CHAPTER 36
"Kya tum mere saath California chalogi???" Naina stared at her dashing husband. She never thought that he would ask her to accompany him abroad. She was still in shock rather than happy to hear it from Sameer.
Nanu watched the scene with amusement & hoped that Naina would agree for it. When Sameer got no reply from her, he tapped her shoulder lightly. "Naina... tum thik ho naa? Kuch bol kyun nahi rahi? Maine poocha ki tum mere saath Calfornia chalogi?"
Her husband's sweet voice broke her reverie & she blinked her eyes twice to bring herself back to reality. She smiled at Sameer & Nanu & replied, "Main aapke saath California aa toh sakti hun par fir Nanaji yahaan akele kaise rahenge? Wohh bhi poore paanch dinon ke liye?"
Sameer glanced at Nanu who was the only one who could make Naina agree for this. Nanu had already anticipated this & spoke to her calmly, "Naina... Tum meri chinta mat karo. Main toh pehle bhi kai baar akela raha hun. Sameer toh hamesha hi business deals ke liye abroad jaate hi rehta hai. Aur Ramdhari toh yahaan mere saath rahega hi."
"Tum Sameer ke saath jao warna yeh mahashay jaldi waapis nahi aayenge. Main jaanta hun ki mera ladla naati wahaan jaakar apne kaam mein itna busy ho jaayega ki apni sehat ka aur khaane peene ka bilkul bhi khayaal nahi rakhega. Tum uske saath hogi toh mujhe bhi tasalli rahegi ki mera Sameer sahi haathon mein hai."
Naina smiled, "Thik hai Nanaji... main Sameer ke saath jaaungi par aapko mujhse vaada karna hoga ki aap roz khaana aur davaai time se khayenge aur kahin baahar nahi jaayenge. Jo bhi kaam hoga wohh ghar se hi karenge. Kariye vaada..." She forwarded her palm towards him & Nanu blinked back his tears & placed his palm on hers, "Thik hai meri maa... main time se khaana aur davaai kha lunga aur koi kaam nahi karunga, bas ghar pe hi rahunga. Ab thik hai???"
Naina nodded with a smile & agreed to go to California with her husband. Sameer saw their bonding with misty eyes & prayed to the Almighty to always safeguard & protect this relation. He was very much happy that his wife would accompany him to California & he could spend some quality time with her.
Once they were done with their meal, Nanu & Sameer retired to their respective rooms. When Naina entered her room, she saw Sameer was busy doing something on his laptop. She freshened up quickly & started working on her laptop too.
After an hour or so, Sameer got up from his bed & walked towards her. Sitting beside her, he said, "Naina... maine kal ki flight bookings kar li hai. Hamari flight kal raat saadhe dus baje ki hai toh hume saat baje tak ghar se nikalna hoga. Koi direct flight nahi hai San Francisco ki, isliye flight Delhi se change karni hogi. Hum next day shaam ko San Francisco pohchenge."
"Abhi kaafi late ho gaya hai, toh hum kal packing kar lenge." Naina sat there in silence feeling a little nervous. Her husband had caught her nervousness too & kept his hand on her fidgeting ones, "Kya hua Naina? Tum nervous kyun ho rahi ho? Ummm... mere saath akele jaana hai isliye nervous ho rahi ho kya?"
Naina met his gaze, "Nahi Sameer... Aisi baat nahi hai... Wohh... wohh actually main aaj tak kabhi plane mein nahi baithi hun, isliye thoda nervous feel kar rahi hun aur kuch nahi..." Sameer should've known this. This never occurred to him.
Sameer took her hand between his palms & replied, "Main samajh sakta hun par har cheez hum kabhi na kabhi pehli baar karte toh hai na? Tum fikar mat karo, main hun naa tumhare saath. Main tumhe sambhaal lunga. Mujh pe bharosa kar sakti ho tum."
Naina's nervousness flew away hearing his words. "Mujhe aap par bharosa hai Sameer, isliye toh aapke saath abroad jaane ke liye taiyaar hun. Yeh mera pehla foreign trip hoga Sameer, isliye jitni khushi ho rahi hai na, usse jyada darr bhi lag raha hai."
The trust that Naina had shown on him, melted his heart & he took her in a warm hug. He kissed her forehead softly, "Tumhe darne ki bilkul zarurat nahi hai Naina... Main rahunga na tumhare saath. Chalo ab so jao... hume kal jaldi bhi uthna hai."
"Goodnight, Sameer...", she whispered in his arms while he replied with a cheek kiss, "Goodnight Naina..." That night both of them couldn't sleep as one was happy while the other one was way too excited for this first foreign trip.
The next morning, both of them got up well before their alarms could go off & were ready for the day. Naina helped Sameer in his packing & then packed her bag too. Keeping all the western outfits in her bag & the necessary apparels, her packing was done.
Sameer went to office for few hours to do some final checking for his presentation. Munna & Pandit too added their feedback & Sameer made the necessary changes. It was evening when he returned home with all the files that he would require for the meeting in San Francisco.
Anjali & Preeti along with Kabir had come to meet Naina after she informed them about their trip to San Francisco. They had enjoyed their favourite lunch together with Nanu. When Sameer came back, he saw all of them seated in the living room.
Though he was irritated with Kabir's presence to be precise, he didn't show it on his face. Keeping a neutral face, he greeted everyone & went to freshen up. Naina followed behind him to their room & was surprised to see that he was packing his files in his luggage bag.
"Sameer... aap rehne dijiye, main kar dungi. Aap fresh ho jaaiye." Hearing her voice, he turned, "Maine files rakh di hai Naina aur main jab tak fresh hokar aata hun, tab tak tum please mere liye coffee banaa dogi?"
She nodded & left downstairs to make his favourite coffee. By the time Sameer joined them in the living room, Munna & Pandit too had arrived. Everyone relished the snacks & beverages & left towards their homes after bidding the couple a happy journey.
Naina had blushed recalling how Anjali had teased her saying that this was their mini honeymoon. They were far away from reality though. The couple had never indulged in any kind of intimacy except for their hot passionate kisses, even after six months of their marital life.
Naina & Sameer rechecked everything once again before leaving for the airport. They had a light dinner of just dal-rice before leaving towards the airport after taking Nanu's blessings. They reached the airport in the next half an hour. They went through the initial check-in & waited for the announcement of their flight.
Naina took in the interiors of the airport & looked around everything keenly. Sameer saw her wife watching her surroundings with a lot of interest. But he knew that she was still a little nervous about all this.
They still had some time before they could board their flight. He asked, "Ummm... Tum kuch logi??? I mean... coffee... Tumhari banaayi hui coffee ke saamne jyaada acchi nahi hogi, par abhi ke liye chalaana padega."
Naina smiled, "Thik hai." Sameer walked towards a café & ordered two coffees for them. After ten minutes, he was back & handed a cup of hot steaming coffee to his wife. Though Naina didn't like that coffee at all but she kept the smile on her face intact all the while.
They boarded the flight after the announcement was made. Sameer kept her close as he knew she was too nervous & excited at the same time. For him, this was all normal but after watching his wife observing everything around her so minutely, he too started enjoying the view which was all regular for him.
As Naina entered the plane, she was awestruck. She wanted to scream in excitement after watching the indoors of the plane for the very first time. Controlling her enthusiasm, she walked ahead.
When the airhostess greeted her, Naina stood there dumbfounded watching her. She had seen airhostesses in many movies, but right now, when she was standing in front of one, she couldn't look away.
Naina scanned her from head to toe. Sameer who was standing behind her, tapped on her shoulder & whispered, "Naina... mooh band karlo warna makkhi andar chali jaayegi." Naina came back to reality & turned to look at her husband who was trying to control his laughter.
Coming back to her senses, she greeted the airhostess with a genuine smile & walked ahead. Sameer entered right behind her & clashed with her. Before she could lose her balance & fall down, Sameer caught hold of his wife's hand & pulled her straight in his arms.
