Rohit Roy has often been in the news for calling the shots on the sets of his shows. Call it creative interference or pure muscle-flexing, the Roy boy makes sure he gets his way. Recently, the actor demanded a personal make-up room to be erected for him on the sets of Ravi Chopra's Viraasat.
Rohit says he told the production house that he wanted a personalised space on the sets that would bar entry to other actors.
Royal ambiance
Christened as the 'Roy Zone', the room has Roy's work-out equipment, and a mini music system, we were told. But our photographer found it to be like any other make-up room.

Talking about his 'private' space, Rohit says, "I work on the show almost 20 days a month. I may be required on the show for a year or more. In this scenario, it is important for me to have a room where I can get my stuff and chill out. I am grateful to the production house for giving me this space."
It isn't surprising that Roy is all praise for the production house he's working with. "Given a chance, I would love to work with them again."
No separate area
Rohit says, "It's the king's den, and everyone is invited to hang around with me in between shots."
Co-star Amarr Upadhyay feels that he doesn't need an invitation to go the space that Roy calls his own. He says, "No one is a super star to get preferential treatment. Everybody has a separate make-up room. It isn't just Rohit who has a separate area to himself." Refuting Rohit's claims of having a room constructed at his request, Amarr adds, "It's BR Chopra's property, and no one can lay claim to any particular make-up room. Aman Verma, myself, Sangeeta and even Deepak Qazir have our own make-up rooms, so where's the question of constructing a make-up room for any particular actor?"
When asked if he hangs out with Rohit in his room in between shots, Amarr says, "Everyone uses Rohit's make-up room. It isn't exclusive to him. In fact, the other day even Sanjit Bedi was using it."
Aman Verma, too, denies knowledge of Rohit's khaas kamra, "I'm not aware of any RoyZone existing in BR Studios. The production guys try to give us separate make-up rooms. But there have been instances where actors have shared one room. No actor has an access to a private area."
