjoyed his voice more than the one playing on the speaker. As the song finished, she complimented him, “Sameer… aap sach mein bohot accha gaate hai. Aapne kabhi isse professionally pursue kyun nahi kiya?”
Without turning to her, he replied, “Naina… main guitar bajaata hun aur gaana gaata hun kyunki mujhe accha lagta hai, dil ko ek alag sa sukoon milta hai. Issi ne mujhe zinda rakha, issi ki wajah se meri zindagi mein thehraav aaya, sukoon mila. Agar main chaahta toh accha singer bann sakta tha, par maine nahi kiya, kyunki main Nanu ka sapna poora karna chaahta tha aur unka sapna tha ki main Maheshwari Industries ko one of the best companies banaun. Aur bas, main wohi kar raha hun…”
Naina wasn’t satisfied, so she asked again, “Aur aapka kya sapna hai Sameer? Kya aap kuch nahi banna chaahte? Aapne kuch toh socha hoga na, ki aap bade hokar kya banna chahte hai?” He thought before replying, “Meri beeti zindagi mein jo kuch bhi hua, uske baad maine apne liye koi sapna hi nahi dekha. Aaj main jo bhi hun wohh Nanu ki wajah se hun, toh unka sapna hi mera sapna bann gaya. Aur maine issi mein khush hun.”
Naina wanted to argue but she had to cut short as Sameer stopped the car at the entrance of her college. She saw Preeti & Kabir waiting for her. Sameer too joined her to meet his friend & his wife’s best friend.
Before they could greet each other, Preeti jumped in excitement & hugged Naina. Sameer was stunned for a moment but calmed down the next instant seeing the happiness on Preeti’s face. He raised his eyebrow at Kabir who just smiled in response.
“Preeti… Kya hua???”, Naina asked in confusion when her best friend left her. Preeti replied enthusiastically, “Naina… main bohot bohot khush hun… Tujhe pataa hai ki Bhai ‘Best Entrepreneur of the Year’ ke award ke liye nominate hue hain aur main yakeen se keh sakti hun ki Bhai hi yeh award jeetenge.”
Sameer came forward & congratulated his friend, “Congratulations Kabir & all the best…” He shook hands with Sameer & replied, “Fir toh tujhe bhi congratulations & all the best, kyunki tu bhi nominate hua hai na.”
Naina turned to him in swift motion & asked, “Sameer… Aapne mujhe pehle kyun nahi bataaya?” Taking her in a side hug, he replied, “Kyunki mujhe bhi nahi pataa tha Naina… mujhe bhi tumhari tarah abhi hi pataa chala hai. Maine kal se koi mails ya calls attend nahi kiye, isliye shaayad yeh skip ho gaya hoga.”
Preeti was surprised with the sudden display of affection from his side, but Kabir was happy with this scene. He had always wanted Sameer to accept his wife publicly & with this public display, he was sure that Sameer was definitely on the right path while Preeti was still sceptical about his motives.
Sameer kissed his wife’s forehead gently & whispered, “Apna khayaal rakhna aur main do baje tumhe lene ke liye car bhej dunga, toh sambhal kar ghar jaana. Shaam ko milenge. Take care.” Waving a goodbye to her & the siblings, he walked off towards his car.
Sameer waved at her again as his car sped away towards his office. Kabir too bid his goodbye & left towards his office. While entering the college, Preeti wrapped her hand around Naina’s arm & asked, “Yeh itna badlaav kab se ho gaya? Tera pati itna kaise badal gaya? Kya hua hai inn paanch dino mein? San Francisco jaakar itna parivartan, mujhe toh yakeen hi nahi ho raha ki yeh wohi Sameer hai jisne yeh condition rakhi thi ki tum dono sabke saamne pati patni ka rishta nahi jataaoge aur aaj dekho, kaise tujhe gale lagaa raha tha sab ke saamne.”