When Naina entered the seating area, she was again lost watching the seating arrangements in the plane which looked quite different from whatever she had seen in the movies. She had stopped to watch them & suddenly Sameer had clashed with her from behind. Before Sameer could say anything to his wife, another airhostess guided them to their seats while Naina kept eyeing the way she was carrying herself & talking to others.
Naina was on cloud nine when she was pointed to sit at the window seat. Sameer sat beside her & watched her silently. He was loving the way his wife was enjoying till now. He knew it was just some more time & then her panic was going to be on another level.
Naina met his gaze & asked, "Sameer... maine toh filmon mein dekha hai ki teen-teen seats hoti hai, par yahaan toh bas do-do seats hi hai aur wohh bhi bohot badi hai. Toh jo movies mein dikhaate hai, kya wohh galat hai?"
Taking her hand in his, he replied, "Jo tumne movies mein dekha wohh galat toh nahi tha Naina. Jahaan teen-teen seats hoti hai na, wohh economy class hai aur hum jahaan baithe hai, wohh business class hai. Yahaan ki seats bohot comfortable hoti hai aur hume yahaan complimentary drinks aur accha accha khaana bhi milega."
Naina asked hesitantly, "Iska matlab business class ki tickets bhi mehengi hi hongi na compared to economy class?" Sameer nodded but didn't let her ask the next question as he knew she would ask about the actual price difference too.
She was about to ask again but the airhostess appeared & asked them to buckle up their seat belts. After few minutes, there was an announcement too that the flight was ready to take off & everyone was requested to put on their seat belts. Sameer conveniently buckled up his seat belt & turned to his wife to help.
But he was amused & surprised to see that Naina had already buckled up & was holding the arm rest in nervousness. He knew that his wife was nervous & would start panicking the moment the plane would start moving.
"Naina...", he called out softly. He saw her opening her eyes slowly & when he met her eyes, he saw her orbs misting instantly. "Sameer... Mujhe... mujhe... darr lag raha hai... main... main pehli baar aise plane mein baithi hun."
Sameer kept his hand over hers & rubbed it softly. "Maine kahaa tha naa ki main hun tumhare saath, tumhe darne ki koi zarurat nahi hai Naina. I'm here with you." Naina was lost in his soft deep brown eyes.
Sameer knew that the plane had started moving & he had to keep Naina busy. "Waise Naina... tumhe dekhkar toh nahi lag raha ki tum pehli baar plane mein baithi ho. Dekho kaise bina meri help ke tumne seat belt band kar liya. Mujhe lagaa shaayad mujhe hi band karna padega par tum toh fast nikli..."
Sameer moved & placed his hand on top of her hand on her stomach. Naina shivered with the touch & continued holding his burning gaze. Sameer's eyes dropped to her lips once & again met hers.
The slow rubbing of his fingers on her hand was creating a lot of havoc in her system & his burning gaze wasn't helping much. Sameer wanted to close the distance & kiss her senseless till she forgot all about her fear, but he knew that he couldn't just do it here in the presence of the other co-passengers & the crew.
He continued rubbing her hand & looked into her eyes deeply as if he wanted to let her know of his desires. After few minutes, Sameer glanced towards the window & smiled. His mission accomplished.
Sameer leaned a little & whispered, "Window se baahar dekho, nazaara bohot accha hai." The sweet love bubble was gone & she turned her gaze to look outside. She sat there stunned watching the beauty of the sky & the land below. She peeped down to watch her city which looked so small from above & was shining like a sky itself due to the lights.
The smile was back on her face & she turned with a squeal towards her husband, "Sameer... Dekhiye... Sab kitna chota chota dikh raha hai. Main... main baadlon ke beech mein hun, aasmaan main hun. Mujhe yakeen hi nahi ho raha hai Sameer... I still can't believe it. Aapne mujhe distract kiya taaki mera darr kamm ho jaaye? Aapne yeh sab mere liye kiya? Aap... aap..."
Before she could say more, Sameer kept his palm over her mouth, silencing her totally. He was satisfied seeing her smile & excitement back. "Ssshhh... Ab kuch mat bolo, just enjoy your first trip." Before he could say more, there was an announcement that they could unbuckle their seat belts. As easy it seemed to buckle it up before, Naina now couldn't even open it at all.
Sameer saw his wife trying to open the seat belt but wasn't much successful. He enjoyed her irritation towards the seat belt & tried to control his laughter. Naina cursed some more & then looked at her handsome husband.
"Aap yunhi haste rahenge yaa yeh seat belt kholne mein help bhi karenge?" Sameer raised an eyebrow, "Mujhe lagaa tumhe aata hoga, jaise tumne pehle seat belt ko band kar diya tha, waise hi tumhe isse kholna bhi aata hoga, isliye main sirf dekh raha tha."
Naina glared at her husband who then helped her in unbuckling her seat belt. She replied a little embarrassed, "Wohhh... wohhh... maine yeh YouTube par dekha tha, isliye pataa tha kaise band karna hai aur ab mujhse khul nahi raha."
The moment it was taken care off, Naina hugged her husband & whispered, "Thank you..." As she was about to move back, Sameer tightened his hold & whispered, "Thanks aise nahi bolte... Bataaun kaise bolte hai???"
Sameer loosened his grip & leaned towards her lips, but before he could do anything, they heard someone clearing her throat behind them. They left each other instantly to see the hot airhostess standing near his seat.
"Would you like to eat anything Sir???", the airhostess asked Sameer showing her beautiful charming smile & ignored Naina altogether. Sameer was used to this, so he didn't even glance at her once. Instead, he asked his wife, "Naina... kuch khaaogi???" Naina continued looking at the air hostess who didn't like the way Sameer ignored her & was asking the girl sitting next to him for her preferences.
"Ummm... mujhe sandwich chalega." Sameer turned to the airhostess & replied, "Two sandwiches & two bottles of water for us please." The air hostess again smiled widely at him & replied, "Sure sir... will be back with your order soon."
As Sameer turned to his wife, Naina saw the airhostess glaring at her. Naina saw the way she was walking with a bounce in each of her steps. Naina didn't like the way this airhostess was behaving with her. Naina eyed her own attire, she had worn blue denims which she had paired with a red full sleeves top.
No doubt that the airhostess looked much much better than her. Naina thought, "Dikhne mein toh ekdum heroine jaisi hai, par harkatein toh ekdum villain jaisi hai. Kaise ghoor rahi thi mujhe, jaise abhi ke abhi khaa jaayegi. Agar agli baar isne mere malai ke katore ki taraf dekha bhi na toh main iski aankhen noch lungi."
Naina didn't realize that her husband was still watching her intently & she continued cursing the other woman. "Ho gaya tumhara???", she heard Sameer's voice & she met his curious gaze, "I mean ho gaya tumhara usse dekhkar toh zara meri taraf bhi thoda dhyaan de do."
Naina bit her lower lip as she was almost caught red-handed. Though Sameer was close to her thoughts but he didn't know what his sweet lovely wife was doing in her thoughts to the other girl. She was ready to poke the airhostess's eyes who was ogling at her dashing husband & was even trying to flirt.
Within five minutes, the airhostess was back with their sandwiches & water. She handed over the trays to them & asked in a seductive way, "Anything else Sir?" Without meeting her gaze, Sameer replied, "Nothing for now..."
The air hostess lingered for some more time & spoke, "Sir... My name is Kavya Tripathy. If you need anything, then you can call me. I will be around." Before Sameer could reply, Naina spoke, "Thank you, Miss Kavya. I don't think we would need anything more for now. So, you can leave. I'm sure you have to look after the other co-passengers too."
Sameer smiled at his wife & got busy relishing the tasteless sandwich. The airhostess glared at Naina yet again & Naina gave her a winning smile. After two hours, their plane landed at Delhi. Even this time, Sameer kept her busy with her NGO talks & she didn't even realize when the plane landed.
