Stuck in a traffic jam, Akshay Anand has to walk 10 kms...
Path breaker: Akshay Anand
Akshay Anand aka Brijesh Thakur of Saat Phere was excited at being short-listed to play Rohan Lamba in Viraasat. He was looking forward to the first day of shooting with zeal. But the first day of shooting turned out to be his worst nightmare.
Akshay was at Thiruvananthapuram and his first shoot of Viraasat was scheduled in Mumbai. The actor decided to fly to Mumbai and take a flight back to Thiruvananthapuram immediately after the shoot. After the shoot at Madh Island, Akshay made his way to the domestic airport at Santa Cruz but got stuck in a huge traffic jam. As he was getting late, he first began to walk towards the city, then engaged an auto rickshaw and finally reached the airport, only to find that his flight had taken off!
Akshay recalls, "It was a tough day. We started walking and realised that it was one of the worst traffic jams I had ever witnessed. There were several marriage processions on the way and an upturned bus that made it worse. We walked till we reached the main road, which is about 10 kilometers from our shooting location and it took us about two-and-a-half hours to reach there. Then I hopped into a rickshaw to the airport. The traffic wasn't any better on that route. But by the time I reached the airport, I had missed my flight. There were several marriage processions on the way and also an upturned bus to make matters worse. It took us about two and a half hours after which I engaged a rickshaw. The traffic wasn't any better, but we reached the airport somehow. Alas, it was too late. I had missed my flight. However, I got another flight that was behind schedule."
Akshay feels that this incident occurred on the most unsuitable day. "It was my first day of the shoot and I was also recovering from food reactions. I called my driver to find out where he was just before boarding the flight. He told me that he was still at Malad."
