He made his TV debut in Swabhimaan, and went on to star in serials like Kkusum, Virrasat and Sarrkar. But that's not the career Rohit Roy had thought of for himself.
In fact, he was all set to fly off to the US for an MBA degree when his visa got rejected. "I am an actor by accident," he says - but he isn't unhappy about it. Now, having earned good reviews for his portrayal of a bhai in Shootout At Lokhandwala, he's hoping for a repeat in Sanjay Gupta's Alibaug.
Would you like to be 16 again?
Of course. It was the most hassle free time of my life.
What attracts you in a woman?
Personality, attitude, honesty.
What car do you drive?
I drive a Camry 2007 and would love to drive a Silver Spirit Rolls Royce.
Your most recent purchase?
My bike - Yamaha MT 01 - 1700 cc from Singapore.
The one film you can see again and again?
Deewar.
You get put off when people...
Ditch.
A special childhood memory?
I won the best actor award during the annual day for a play that I did when I was in the seventh or eighth standard.
Your first crush?
Ms Fernandes. She taught me English in Class III.
When you get angry, you...
Go to the gym and pump iron.
If you woke up and found you'd turned into a woman...
I'd die of shock... But on second thoughts, I think I would be happy. I feel women are very strong and they have the unique ability that men don't...they can give birth. I feel that is something wonderful.
One thing you would like to change about yourself?
I am impulsive and talk straight. Perhaps I need to tone that down a bit.
Three wishes you'd like a good genie to grant you?
(a) Long life for my mother and daughter (b) To become a superstar (c) Earn enough wealth to see me and my family through a contented life.
The best thing that's happened to you?
My daughter...
If you could remove one person from the face of the earth?
No one person actually but all the religious fanatics.
If your partner cheated on you...
That's a difficult question. I have been in a relationship for 15 years and I have invested everything that I could in it. To give up everything for perhaps one mistake would be foolish. I'd try to figure out why things happened and then maybe try to improve them...
You don't believe in and #8230;
Bigotry.
Your favourite outfit?
White shirt and blue jeans.
Do you pray? If yes, who to?
I don't pray on a daily basis but I believe in God. For me he is my friend and I have conversations with him.
The last holiday you went on?
My family and I went to America for a month.
Two ways in which you've changed over the last ten years?
I have become more patient and less arrogant.
Who sets your pulses racing?
Jessica Alba.
The outdoor activity you love?
Sex.