They had to wait at the Delhi airport for three more hours for another flight to San Francisco. Sameer & Naina enjoyed the three hours window shopping at the airport. They even had some coffee which tasted much better than the previous one she had at the Ahmedabad airport.
On the flight to San Francisco, Naina asked, "Sameer... Aapki meeting kab hai???" He was feeling a bit sleepy, "Meeting parso hai Naina... Hum kal shaam saadhe che baje tak San Francisco pohonch jaayenge. Maine already hamari hotel bookings bhi kar li hai." He turned to face her.
Naina could see that her husband was struggling to keep his eyes open. She was happy that there was no airhostess here who was flaunting her assets in front of her husband openly. "Ab tum bhi thoda so jao aur mujhe bhi sone do. Bohot neend aa rahi hai Naina..."
Naina saw Sameer reclining his seat & then helped her with the same. Sameer pressed the button above him & the air hostess appeared. He asked her for a blanket & she was back with it in two minutes. Sameer put the blanket on his wife as he knew that she won't be able to bear the air conditioning throughout the night & then he switched the lights off.
Naina pulled the blanket over her & slept after few minutes. After few hours, she opened her eyes & saw Sameer shivering a little. She wanted to call the air hostess, but she thought of not disturbing her & shifted close to her husband.
Pushing the arm rest out of her way, she put half of the blanket over him. Naina watched Sameer's shivering stopping after a while & she exhaled deeply. After that, she too didn't know when she fell asleep.
When there were some noises around, Naina got up with a jerk, only to find herself wrapped around Sameer's strong arm. She tried to wake him up, "Sameer... Sameer... Uthiye... dekhiye susbah ho gayi hai..."
Sameer opened his eyes slowly & met her blushing gaze. He realized that he had pressed her to himself. Sameer asked, "Main... tum... aise... kaise???" Naina flushed under his gaze & tried to move away, only to land on his chest again.
"Good morning, Naina...", his husky voice sent shiver down her body & she replied softly, "Good morning, Sameer..." As she tried to move away. He asked again, "Pehle batao, hum... aise... saath mein kaise soye?"
"Wohhh... der raat meri neend toot gayi aur maine dekha ki aap... aap thand se kaanp rahe the. Isliye maine yeh blanket share kiya aapke saath. Fir pataa nahi, meri aankh kab lag gayi aur main bhi so gayi." Sameer was amused with her reply & asked further, "Tum airhostess ko bulaa sakti thi naa? Toh usse kyun nahi bulaaya? Waise iss flight ki koi bhi airhostess mujhse flirt nahi kar rahi thi..."
Naina flushed yet again & replied, "Wohh... main unhe disturb nahi karna chahti thi, isliye maine hi apna blanket aap par daal diya." Sameer wanted to tease her more but he knew that they weren't alone in the flight.
Sameer loved the warmth that he was wrapped in. He didn't understand if the warmth was because of the blanket or his wife. He reluctantly loosened his hold & Naina was out of his arms in a second.
He moved away the blanket & got up. He brought back their seats in the sitting position & asked his wife, "Main fresh hone jaa raha hun... Ummmmm... Tum bhi chalo, tumhe bhi fresh hona hoga na?"
She too walked behind him to the rest room. "Tum jao pehle, fir main jaata hun." Though Naina wanted to protest, but her urgency was quite evident as she rushed inside the rest room, leaving her chuckling husband behind.
After they freshened up, the airhostess returned with a tray of beverages & breakfast for everyone. Once they were done with their meal, they watched some comedy movies back-to-back on the small plasma tv.
Naina was very much happy with her first trip in the plane & now she was looking forward to reach San Francisco. Their flight landed at around half past six. This time though Naina wasn't as much nervous as before. Infact she was peeping outside the window to see the glimpse of the plane landing on the ground.
Sameer was content watching his wife happy & excited for her first foreign trip. For him, all this was regular as he had travelled a lot but watching the excitement of his wife, he was happy to bring her here.
Though he had come for a business meeting here which was scheduled for only two days, he had decided to take Naina for sightseeing. If he would've come alone, he wouldn't have stayed for long. He had deliberately extended his stay so that he could spend some quality time with his lovely wife.
As they collected their luggage & walked towards the exit, Sameer saw someone holding a board with his name written on it. He immediately approached him & then they settled in the car which was send for them by the hotel management.
As the car drove towards the hotel, Naina took in the view of the new city. She had never ever dared to even dream about all this. This was almost like a magic. She turned to look at her husband who was busy going through the messages & mails on his mobile.
Within few minutes, the car entered the huge 'Hotel Hyatt'. Naina widened her eyes at the view in front of her. She stuttered, "Hum... hum... yahaan rehnewaale hai???" Sameer wrapped his arm around her waist & whispered, "Hum agle paanch dinon ke liye yahin rehne waale hai sweetheart..."

CHAPTER 37
"Hum agle paanch dinon ke liye yahin rehne waale hai sweetheart..." Naina shivered hearing those words, especially the endearment he had used for her. Sameer was calm throughout but his wife wasn't in a proper frame of her mind. His words rang in her mind till she entered the hotel reception.
Her eyes widened when she took in the interiors of the hotel. Sameer walked towards the receptionist while Naina turned around to check out the beautiful exotic view. She sat down on the couch nearby & took in her surroundings. The lights that gleamed gave another effect to the exotic hotel.
After few minutes, she felt a tap on her shoulder & she turned to face her dashing husband. "Main tumhe kab se aawaz de raha hun Naina... kahaan kho gayi thi tum???" She blinked twice & stuttered, "Kahin nahi... wohh... main... main bas dekh rahi thi..." She said looking around.
"Sameer... yeh hotel bohot mehenga hoga na?", finally she found some courage to ask. Sameer replied with a smile, "Main jinke saath deal karne aaya hun wohh issi hotel ki owners hai. Meri meetings bhi yahin hongi, isliye unhone hamare liye issi hotel mein suite reserve kiya hai. Ab baaki ke sawaal jawaab room mein jaakar karte hai. Chalo..."
Sameer held her hand & they walked towards their suite. The luggage was already delivered to their room. Naina was very much fascinated seeing the interiors of the hotel. When Naina stepped in the elevator, she was stunned to see her husband pressing the 34th floor on the panel.
She gulped... she was going to spend the next five days alone with Sameer. Though they were already sharing the room together from last few months, but this was different, very much different. In the Maheshwari mansion, there was Nanaji & Ramdhari Bhaiya, but here they would be alone, all alone.
"Pataa nahi main kaise rahungi yahaan akele Sameer ke saath. Bas mujhe khud ke emotions ko control karna hoga, unhe mere feelings ke baare mein kuch pata nahi chalna chahiye.", she mumbled to herself.
"Tum kya akele akele badbada rahi ho Naina???", Sameer asked eyeing her mumbling lips. She instantly stopped her mini self-talk & concentrated on her husband. "Main... main kahaan kuch boli. Main toh chupchaap khadi hun." Though Sameer knew she was lying, he let it go for now. He was too tired & was desperately waiting to reach the room.
When the elevator opened at the 34th floor, they came out hand in hand & walked to the corner suite. Naina was mesmerized with each & every part of the hotel, whether be it the reception or the elevators or the corridor. When Sameer held the door open for her, she was stunned.
It was a premium suite. She was already falling in love with their room. The maroon-coloured curtains were in contrast with the white painted walls. Her eyes stopped at the huge white king size bed that was placed right in the middle of the room. Her gaze moved ahead to see the floor to ceiling glass doors.
She sucked in a deep breath as she stood mesmerized watching the beautiful view of the twinkling city. She walked slowly towards the doors & was stunned to see a balcony ahead. The view was beautiful & enthralling, she could see the whole city in front of her eyes.
Sameer followed behind her & opened the door. He was watching her reactions & was relieved to see her amused face. The first thing she noticed in the balcony was the swing which she loved the most.