Naina herself didn’t have any answers to her best friend’s queries, so she remained mum while Preeti continued, “Poori college ke saamne Sameer ne tujhe hug kiya, aur toh aur forehead par kiss bhi kiya. Mujhe toh ab bhi yakeen nahi ho raha hai yeh sab. Kahin main koi sapna toh nahi dekh rahi na? Naina… Sach sach bataa kya hua tha San Francisco mein? Yeh Sameer Maheshwari itna kaisa badal gaye?”
Naina pinched her best friend on her arm & she yelped, “Naina… yeh kya kar rahi hai? Mujhe lag gayi naa?” Naina replied, “Tune hi abhi kahaa naa ki tujhe yeh sab sapne jaisa lag raha hai, isliye chimti kaati, taaki tujhe pataa chale ki yeh sab sapna nahi hai, yeh sab sach mein hua hai, yahi hakikat hai Preeti.”
Naina didn’t want to tell her best friend about what all happened in San Francisco the last two days. This would always be between the couple, no one else would know this. Sameer had told everything to Nanu & that was fine with her.
But if her best friend came to know about this, she definitely would give an earful to Sameer & she didn’t want that. Naina knew that Preeti didn’t trust Sameer even now & wasn’t on good terms with him, so she had to keep few things away from her best friend, especially when it’s related to her husband.
Pulling her away, Naina said, “Yeh sab chod aur chal jaldi, warna lecture miss ho jaayega.” The girls attended all the lectures one after the other & then went back home. As promised Sameer had sent his driver to pick up Naina & drop her home.
Once at home, Naina had lunch with Nanu & retired to her room to study which she had missed from the last few days. Sitting on the bed, she studied for some time & then slept for a while. After getting up, she spotted her diary in her handbag & smiled. It was a long time that she had written something in her diary.
Picking up the diary, she penned down…
Hiii Diary….
Kaisi ho tum???
Main toh thik hi hun…
Nahi… nahi…
Thik nahi, main toh bohot khush hun…
Jaanti ho, maine San Francisco mein kitna mazaa kiya…
Maine bohot jagah bhi dekhi…
Sameer le gaye the mujhe ghoomane aur mujhe unke saath ghoomna, waqt bitaana bohot accha lagaa…
Aisa lagaa jaise mere har sapne poore ho rahe ho…
Maine kabhi nahi socha tha ki main India ke bahaar kabhi jaa bhi paaungi…
Main toh pehle kabhi Ahmedabad ke baahar bhi nahi gayi thi…
Aur ab jab gayi bhi toh seedhe San Francisco…
Sab sapne jaise lag raha tha… Sameer ke saath ek hi kamre mein rehna, ek hi bed par sona aur poora din ghoomna…
Maine Sameer ke saath bitaaye hue ek ek pal ko mere dil mein qaid kar liye hai, jo main marte dum tak nahi bhoolungi…
Yeh sab haseen yaadein hamesha mere saath rahengi…
Pataa nahi shaadi ki pehli anniversary main Sameer ke saath manaaungi yaa unke bina, par ab se har ek pal jo bhi unke saath bitaaungi, usse mere dil mein basaa lungi…
Jab se hum San Francisco se laute hai, Sameer kuch badal se gaye hai…
Matlab… accha badlaav hai, par Sameer yeh sab kyun kar rahe hai???
Aisa kya hua hai jisse Sameer ne unki almari mein mere kapdon ke liye jagah kar di aur toh aur mujhe unke saath unhi ke bed par sone ko kahaa???
Aisa lag raha hai jaise unhone apni zindagi mein mere liye jagah banaa li ho…
Kya maine unki jaan bachaayi isliye toh yeh sab nahi kar rahe???
Yaa unhe bhi mujhse pyaar hone lagaa hai???
Kya unko bhi mujhse pyaar ho gaya hai, jaise main unse karti hun???
Nahi… nahi…
Sameer kabhi mujhse pyaar nahi kar sakte…
Main unki dost zaroor bann gayi hun, par unka pyaar nahi bann sakti…
Sameer kabhi mujhe uss nazar se dekh hi nahi sakte…
Unhe toh ekdum modern si aur unke status ki ladki se hi pyaar ho sakta hai…
Lekin agar sach mein Sameer ko mujhse pyaar ho gaya toh???
