Mannequin status: Vaishnavi |
As hard as we try, we can't come up with a rational excuse for why television stars agree to play glorified extras on celluloid. Not too long ago, Vaishnavi (Meera of Ek Ladki Anjaani Si) had said about her 'role' in Baabul, "Every character has an identity of its own, so in spite of the presence of the big stars, my role is quite substantial."
Erm, substandard is what she probably meant to say, considering she didn't have even a single line in the film. What's worse is that even respected TV actors like Aman Varma and Parmeet Sethi have only one dialogue each, that too only in the last five minutes of the flick!
Chota hai toh behtar hai: Aman Varma and Parmeet Sethi
It's a monumental waste of time and talent, if you ask us.
On another note, a bitchy actor who watched Baabul at the premiere last evening cheekily commented, "Have you seen the film? It's three hours two minutes, and three hours too long!"