All this was a like a dream for her. She had never imagined that she would ever come abroad & get to see such beautiful city. She had never lived a luxurious life & after her grandfather's death, when she came to stay in the Maheshwari Mansion, she was getting used to this life.
"Kaisa lagaa room???", Sameer asked softly still looking at her serene face which was glowing due to the soft lighting in the balcony. She met his gaze & replied, "Maine... maine aisa nazaara kabhi nahi dekha hai Sameer... yeh jagah, yeh hotel, yeh room, sab kuch bohot achha hai, bohot sundar hai. Aisa lagta hai jaise main ek alag hi duniya mein aa gayi hun."
"Par... par... wohhh... wohhh... main yeh keh rahi thi ki... ki...", she stammered not knowing how to ask him about their sleeping arrangement. She had seen only a single bed in the room & two leather chairs with a small round table placed between them. There was a door next to the entrance which she concluded to be the washroom.
Sameer knew the reason behind her stuttering & offered her his hand, "Andar chalo... room mein baat karte hai." She took his hand & walked inside the room. Their gazes landed on the bed again & she inhaled sharply.
Sameer turned & held her by her shoulders. "Naina... Wohhh... maine hi kahaa tha ki main meri wife ko apne saath laaunga, isiliye shaayad unhone hamare liye yeh suite book kiya. Agar tum chaaho toh main unse baat karke, yeh room change karwa deta hun."
Naina didn't know what to say & remained quiet. Sameer took it as her decision too & turned towards the landline to dial the reception for change of suite. He had just picked up the receiver when he felt her hand on his shoulder.
"Sameer... Aap aisa kuch mat kijiye. Hume kuch hi din toh rehna hai yahaan. Main... main... neeche so jaaungi." He turned instantly, "Tumhe neeche kyun sona hai??? Bed itna bada toh hai..."
When he saw the hesitation in her eyes, he asked, "Tum mujhpar bharosa toh karti ho naa Naina???" She could see the hurt in his eyes after her declaration that she would sleep on the floor. She instantly replied, "Sameer... aap galat samaj rahe hai. Mujhe aap par poora bharosa hai. Main bas... bas...", she stuttered yet again.
How could she tell her husband that she trusted him but she couldn't trust herself? How could she stay away from him, especially when her feelings for him were growing tremendously? What if she did something to him or mumbled something crazy in her sleep? She didn't want to take that risk right now.
"Kya Naina??? Mujhpar bharosa hai na? Toh fir tum bhi issi bed par sona. Please Naina... iss baat ko ab aur nahi khinchte aur fresh ho jaate hai. I'm sure tum bhi meri tarah thak gayi hogi. Chalo fresh ho jao, tab tak main hamare liye kuch khaane ko order karta hun."
She just nodded in response & walked towards their luggage that was kept near the washroom door. She took out the new night dress that she had brought especially for this trip along with a few more. She mumbled to herself, "Agar pata hota ki Sameer ke saath hi bed par sona hai toh main yeh naye night dresses saath laati hi nahi. Mere paas aur kuch hai bhi nahi jo main abhi sone ke liye pehen sakun."
When she opened the door of the washroom, she was more than stunned. It was three times bigger than their own. She took slow steps & locked the door behind her. There was a shower cubicle ahead & a bath tub too. She had seen them in movies, but now seeing them in real made her heartbeats faster.
She thought, "Lagta hai yeh suite honeymoon couple ke liye hi banaya hoga. Wohh shower cubicle kitna bada hai, iss mein aaraam se do log nahaa sakte hai. Aur wohh bath tub mein bhi aaraam se do log..." She halted her thoughts & reprimanded herself, "Naina... kya bole jaa rahi hai??? Paagal ho gayi hai kya???"
Closing her eyes, she inhaled deeply. She shouldn't think about anything right now. Her husband must be waiting for his turn to freshen up. Keeping all her thoughts to herself for now, she freshened up quickly & left the washroom.
Sameer was waiting for his wife to appear so that he could freshen up & relax for the night. He had already ordered dinner for them as it was way past their meal time & he was famished. As Naina clicked the door open, he hurried towards the washroom.
But he froze in his tracks as he saw his wife dressed in a new night suit. All the air whooshed out of his lungs as he took the beautiful sight of his lovely wife who was dressed in a red sleeveless satin shirt which was paired with red satin pants. He sucked in a breath as his eyes clashed with hers.
Sameer could see the nervousness in her. Calming his erotic heartbeats, he moved past her & entered the washroom. When he locked the door, he closed his eyes & the images of his wife dressed in red flashed. He rubbed his chest a little, as if asking his heart to calm down.
The sensations that hit him today with her presence in this cosy room made him shiver in need. He had never felt this way with her before. But today seeing her dressed in a red satin night suit, he was awestruck. He had controlled the urge to pull her in his arms & kiss her senseless.
He feared now. How would he control himself from staying close to her? Was the idea of sharing the bed, right? Would he keep up to her trust? Could he control his urges especially when she was going to sleep next to him?
Sameer chastised himself, "Sameer... Tu... tu aise nahi soch sakta Naina ke baare mein. Bohot mushkil se tere saath bed par sone ke liye maani hai. Kuch aisa mat karna jisse Naina uncomfortable ho jaaye. You have to think about the trust she has on you. You can't let her down Sameer... She is your friend & wife..." Taking a deep breath, he freshened up quickly & left the washroom.
Naina had unpacked their luggage & placed their clothes in the wardrobe. When she unpacked his bag, she found few files too. She placed them on the bedside table & was about to turn when her eyes fell on a small folder.
She opened the folder to find two passports inside & some other documents. She was surprised to find her passport & then she realised that it was indeed needed to come here. Then something else too clicked in her mind & that's when Sameer appeared in the room after freshening up.
Sameer saw the folder in her hand & smiled. Before she could ask anything, the doorbell rang & he received their meal. When he came back, he saw her keeping away the folder. He knew she would have questions for him & he was ready to answer them too. But for now, he wanted to concentrate on filling their empty stomachs as they hadn't eaten much in their long jourey.
Sameer placed the tray on the table & turned to his wife, "Naina... kuch kha lete hai. Mujhe toh bohot bhook lagi hai. Chalo... jaldi se aa jao, warna khaana thanda ho jaayega." Naina sat opposite him & served their plates. They finished their meal quietly, both lost in their own thoughts.
"Aapki meeting kab hai Sameer?", she asked, once Sameer was back after keeping the tray outside their suite. He saw that Naina was still sitting on the chair & hadn't moved from there. Keeping his gaze fixed on her, he replied, "Meri meeting kal subah dus baje hai. Main kuch ghanto mein waapis aa jaunga. Tum chaaho toh hum kal ghoomne jaa sakte hai."
"Sameer... Main nahi chaahti ki meri wajah se aapke kaam mein koi bhi problem aaye. Jab tak aapki deal final nahi hoti, mujhe kahin ghoomne nahi jaana. Aap pehle jis kaam ke liye aaye hai, wohh acche se poora kar lijiye. Ghoomna firna toh fir kabhi kar lenge."
Sameer sat at the end of the bed & replied, "Naina... Main tumhe mere saath sirf yeh room dikhaane nahi laaya hun... Meri meetings sirf kal aur parso hai, wohh bhi sirf subah mein, shaayad mujhe aane mein late bhi ho jaaye, par hum baahar zaroor jaayenge Naina. Yeh tumhara pehla trip hai mere saath, isse thoda toh yaadgaar banaana hi chahiye na?"
She considered his words for a while & agreed, "Thik hai Sameer... kal aapki meeting khatam hone ke baad hum baahar chalenge. Abhi so jaaiye, kal aapko jaldi bhi uthna hai na." Sameer slept on the right side of the bed leaving the left side for his lovely wife.
Naina took her own sweet time to join him on the luxurious soft bed. She drew the curtains & checked the door before walking towards the bed. Sameer was observing all her moves. Without any hesitation, Naina sat on the left side of the bed & switched the lights off.