Toh…
Toh…
Main bohot khush ho jaaungi…
Bohot bohot bohot khush…
Few tears rolled down her cheeks & she continued writing while wiping her tears…
Naina… khuli aankhon se sapne mat dekh…
Sameer mujhse kabhi pyaar nahi karenge…
Jo bhi waqt main unke saath guzaarungi, mujhe unhi lamhon ke sahare apni aage ki zindagi bitaani hogi…
Toh jyaada soch mat aur jo ho raha hai usse hone de…
Taking a deep breath, she calmed down her raging heart…
Chalo Diary…
Abhi thodi der aur padhai kar leti hun…
Fir waapis jaldi milenge…
Bye…
Naina closed the diary with a smile & placed it back safely in her handbag. She got back with her studies till evening & then she joined Nanu for the evening tea. She wasn’t allowed in the kitchen as instructed by her dear husband which Nanu & Ramdhari followed religiously.
Sameer returned home early & joined Nanu & Naina in the living room after freshening up quickly. Naina was happy to see her husband home so early. When they sat for dinner, Sameer updated Nanu about the ‘Best Entrepreneur of the Year Award’, where he & Kabir were nominated.
Nanu wished him all the best & was very much sure that his grandson would win this award as he deserved it. Naina too encouraged him & they all relished his favourite dishes heartily. After dinner, they retired to their rooms.
One evening, Naina had gone to visit the NGO & Sameer came home early. He had got a surprise gift for her & he was sure that his wife would love it. Nanu too was excited to see the reaction of Naina once she was home.
It was after an hour or so, when Naina arrived. She saw that Sameer & Nanu were discussing some project & she walked towards their room. As she entered, she saw a something placed on the table near the couch which was covered with a red cloth.
Naina walked swiftly towards it & pulled the cloth away. She gasped seeing the gift & tears made its way in her eyes instantly. “Kaisa lagaa yeh surprise?”, she heard her husband’s whisper.
She turned instantly & hugged him tightly. “Thank you so much Sameer… yeh… yeh… meri life ka sabse best gift hai… Aapne… aapne yeh yaad rakha yahi mere liye bohot badi baat hai Sameer…”
Naina sat down on her knees & played with the small fishes in the fish tank which her husband had gifted her now. She had a radiant smile on her face throughout while Sameer adored her more.
Days passed & the relationship between Naina & Sameer gradually progressed. Sameer took care of Naina’s each & every need which surprised his friends, especially Preeti. Others were aware that once Sameer took a step towards his wife, he would surely treat Naina as his queen.
Preeti had started to treat Sameer politely after watching his care for her best friend, though she didn’t trust him much. For Naina, she started to come around Sameer as she saw her best friend was happy with his presence & she didn’t want to spoil whatever was brooming between them. She could clearly see that Sameer was genuine this time, but she didn’t want to give in. She had a nagging feeling about all this which she herself couldn’t understand.
It was the weekend when the ‘Best Entrepreneur of the Year Award’ was going to be announced & everyone seemed nervous & excited. Sameer & Kabir weren’t much nervous as they knew that the best & the deserving one would be presented with that award.
Preeti & Anjali had taken Naina with them for shopping for this prestigious ceremony. But Naina wasn’t sure if Sameer would like her to accompany him. She was doubtful as she remembered her conditions which specifically mentioned that she couldn’t declare their marital status to the world.
Naina thought many times that if he had mentioned clearly to not to disclose their relationship to the outside world then why did he take her to San Francisco & introduce her as his wife. Was the non-disclosure condition of their marriage applied to her only?
With all this confusion in her mind, she had joined her friends a day ago before the award function for shopping but didn’t buy anything, citing that she didn’t like anything. Her friends weren’t aware of her thoughts & believed her.
