M eet the woman who's responsible for all those chunky, dazzling pieces of jewellery worn by our favourite television stars - Ekta Gupta . Something for all I started supplying jewellery for serials around four years back. The pieces vary with every serial. I have to keep updating my stock because the styles keep changing with the changes in storyline. Right now, I have around 60 shows and in the last four years I've done more thana 100 serials. My business has grown and now there are around 30 women who sell my pieces around the world and help me expand my network. Of late, I've started supplying jewellery to celebrities like Sudha Chandran, Shagufta Ali and Apara Mehta. Sangeeta Ghosh is particularly fond of my earrings and buys them regularly. Baubles, baubles everywhere I hunt all over the country to get the best jewellery. I pick up my kundan pieces from Ahmedabad, while the Victorian sets come from Jaipur. Kolkata stocks some of the best diamond jewellery. I make sure I personally go and select the stuff from these places. I also get custom-made sets. The Victorian and rodium sets are in demand these days because they match any type of embroidery on sarees. Even viewers pay special attention to what the stars wear on television. Sometimes, I get orders specifying an artist from a show or even the jewellery worn in one particular scene.