When she slept on her side, she inhaled deeply, taking in his dark musky cologne. Even if there was some distance between them on the bed, Naina felt his presence too close to her. While arranging their luggage in the wardrobe, she had searched for some extra cushions so that she could place them between them.
Though she found nothing in the empty wardrobe, she had seen two cushions on the chairs. But were the two cushions sufficient between them? She knew if she had kept them between them on the bed, Sameer wouldn't have liked it & maybe this little act of hers would have raised questions on her trust for him.
Sameer was happy that finally they would be sharing the bed for the next few nights. He had wanted her to sleep on his bed in their room too. But something had stopped him. He himself didn't know what was exactly stopping him from doing so. He himself wanted answers for it. And maybe this trip would give him that. As tiredness took over them, they drifted to sleep thinking about each other.
The next morning, Naina opened her eyes & the first thing that she saw was her husband's charming face. She couldn't place where she was & then she suddenly remembered that she was in San Francisco with Sameer. "Sameer...", she whispered softly & then her gaze landed on her own hand... And she froze.
Her hand was resting on his chest & his hand had covered hers. She wanted to pull her hand away but she knew even if she tried it, her husband was going to wake up for sure. Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath, calming her raging heartbeats.
When she opened her eyes, she froze again as she saw her dashing husband already awake & watching her with a smile. "Good morning Naina..." His soft husky voice sent shivers down her body.
Sameer had already woken up before her & was happy to find her close to him. He had wanted to close the remaining little distance too, but he didn't want to scare her away with this intimacy suddenly.
Sameer entwined their fingers & asked, "Tumhe neend toh acche se aayi na Naina???" Naina went speechless as she felt his burning gaze on her more intoxicating. Sameer turned a little & faced her. Their entwined hands were still close to his heart. He didn't want to leave her. He knew if he let go of her hand, she would escape soon & he won't get much time to stare at his pretty lady.
Leaving her hand, he placed his palm on her face & asked, "Naina... Bolo na? Acche se neend aayi na tumhe?" She just hummed in response as his warm palm over her skin was creating too much havoc with her system. She was lost in his eyes; his fragrance filled her nostrils & she moved.
Moving his hand from her face, she got up a little & kissed him on his cheek, "Good morning, Sameer..." Her voice was too soft to hear but he had heard it. Naina realized what she had done in the spur of the moment. Before she could move away, he caught hold of her hand & pulled her. She landed on his chest directly.
His hands moved from her shoulders to her arms which were bare as she had worn a sleeveless shirt. Naina shuddered under his touch which was felt by him too. Her hair had made a cocoon all around her face. His left hand held her firmly to him while his other hand tucked her hair behind her ear.
Naina was lost in his touch, in his piercing eyes, in his warmth. "Naina...", he whispered softly & held her head in place. He was about to kiss her, when the alarm on his phone started blaring & their sweet love bubble broke.
Sameer cursed under his breath while Naina moved away instantly as his grip on her loosened. She ran to the washroom & stopped right at the door. She turned to look at her husband who was glaring at his mobile phone.
Naina entered the washroom & quickly finished her morning chores. She knew that Sameer had to attend the meeting today, so she thought of having her bath after he was gone. She was back in the room in the next ten minutes.
She saw her hot husband doing push-ups in the balcony. She took slow steps towards him, the flashes of what happened few minutes ago ran in her mind again & again. She was sure if the alarm hadn't rang at that moment, her husband would've kissed her first thing in the morning. Sameer sensed her before she entered the balcony & met her gaze.
When Naina had closed the washroom door earlier, he was cursing himself more. He had promised himself that he would control his needs & urges. But whenever his gorgeous wife was near him, he lost all control over his heart & mind. His wife was slowly taking over his senses & he was very much aware about it.
He couldn't lose his control now. He had to analyse his own feelings for his wife. There were many things going on in his mind. He didn't know what to name his feelings, he didn't know how to stay away from her, he didn't know why he was always jealous whenever Naina was with Kabir, he didn't know what his own wife thought about him, he didn't know why he was affected by her proximity.
"Sameer... pehle aap taiyaar ho jaaiye, aapko meeting ke liye late ho jaayega.", Naina's sweet voice broke his thoughts. He just nodded & got up to walk towards the washroom. As he entered the room again, his eyes landed on the bed again & he remembered how the alarm had spoiled their morning kiss.
Without turning, he spoke, "Naina... jo bhi breakfast mangwaana ho, wohh order kardo, tab tak main ready ho jaata hun." She replied, "Ji... main breakfast order kar leti hun." Naina placed the order & kept his suit ready for the day.
Her eyes again landed on the folder & she decided to ask her questions today. The doorbell rang at the precise moment & Sameer walked out of the washroom in a towel wrapped around his waist as usual.
Naina was about to walk to the door to collect their order, when she heard his voice, "Naina... tum rehne do, main order le leta hun." Naina was about to debate when she saw her handsome husband already striding towards the door.
On the way, Sameer mumbled, "Main nahi chaahta ki koi tumhe aise night dress mein dekhe. Yeh sirf mera hakk hai." He collected the order & placed it on the small table between the chairs.
"Tum khaana shuru karo, tab tak main change kar ke aata hun." Naina served two plates for them & waited for her husband. She would never ever eat alone, especially when her husband was in the same room with her.
Sameer joined her for breakfast in the next five minutes. He knew she would never eat alone & would wait for him. And he was right. He was definitely missing her homecooked aloo parathas & coffee, but he would've to wait for the next few days for his favourite food.
While having breakfast, Naina asked, "Sameer... aapko mera passport kahaan se mila?" Sameer knew that his smart wife would definitely ask him this sometime today. He continued eating & replied, "Mujhe tumhara passport Nanu ne diya tha."
Naina was a little shocked, "Mere Nanaji ne mera passport banvaaya tha. Unhe lagta tha ki kisi din main videsh zaroor jaaungi. Nanaji hamesha mujhse kehte the ki main kabhi na kabhi India se baahar zaroor jaaungi, koi University mein admission lungi. Aur dekho, aaj jab wohh din aa gaya toh mere Nanaji hi mere saath nahi hai."
Sameer held her hand & squeezed it lightly, giving her strength. She continued, "Mera passport toh mere poorane ghar mein tha, toh Nanaji ke paas kaise aaya?" Without leaving her hand, he replied, "Jab tumhara saamaan tumhare poorane ghar se laaya gaya, uss mein hi tumhara passport & tumhare kuch important documents bhi the. Yeh sab Nanaji ne mujhe diye the, hamari shaadi ke baad. Mere cupboard ke locker mein maine sab safely rakha hai. Tumhe jab bhi zaroorat pade, locker se nikaal lena. Thik hai..."
Naina was surprised that she wasn't aware about all this. She only knew that her luggage was placed in her old room, she hadn't even thought about any documents, certificates & the passport. She had forgotten all about it.
"Sameer... jahaan tak mujhe pataa hai ki San Francisco aane ke liye, mujhe visa ki zaroorat lagi hogi. Toh uska arrangement aapne kaise kiya? Matlab aapne mujhe ek din pehle hi toh yahaan aane ke liye poocha tha, toh ek din mein visa kaise mil sakta hai."
Meeting her curious eyes, he replied, "Maine kuch dino pehle hi hamare visa ke liye apply kar diya tha. Mujhe California aana hi tha aur tumhara bhi vacation chal raha tha, toh maine socha ki main tumhe mere saath le aaunga."
Now Naina was stunned. Sameer was already planning to bring her here even before he asked her about it. She asked, "Toh aapko pehle se pataa tha ki main aapke saath yahaan aane ke liye taiyaar ho jaaungi?"