On the day of the function, she was nervous as neither Sameer had mentioned to her about the function, nor he had asked her to join. She wasn’t sure if she should go along with him for this important function.
Nanu, Munna, Pandit & her friends were going to attend it, but she wasn’t sure if she would be joining them or not. All the friends were having lunch at Sameer’s place, when Preeti asked, “Naina… tune kal kuch shopping hi nahi ki, toh aaj kya pehenne waali hai?”
This drew everyone’s attention while Naina fidgeted with the spoon. “Wohh… meri thodi tabiyat thik nahi lag rahi toh shaayad aaj main nahi aa paaungi.” Preeti got up from her place & was next to her in an instant before anyone could say anything.
“Kya hua hai tujhe???”, she said keeping her palm on her forehead to check for the temperature. “Bukhaar toh nahi hai???” Anjali asked, “Kya hua Naina?” Naina looked at all the worried faces & replied nervously, “Wohh… mujhe headache ho raha hai.”
Pandit added, “Naina… main abhi tumhe tablet deta hun, thoda aaram karlo, shaam tak thik ho jaayega. Fir toh aa sakti ho naa???” All the while Sameer kept looking at his wife who seemed nervous about something & he had caught on her lying. He knew that she was lying about the headache, he could see it on her face.
Naina replied, “Maine tablet already li hai, par ab tak kuch asar nahi hua. Aisa hi raha toh sar dard aur bhi badh jaayega, aur main nahi chaahti ki meri wajah se function mein koi problem ho. Isliye main nahi aaungi function mein.”
Nanu too felt that something was going on in her mind & she was deliberately trying to get away from the function. He remained silent & glanced at his grandson who was staring his wife with a blank expressionless face.
No one could make Naina agree to attend the function while Sameer & Nanu watched everything silently. It was after their lunch, she retired to her room to study, when Sameer walked to her & sat beside her.
Taking the book away from her hand, he asked, “Neeche sab se jhooth kyun bola ki tumhe headache ho raha hai aur tum function mein kyun nahi aaogi?” Naina was stunned knowing that he had caught her with her lies.
She stammered, “Wohh… wohh… sach mein… sach mein mujhe… mujhe headache ho raha hai…” Sameer glared at her, “Jhooth mat bolo Naina… Ab main tumhe itna toh jaanne lagaa hun ki mujhe pataa chale ki kab tumhe headache ho raha hai aur kab nahi. Toh ab sach sach bolo, neeche jhooth kyun bola? Aur tum function mein kyun nahi aaogi?”
Naina lowered her eyes & few tears slipped from her eyes. Seeing his wife in tears, Sameer was instantly alert, “Naina… kya hua??? Tum ro kyun rahi ho?” He took her in a hug & rubbed her back, till her sobs subsided.
Still hiccupping a little, she looked in his deep brown chocolaty eyes & spoke, “Kis hakk se aapke saath chalun main Sameer??? Ek dost bann kar yaa aapki biwi bann kar???” Sameer was confused with her statement & she continued, “Aapne hi toh agreements mein condition rakhi thi ki hum kabhi apni shaadi ke baare mein kisiko nahi bataayenge. Baaharwaalon ke saamne hum ajnabee honge.”
Sameer cursed himself while she spoke, “Aaj function mein hamare saare dost toh honge hi aur Nanaji bhi. Fir aapke business acquaintances bhi toh honge. Nanaji sabke saamne mujhe aapki wife bataa denge toh aapko accha nahi lagega, isliye main function mein nahi aana chaahti aur… aur…”
Sameer coaxed her, “Aur… aur kya Naina???” She lowered her eyes & asked, “Aapne bhi toh mujhse nahi kahaa saath chalne ko? Fir main kaise aa sakti hun?” Sameer didn’t know what to answer her, but he cursed himself for making her feel so uncomfortable.
