Despite having a pretty wife (Pooja Ghai Rawal), Aman Verma (Rishabh Lamba) in 'Viraasat' ( Star Plus) holds a fascination for secretary Tanya (Raavee Gupta). "Although he is infatuated with me he is tough to get along with because his character is bristling with negative energy. But playing Tanya is exciting, because she is not just a dumb bimbette," explains Raavee. She continues, "Tanya is essentially a career woman. Gradually she gets drawn into corporate espionage and starts supporting her employer's rivals."
Earlier Ravee had played a vamp in Ravi Chopra's show 'Kamini Damini'. Not wanting to be stuck in the negative groove, Raavee played the comic Minni in 'Shanno Ki Shaadi'( Star Plus).
Few are aware that Raavee started off as a Bollywood actor and played the parallel lead in the film 'Kaash Aap Hamare Hote', co-starring Sonu Nigam and Juhi Babbar. She has even acted in a couple of crossover films. "One of them was a silent film titled 'Shut Up' which had me emoting only through expressions and body language," recalls the actor.
Raavee is also delighted about her show 'Siddhant' being nominated for the international Emmy Awards. "In 'Siddhant' I played Navya an emotional girl. Since I hate using glycerin, I would actually shed tears and end up with a headache. But I realised that it was worth the effort," laughs Raavee.
Incidentally, Raavee and actor Manoj Bidwai are known to share a close rapport. "Strangely, Manoj and I have never worked together in any project till date. We have been 'good friends' since long and hang out together. Nothing is decided as of now, as we are both involved with our careers," shrugs the actor.