Sameer nodded with a smile, "Maine jaan bujhkar Nanu ke saamne tumse poocha tha, kyunki main jaanta tha ki Nanu bhi tumhe mere saath aane ke liye convince kar lenge. Aur jaise maine socha tha, waise hi hua. Tum mere saath aane ke liye maan gayi. Meeting ki dates mujhe do din pehle hi pataa chal gayi thi, isliye maine agle din hi tumse poocha aur ticket bookings confirm kar li."
"Maine yahaan bhi pehle hi bataa diya tha ki main apni wife ke saath aaunga, issliye unhone yeh suite hamare liye reserved rakha. Main chaahta tha ki tum mere saath San Francisco aao, mere saath raho."
Naina asked softly, "Kyun???" Without any hesitation this time, Sameer replied, "Kyunki main tumhare saath kuch time akele bitaana chaahta hun. Hum dono bhi kaafi dino se bohot busy the aur yahi ek chance tha, jahaan hum dono saath reh sake aur ek saath thoda time spend kar sake."
Naina was stunned with the revelation, she asked, "Mere signatures kaise liye aapne, visa ke application par?" He smiled knowingly & was waiting for this. "Wohhh... maine tumhari NGO waali file mein applications rakh diye the aur Nanu ne tumhari signatures le li."
Naina was more shocked this time, "Matlab... Nanaji bhi jaante the ki aap mujhe California laana chaate the?" Sameer nodded, "Haaannn... unhi ki wajah se tum yahaan ho Naina... hum yahaan hai..."
Sameer continued looking at his stunned wife & asked, "Acchi acting kar leta hun na main???", he asked raising his shirt collar. Naina smiled & replied, "Aapko nahi lagta ki aap se acchi acting shaayad Nanaji ne ki hai?"
Sameer glared at her for a second & then both of them burst out laughing loudly. This was the most soothing & relaxing morning both had had after a long time. After finishing their breakfast, Sameer was ready to leave.
He collected all the required files & his laptop bag. He was about to open the door, when Naina called him out, "Rukiye Sameer..." She handed him his mobile phone & his handkerchief & then asked him to wait for a minute.
She came back with a bowl of curd & sugar. Sameer was stunned to see his wife holding a spoon filled with it. Naina forwarded the spoon towards him & he leaned a little to eat it. Before he could ask, she replied, "Maine breakfast ke saath hi mangwa liya tha."
Sameer smiled & she continued, "All the best Sameer... I'm sure yeh deal aapko hi milegi." He leaned a little again & kissed her cheek, "Thank you sweetheart... ab toh yeh deal mujhe hi milegi, aakhir tumne itne pyaar se dahi shakkar jo khilaa diya hai."
Giving her a wink, he left in a hurry while Naina stood rooted to her spot. Within half a minute, he was back & he kissed her other cheek, "Taiyaar rehna Mrs Naina Maheshwari, hume baad mein baahar ghoomne bhi jaana hai."
Saying that, he was gone, leaving his blushing wife behind...

FATE TWISTED BY LOVE
CHAPTER 38
Once Sameer was out of her sight, she closed the door & locked it. The feeling of being alone with her husband was finally sinking in. Putting the bowl of curd & sugar aside, she entered the washroom to have a long shower.
She was very much tempted to use the bathtub but somehow, she curbed her desire & settled on bathing in the shower cubicle. When the cold water hit her head & flowed down her body, the thoughts of her husband invaded her mind.
She was very much affected with the way Sameer was behaving with her since their arrival here. The look that she had seen in his eyes when they got up in the morning, made her insides churn in need. The need to be close to him scared her.
When she came to know that Sameer had taken Nanu's help for bringing her to San Francisco with him, she was more than ecstatic. She had never thought that Sameer would've wanted her to accompany him to another country.
Then something clicked her mind again & her eyes misted. She remembered the conditions that Sameer had made her sign which involved her accompanying him wherever he went. Was bringing her here just because of the conditions mentioned in the agreement or Sameer really wanted her to come?
But then her heart rebuked, "Nahi Naina... aisa mat soch. Itne mahino se Sameer ne kabhi bhi unn agreements aur conditions ki baatein nahi ki, toh fir ab kyun wohh yeh sab karenge. Ab toh Sameer tere bohot acche dost bhi bann gaye hai, samajhne lage hai tujhe."
"Nahi... Naina... tu aisa kuch bhi soch mat. Unhone hi toh subah kahaa tha na ki wohh tere saath time spend karna chahte hai. Toh bas ab tu jyada apna dimaag mat chalaa aur koi bhi faltu khayaal apne mann mein mat aane de. Yahaan aayi hai toh ab Sameer ke saath yeh waqt acche se guzaar aur isse apne dil mein aise utaar le, jisse yeh yaadein kabhi mit hi naa paaye..."
Naina finished her bath in the next half an hour & changed into a yellow sundress. She knew that Sameer would take her out today even if he comes late by evening. She decided to check the beautiful hotel all by herself & check with the receptionist about the places where they can go for the next five days. Though she had already searched on google but yet she wanted someone from here to guide her about the same.
Naina locked the suite & took the elevator to go & check out the place by herself. When she reached the reception, she saw few people waiting there to collect their room keys. So, she decided to roam around for a while & then be back again.
She came out of the hotel & was happy to feel the cool breeze over her face. Her hair swayed with the air & she walked out of the hotel towards the small garden that was on the opposite side of the road.
Sitting on the bench there, she relaxed. She smiled watching the children playing in the garden & reminisced her days. She went to the garden in Ahmedabad with her Nanaji many times, but she had no friends who would play with her during those times. Her Nanaji would play with her & make her happy. But yet she felt alone at that age.
Her eyes misted instantly as all the memories of her time with Nanaji hit her. Letting the few tears flow, she composed herself as her mobile started ringing. She wasn't sure who would be calling her at this hour.
Seeing the caller's name, her smile grew & she picked up the call, "Hello... Nanaji... Aap kaise hai??? Aapne naashta toh thik se kiya na? Aur davaai bhi le li na?" Nanu smiled at the other end, "Naina... Main bilkul thik hun aur haan, maine naashta bhi kar liya aur davaai bhi le li hai. Tum batao, kya kar rahi ho? Safar toh accha tha naa? Koi pareshaani toh nahi hui na tumhe, aakhir pehli baar plane se jaa rahi thi?"
She replied, "Nanaji... mujhe koi problem nahi hua plane mein. Sameer mere saath the, toh safar mein koi mushkil kaise hoti? Unhone mujhe sambhaal liya aur mera darr bhi kamm ho gaya."
Naina updated him that Sameer had left for the meeting & she had come outside the hotel to refresh herself. Nanu chided her, "Naina... tumhe yun akele hotel se baahar nahi aana chahiye tha. Tumhare liye wohh ek anjaan desh hai, aise hi kahin bhi akele ghoomne mat nikal jaaya karo. Sameer ke aane tak ka thoda intezaar kar lo Naina. Chalo... jaldi se waapis apne kamre mein jao."
She realized what Nanaji was trying to say & decide to get back to the hotel. She disconnected the call after talking to him for a few more minutes & returned back to the suite. While coming back she saw that the reception area was a little crowded, so she decided to come back later or she would google again as usual.
When she entered the suite, she was once again reminded of her time with Sameer in the morning. She calmly sat down on the bed & decided to write something in her diary. It had been many days that she had talked with her best friend.
She collected her diary from her handbag & started writing...
Hiii diary... Kaisi ho tum???
Haann... haaannnn... jaanti hun ki tum mujhse naaraz ho.
Par kya karun, main kitna busy hoti hun, tum toh acche se jaanti ho naa...
Pehle college, fir NGO ka kaam aur fir kabhi kabhi café bhi jaati hun.
Toh batao, main kab tumse baat karne aati?
Accha chalo, yeh sab chodo...
Tum jaanti ho main kahaan hun abhi.
Main San Francisco mein hun.
Sameer mujhe yahaan apne saath laaye hai.
Waise bhi mere vacations khatam hone aaye hai.
Jaise hi main waapis Ahmedabad jaaungi, college bhi shuru ho jaayega aur kaam bhi.