Taking her face in his palms, he caressed her cheeks gently & replied, “Main jaanta hun ki ab bhi tumhare dimaag mein wohh agreements aur conditions aate honge. Itne mahino se hum saath reh rahe hai, toh kya tum mujhe itna hi samajh paayi Naina? Kya maine kabhi bhi wohh agreements ya conditions ke baare mein tumse kuch kahaa?”
“Hum husband wife hai aur sabse acche dost bhi, toh kya tumhe lagta hai ki main tumhe apne saath itne important function mein nahi le jaaunga? Naina… tum meri life mein special ho, bohot special ho… toh ab yeh agreements aur conditions hamare beech nahi aane chahiye.”
Kissing her softly on her forehead, he whispered, “Chalo… ab jaldi se acchi waali smile de do aur…” Naina probed, “Aur…” Sameer gazed in her eyes lovingly & asked, “Aur Mrs Naina Sameer Maheshwari… kya aap mere saath aaj shaam iss award function mein chalengi???”
Lowering her lashes, she blushed & nodded in acceptance. He mumbled, “Paagal ho tum Naina… itni se baat ke liye itne bade bade aansoon?” Naina hit him on his chest lightly & hugged him happily.
Sameer rubbed her back slowly & asked, “Tumne kal kuch shopping kyun nahi ki Preeti aur Anjali ke saath???” She lied again, “Kuch pasand hi nahi aaya???” Tightening his hold on her, he spoke, “Fir se jhooth… Meri wife ko kuch pasand hi na aaye, yeh ho hi nahi sakta.”
Naina smiled & she replied, “Kuch lene ka mann hi nahi hua. Main aapke saath jaaungi yaa nahi, jab yahi sure nahi tha, toh kya kharidti main?” He understood her now & just hummed in response.
Looking at the clock, Naina mumbled, “Abhi itna time bhi nahi hai ki main mall jaakar kuch accha pehenne ko le aaun.” Sameer stood up & walked towards his cupboard. His sudden walkout confused Naina & she kept staring at him.
He came back in the next few minutes after searching for the bag he had bought months ago for his lovely wife. He forwarded the bag towards her & said, “Yeh main bohot pehle hi tumhare liye laaya tha. Tab dene ka koi mauka nahi mila, toh ab shaayad tumhare kuch kaam aa jaaye.”
Naina opened the bag & was stunned to find a beautiful saree which included the blouse & the underskirt. She jumped in happiness & hugged him tightly. “Thank you, Sameer… Thank you so so much… aapne yeh saree kab li Sameer?”
Pointing towards the bag, he said, “Aur bhi kuch hai andar, wohh bhi dekh lo.” Naina opened the bag again & was again stunned seeing the contents. The bag consisted of all the matching jewellery she would need. Then she remembered that he had done the same thing when he had brought the black netted saree for the fresher’s party.
She gazed at him & asked, “Kya… kya aapne yeh saree uss black saree ke saath li thi Sameer, jo humne fresher’s party ke liye mall se li thi???” Sameer smiled at her & agreed, “Haannn… Naina… mujhe tab yeh bhi saree pasand aa gayi thi aur fir maine yeh bhi le li. Tumhe kahaa ki main wallet shop mein bhool gaya hun aur fir shop mein jaakar isse kharid li aur uss salesgirl ko kahaa ki iss blouse ko bhi tumhare measurements ke hisaab se fitting kar de.”
Naina gasped hearing the revelations & she remembered the whole shopping thing. Then suddenly something struck her mind & she asked, “Aapne hi uss salesgirl ko jaanbujhkar aapke office ka address diya tha naa, jisse mujhe yeh sab pataa naa chale???”
Sameer nodded, “Haannn… maine hi mere office ka address diya tha. Mujhe yeh saree bohot acchi lagi thi aur main jaanta tha ki tum aise hi isse nahi logi, isliye sahi mauke ka intezaar kar raha tha. Aur dekho, aaj wohh mauka bhi mil gaya.”
Holding her by her shoulder, he asked, “Kya tum aaj ke function mein yeh saree pehnogi Naina???” She blinked the tears away & nodded, “Haannn… Main yahi saree pehnungi Sameer.”
