The actress couldn't make it to mentor Aroona Irani's latest production, Vaidehi After acting in mentor Aroona Irani's previous shows Des mein Nikla Hoga Chand and Rabba Ishq na Hove, (opposite Varun Badola and Amarr Upadhyay respectively) Sangeeta Ghosh has been left out of the cast of Vaidehi, naturally raising some eyebrows.

"I was doing Rabba Ishq Na Hove (a weekly) with Aroonaji earlier when I was offered Viraasat, which is a daily show," says Sangeeta. "Now, with the latter being a BR Films' production, I didn't have any second thoughts about signing it. What's more, Rabba… wound up earlier than expected, and Aroonaji began work on Vaidehi immediately.

I had thought Rabba… would continue longer, so I'd be able to act in Vaidehi too, later." Would she have liked to be part of Vaidehi? "Yes, certainly," she replies. "Aroonaji and I make a good team and deliver well.

There is no reason why I wouldn't have liked to be part of Vaidehi, but as I said, things didn't work out. We share a close relationship and I expect to undertake many more projects with her in future." Produced by (and also starring) Aroona Irani, Vaidehi is the tale of a 21-year old middle-class girl trapped in an 'agniparikhsha'.

The lead role is being played by Kehta Hai Dil's Pallavi Kulkarni. Sangeeta is focussing on the sole show in her kitty now, Viraasat. She says "I am not doing any other project at the moment," she confirms.

She also expresses her eagerness to get into an anchor's shoes for Nach Baliye 2. "But I haven't been approached yet…," she says. She is apparently being choosy about her big screen debut. "The film offers that I am getting are not satisfactory. At this rate, you may never see me in films!" she laughs.