Waise tum toh jaanti hi ho naa ki main Sameer se kitna pyaar karti hun...
Aur mujhe ab issi baat se darr lagne lagaa hai...
Darr lag raha hai ki kahin mere dil ki baat meri zubaan par naa aa jaaye.
Jab bhi Sameer mere paas aate hai toh aisa lagta ki main unhe sab bataa dun, unhe bhi toh pataa chalna chahiye na ki main unse pyaar karti hun, par fir darr lagta hai.
Darr lagta hai, kahin meri dil ki baat sunkar wohh mujhse durr naa ho jaaye, mujhse baat karna band naa karde, mere saath rehna chod diya toh...
Waise toh Sameer mera bohot khayaal rakhte hai, mujhe khush rakhte hai, par unke mann mein mere liye kya chal raha hai, wohh kabhi samajh hi nahi paati main.
Unki aankhon mein maine bohot baar wohi feelings dekhi hai jo mere dil mein hai.
Par jab tak Sameer khudse kuch nahi kehte, tab tak mujhe bhi apni feelings ko unse chupaana hoga.
Main sab kuch bardaasht kar sakti hun par unka rejection seh nahi paaungi.
Bas bhagwaan se prarthna karti hun ki mujhe itni himmat de ki mere feelings kabhi mere zubaan tak na aaye.
Diary... Agar Sameer ko mujhse pyaar nahi hua toh???
Toh... toh... main chupchaap unki zindagi se chali jaaungi.
Haan... yahi sahi hai... bas kuch hi mahine reh gaye hai hamari shaadi ko ek saal poora hone mein.
Uske baad toh waise bhi mujhe jaana hi hai...
Kaash Sameer... aap meri dil ki baat mere bina kahe hi samajh jaaye...
Kaash aap bhi mujhe itna pyaar karo jitna main aapse karti hun...
Kaash hamari shaadi ek saal baad kabhi khatam hi naa ho...
Kaash aap mujhe jaane hi na do...
Kaashhhhh...
And she stopped writing as her eyes clouded with tears & she knew that she couldn't expect much from her husband at this point, when he was just her friend, a close friend, whom she loved more than anyone in this world. He was her world.
Wiping her face, she closed her diary & kept it safely in her handbag. She washed her face & opened her laptop to check her mailbox. There was nothing to worry about the work as Kabir had promised her that he wouldn't disturb her vacation time in San Francisco with her husband.
She kept the laptop away & switched on the huge plasma television in front of her. She scanned few channels & finally stopped at the music channel & started listening the romantic songs. Whenever any song played, she would imagine herself with Sameer in the song & would blush to the roots.
Naina hit her forehead lightly & blushed more, "Paagal ho gayi hai tu Naina... Kuch bhi soch rahi hai. Tu yahaan tere honeymoon par nahi aayi hai..." She facepalmed herself yet again & muttered, "Ab yeh honeymoon kahaan se aaya???"
Switching the television off, she opened her laptop again & started googling about the places they could visit in the next few days here. It was more than three hours when her phone pinged with a message.
It read, "Heyy Naina... Meri meeting ko khatam hone mein abhi thoda aur time lagega, tum tab tak apne liye kuch khaane ko order kardo. Main yahin lunch kar lunga. I will try to come as soon as I can, once the meeting is done with. Tum please kuch khaa lena, mera wait mat karna. See you soon sweetheart..."
The endearment again stirred something in her & she flushed yet again. "Sweetheart...", she whispered to herself & blushed some more. Keeping her phone away, she ordered for a simple meal & got back to her laptop.
Naina didn't realize when she drifted to sleep. The constant ringing of the doorbell woke her up with a jerk. She looked around for a second & then ran towards the door to open it. When the door opened, she saw Sameer's face laced with worry.
Sameer instantly walked in with a frown. Keeping his bag & file aside, he pulled her in a hug. "Tum thik toh ho naa??? Itni der kyun lagaa di darwaaza kholne mein? Main abhi neeche hi jaanewala tha, spare keys laane." Naina melted in his arms instantly & inhaled his musky male fragrance deeply. She loved the way he was fussing over her for not opening the door.
Still locked in his arms, she spoke, "Wohhh... main laptop mein kuch kaam rahi thi aur fir kab meri aankh lag gayi, pataa hi nahi chala." Sameer exhaled in relief after hearing that she was fine & had fallen asleep.
Looking at the clock, he spoke, "Toh madam... ab main fresh ho jaun... fir hume baahar bhi toh jaana hai." She realized that he had already loosened his hold & she had held him tightly in her embrace. He was about to walk to the washroom but stopped & turned towards her, "Bohot acchi lag rahi ho Naina... Mere liye bhi acche se kapde nikaal do, aakhir mujhe bhi meri khoobsurat wife ke saamne accha dikhna padega naa?"
Naina lowered her lashes shyly & walked towards the wardrobe. Sameer shook his head with a smile & went to freshen up. He was back in the room in the next few minutes after taking a quick bath. As he came out, Naina entered the washroom to freshen up. She didn't dare to look at his half naked husband who always came out wrapped in a towel only.
Sameer knew what effect he had on his innocent & lovely wife whenever he would come out just in a towel. He had noticed many times that his wife would glance at his bare chest once & then lower her eyes in shyness. He wanted her to have a good look at him but that wasn't possible.
The whole time during the meeting, his mind was filled with the thoughts of his beautiful wife. He couldn't stop thinking about her. She had slept on his bed with him a few times in their room but that was always to sooth each other's pain. But now, this was different.
When she had slept next to him last night, his breath had stopped beating for a few seconds as he took in her fruity fragrance. He craved for her warmth, her closeness. And with her sleeping next to him, sleep came over peacefully.
In the middle of the night, he had woken up, when he had heard some sound coming from outside. And when he turned to check on his wife, he was rather stunned to find her sleeping just next to him. He had wanted to pull her in his arms & cuddle her, but he wasn't sure, if she would like that...
Naina turned in her sleep & rested her hand on his chest which made Sameer's nerves go haywire. His heartbeats accelerated & he kept gazing at the serene face of his wife. After few minutes, he calmed down.
Biting his lower lip, he covered her hand with his carefully, without disturbing her sleep. Feeling her warmth under his palm, he closed his eyes, sleep took over him easily. And when he had woken up to her beautiful face again, he felt sated. The need to be close to her took over his senses & he had pulled her to himself.
He had cursed the alarm clock many times that had disrupted their kiss. But then he even thanked that alarm too. He was sure that he wouldn't have stopped with a single kiss today. His yearning for her, his longing for her was driving him crazy. He didn't know why was he so attracted towards her, why he wanted her to be next with him all the time.
He was desperate to get answers to them. The attraction, care, jealousy, possessiveness, longing, everything was visible in his behaviour & he was very much aware about it too. He hadn't felt this way with anyone. He even blamed himself for going through this confusion. If he would've befriended some girls during his college time, maybe he would've known about such feelings.
Sameer had realized that he had started liking his wife over last few months. But this tension between them whenever they were close was something new to him. Even if he has been an alien in this subject, he had seen enough movies & he was now afraid to name those feelings.
Sameer feared, feared about what would happen if even Naina would leave him for someone else. Could he trust her? Could he give them, especially himself, a chance to move ahead in their marriage? And what about the agreements & divorce papers he had made Naina sign before their marriage? Can he just nullify them?
There was a lot of confusion going on his mind & he had deliberately brought his wife with him. He wanted to find the answers, he wanted to get rid of the confusion & struggle going within himself. In these five days, he would get what he wanted.
The click of the washroom door made him turn & he froze. Naina had freshened up & had applied some makeup which Preeti had insisted her to carry along. Sameer drank in the sight of his beautiful wife.
The yellow dress hugged her curves at the right places & ended below her knees, her eyes were kohled & she had applied a light pink lipstick too. Her fair flawless skin had a different glow today, maybe he hadn't noticed in his rush in the morning.