Looking at the saree again, she spoke, “Maanna padega Sameer… aapki choice bohot acchi hai…” Sameer gazed at her with a smile & replied, “Jaanta hun, meri choice bohot acchi hai aur yeh rang tum par bohot accha lagega.”
Naina blushed & looked away instantly while her husband adored the red tinge on her cheeks. Shaking his head, he said, “Chalo… thoda padhai karlo, fir shaam ko jaldi ready bhi hona hai. Function mein saat baje pohonchna hai.”
Naina picked her book again & started studying while Sameer started working on his laptop. It was already five in the evening when Naina was back in the room with his favourite coffee & snacks. “Chaliye Sameer… Pehle coffee pi lijiye aur kuch khaa lijiye. Aapne thik se kuch khaaya nahi tha lunch mein.”
Pulling her next to him, he said, “Toh madam, aap bhi kuch kha lijiye kyunki tumne bhi kuch nahi khaaya tha lunch mein…” Naina bit her lower lip which didn’t escape her husband’s eyes. She looked at him, “Wohh… sorry… maine lunch mein sabse jhooth bolaa.”
Sameer smiled at her & said, “Ab wohh sab bhool jao, aur jadli se kha lo, fir ready bhi toh hona hai. Waise bhi sabse jyada time tumhe hi lagega ready hone mein.” Naina squinted her eyes at him, “Jii nahi… sabse jyaada time toh aap hi lagaate hai taiyaar hone mein.”
“Accha… main late karta hun…” Sameer tickled her & she squealed in peals of laughter. “Sameer… bas… bas… kijiye…” Tears sprung in her eyes & finally after few minutes, Sameer left her. Both of them rested on the bed for some more time & then relished the coffee & the sandwiches made by her.
Sameer was the first one to freshen up & get ready. He headed downstairs to give his wife some privacy to get ready. Nanu too was ready & was delighted to hear that even Naina was going to accompany them to the award function.
It was already six in the evening, but there was no trace of Naina. Sameer glanced at his wristwatch again to check the time & he mumbled to himself, “Bola tha naa ki Naina ko ready hone mein time lagega.”
At that precise moment, he heard the tinkling sound & he saw her descending the stairs. All the air whooshed out of his lungs & he stood rooted to his spot watching his wife. She was ready to kill his poor heart today.
Naina looked stunning in the bright red net saree. What caught Sameer’s attention was her red painted luscious lips. As usual Naina hadn’t applied much make-up, yet she looked gorgeous & breath taking. Sameer’s gaze didn’t leave her all the while.
Nanu tried to control his laughter watching his grandson’s stunned face & whispered, “Sameer… Mooh band karle, warna makkhi andar ghoos jaayegi.” Sameer came back to his senses & blinked his eyes to come back to reality.
As Naina reached them, Nanu complimented her, “Naina… tum bohot acchi lag rahi ho aur mujhe accha lagaa ki sar dard hone ke bawajood tum hamare saath function attend kar rahi ho. Ab tabiyat toh thik hai na?”
Naina glanced at Sameer & didn’t have a heart to lie to Nanu, so Sameer took over, “Haannn… Nanu… ab Naina bilkul thik hai. Lunch ke baad medicine di thi maine aur usne aaraam bhi kiya tha. Toh ab thik hai Naina…”
Naina felt guilty that Sameer had to lie on her behalf. Nanu patted her head gently & said, “Chalo… ab hume nikalna chahiye warna late ho jaayenge.” Nanu as usual took the front seat leaving the back seat for the couple.
Naina too was stunned to watch her husband in a black three-piece suit which he had paired with a red tie. She smiled to herself thinking, “Sameer ne yeh red tie meri saree se match karne ke liye toh nahi pehni?”
Her thoughts broke as he whispered near her ear, sending shivers down her spine, “Mrs Naina Sameer Maheshwari… aaj bohot hot lag rahi ho iss red saree mein…”
