As viewers we come with a right to put forward our opinion about YHM and its actors. We have rights to appreciate the goodness of tracks and have the same to do when the tracks are lame and questionable. And similarly if an actor whose made an entry as an important character (whose track is twisted, unnecessary and not interesting) and he makes it worse by not expressing whatever wafer thin depth that character has, we are obviously going to point that out.
TBH I do not understand Subbu's character at all. Normally you form an opinion or understanding of one character over time. We call Param a leech, Ashok insecure and Shagun a bitch. The actors have made the character trait come across that well. But Amit Tandon does NOTHING to justify what the character goes through. I am sure partly its the writing that's weak. But he gives nothing as an actor that affects me. His anger attacks are supposed to scare but instead they make me laugh. His despair over his wife's death should make me feel pity but it makes me yawn. And if he's negative I should be able to hate him, which also I am unable to do because I am so flabbergasted with the lameness of the characters existence in the story.
If you can't smile, cry or laugh along with a character, it means the actor has failed. I have seen Amit in shows before and he was always decent, or average. But NOW in YHM, even after giving him chance after chance, I think the less I talk about his 'acting' the better.
And I don't want to talk about him off screen because I barely know him. But his interviews seem OTT to me, because he's not even the lead really but talks like he knows what the real leads also do not know,or divulge if they do.