Naina had kept her hair open which he loved the most, he loved watching her hair swaying with the air. He liked it when she would tuck the strands of hair which would disturb her, but he had noticed that she would do it when she was either shy or nervous around him. This little act would always make his heart skip a beat. He itched to do it himself.
While Sameer was gaping at his wife, Naina too was checking him out openly. His soft silky hair were falling on his forehead & her fingers itched yet again to brush them away. He had worn dark blue denims with a black & grey striped full sleeved t-shirt. He looked way too smashing in such attires. Naina always loved to see him in such clothes.
While packing, Naina had added these clothes without his knowledge. While shopping with Preeti & Anjali, Naina had liked few t-shirts for him & she had bought them for her husband. Her eyes roamed over his broad shoulders & then she met his heated gaze which was stuck on her lips.
Naina shivered under his scrutinizing gaze & lowered her eyes herself. The buzzing of the landline phone broke his reverie & he picked it up still gazing at his gorgeous wife. He spoke over the phone, "We will be there in five minutes. Thank you..."
He spoke to his wife after keeping the receiver down. "Ummm... Chalo... car aa gayi hai." Naina just nodded & collected her handbag while Sameer collected his mobile & the keys. Naina waited till he locked the door.
As they were walking towards the elevator, Sameer brushed his hand with hers & then entwined his fingers with hers. Naina's heartbeats skyrocketed the moment his hand touched hers.
As they descended down the elevators, Naina asked, "Hum kahaan jaa rahe hai???" Sameer glanced at her & replied, "Thoda sabar rakho madam, sabar ka fal mitha hota hai..." She didn't know what to say to that.
Sameer saw her going quiet with his reply. He shifted close to her & whispered, "Jahaan bhi jaa rahe hai, wahaan tumhe bohot accha lagega. I'm sure Naina... tumhe wohh jagah bohot pasand aayegi."
Naina met his gaze with a smile & replied, "Wohhh toh mujhe pataa hai Sameer. I'm sure ki aap mujhe jahaan bhi le jaayenge, wohh jagah mujhe zaroor pasand aayegi." Both were lost in each other's eyes & suddenly the elevator dinged at the ground floor.
As they came out, they saw many people around in the reception area. Few gazes turned to them & they smiled in return; few gazes even wandered on his wife which burnt him to the core. Leaving her hand, he wrapped his hand around her waist possessively & pulled her closer to him.
Naina looked up at him & gave him a dazzling smile which immediately mellowed down his simmering anger. They walked out of the hotel & sat at the backseat of the waiting car. As the car drove towards their first destination, Naina watched the beautiful view of the city passing by.
Within thirty-five minutes, the car stopped & Sameer tugged his wife's hand, "Chalein..." Naina stared at the long bridge in front of her & was mesmerised. She had never seen such beautiful bridge in her life.
As Sameer held her hand & started walking towards the bridge, he started speaking, "Naina... Yeh 'Golden Gate Bridge' hai..." Taking a walk on the walkways of the bridge, Naina was lost watching the water below.
The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate which connects San Francisco Bay & the Pacific Ocean. The bridge is popular with pedestrians & bicyclists & was built with walkways on either sides. It is designated as part of US Bicycle Route 95.
Being declared as one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Golden Gate bride is one of the most internationally recognized symbols of San Francisco & California.
Naina & Sameer walked the bridge hand in hand & then stopped right below the Great Golden Gate. Naina was awestruck seeing the huge gate. Sameer stood behind her & smiled when his beautiful wife was craning her neck upwards to have a better look at it.
"Gardan dukhne lagegi Naina... thoda aur aage chalte hai, aur fir acche se pictures nikaalte hai." She was delighted, "Hum... hum photos bhi nikaalenge..." Hearing the innocence in her voice, Sameer promised himself that he would make this trip very much special & memorable for his wife.
Sameer wasn't fond of clicking pictures but seeing the way Naina was happy with this idea of photos, he took out his mobile & started clicking her pictures. He clicked few solo pictures of hers & then asked another person to click few pictures of them together.
After forty minutes, they reached the other end of the bridge. The sunset was the perfect view for them. The reflection of the sun setting on the water was a treat to watch. Naina & Sameer clicked few selfies with the sunset behind them which came out much better than expected.
On the walked back, Naina saw few bicycles passing by. Sameer observed this & asked her, "Tumhe cycle par baithna hai?" She looked at him shocked & replied, "Mujhe cycle chalaana nahi aata."
Sameer was more surprised to hear this, "Kya tumhe cycle chalaana nahi aata???" She nodded, "Maine kabhi chalaayi hi nahi hai Sameer..." Thinking for a while, he said, "Do minute ruko... Main abhi aaya..."
He walked a little ahead & asked a boy to lend him the bicycle for a few minutes. Fortunately, the boy agreed & Sameer took the bicycle & rode it to where Naina was waiting for him.
Naina was stunned to see him coming on the bicycle. He stopped in front of her & gestured her to sit ahead. She hesitated a little but all her fears flew away when her caring husband spoke, "Main tumhe girne nahi dunga Naina..."
She sat ahead of him & held the handle. Sameer covered her from behind & peddled the bicycle ahead. At first, Naina had closed her eyes as h waser back pressed to his chest & he kept peddling ahead.
Naina trembled when she felt his hot breath near her ear. Sameer too enjoyed the proximity that he was sharing in the name of cycling. He thought, "Ab se har weekend Naina ko cycle pe bithaakar poora Ahmedabad ghoomaaunga." After a while he thought again, "Cycle kyun? Ahmedabad jaakar sabse pehle bike hi lunga... Haannn... yahi sahi rahega..."
The bicycle ride ended in the next few minutes & both were disheartened with the sudden parting. The boy too came there within the next few minutes & collected his bicycle. Sameer thanked him & asked him to click a picture of him & Naina sitting on the bicycle.
Sameer deliberately moved much closer to his wife & caged her in his arms. Naina shuddered yet again & the shy smile came to her automatically as the boy clicked their pictures.
While walking back towards their waiting car, Naina saw a guy playing guitar. Few people were gathered around as he played the strings of the guitar & sung a song. As the people applauded for his wonderful song, Sameer walked to the guy & hugged him, praising him for his beautiful voice.
That guy asked Sameer if he knew to play guitar. Sameer glanced at his wife who was looking at him expectantly. He nodded & took the guitar in his hands. Gazing at his lovely wife, Sameer began...
Dheere Dheere Se Meri Zindagi Mein Aana...
Dheere Dheere Se Dil Ko Churaana...
Tum Se Pyaar Humein Hai Kitna Jaane Jaana...
Tumse Milkar Tumko Hai Bataana...
Jabse Tujhe Dekha Dil Ko Kahin Aaraam Nahin...
Mere Hothon Pe Ek Tere Siva Koi Naam Nahin...
Apna Bhi Haal Tumhare Jaisa Hai Saajan...
Bas Yaad Tujhe Karte Hai Aur Koi Kaam Nahin...
Ban Gaya Hoon Main Tera Deewana...
Dheere Dheere Se Dil Ko Churaana...
Dheere Dheere Se Meri Zindagi Mein Aana...
Dheere Dheere Se Mere Dil Ko Churaana...
Tune Bhi Aksar Mujhko Jagaaya Raaton Mein...
Aur Neend Churayi Meethi Meethi Baaton Mein...
Tune Bhi Beshak Mujhko Kitna Tadpaya...
Phir Bhi Teri Har Ek Ada Pe Pyaar Aaya...
Aaja Aaja Ab Kaisa Sharmaana...
Dheere Dheere Se Dil Ko Churaana...
Dheere Dheere Se Meri Zindagi Mein Aana...
Dheere Dheere Se Dil Ko Churaana...
Tum Se Pyaar Humein Hai Kitna Jaane Jaana...
Tumse Milkar Tumko Hai Bataana...
