Food for thought...

Clichd but true, 'The way to one's heart is through the stomach'. While some prefer being herbivorous, some are carnivorous and some, a healthy mix of both! And if that's not enough, there's a wide array of choice; from the simple, home-made dal chawal to the exotic Thai fare!

We take you on a scrumptious journey and discover the tastebuds of our tellystars!

Moulli Ganguly - In spite of being a Bong, I'm not too keen on non- vegetarian food. Reason being, it's not cooked at home nor do I call for it. It's only when I'm at Kolkotta or at some social do that I taste the gravy. My vegan habits stem from the time I used to live at nani's place. She was a widow and thus she never ate non-veg. Dal- chawal is my all time favourite. I also love aloo gobi ki sabzi. But palak is one vegetable I dislike. My maid cooks for me and I ensure that she uses oil sparingly and keeps the kitchen clean. I stay away from cooking, but in case of an emergency I do have give in. My fav food joints are Sanskriti at Inorbit (suburban mall) and Kalinga. I am amazed that food can also taste good even without onion and garlic.

Narayani Shastri - I prefer the vegetarian fare. I can have aloo ke parathe for breakfast, lunch and dinner, accompanied with tea or dahi. I live on it forever but I want to reduce it's consumption as it doesn't spell good news for my weight. Coming to non-veg khaana, I discard the pieces of meat, just the gravy. Chicken chilli sandwich from Holiday Inn is my favourite. When it comes to Indian cuisine, I frequent Urban Tadka and Gazali. Luckily I am allergic to sweets. I know how to cook but I dislike cooking. I don't even remember the last time I cooked!

Rajesh Kumar- I am a vegetarian at home; my parents are very strict about it because of religious reasons. But I do have non-veg occasionally. From the veg stuff, I love everything green, including karelas. I also love mushrooms and can live on turai ki sabji, combined with rice and sattu (a mix of jaggery, wheat and Bengal gram). For Thai cuisine, I recommend Golden Orchid and Gordon House. I can cook anything under the sun! On weekends and other holidays it's me who dons the chef's cap.

Pooja Ghai Rawal - I am a hardcore non-vegetarian. I used to be love chicken but after the bird flu controversy I have shifted my loyalties to fish and mutton. All 365 days, my breakfast comprises of non-veg fare. I live to eat and I will never give up non-veg in any case. I don't even want to know why people are or want to be vegetarian. I keep coaxing my in-laws to try non-veg at least once. Once I was eating chicken lollypop and my son was so tempted to grab it that he took his first baby steps towards it. I love dining at Legacy of China and at Noorani's (Haji Ali).

Rohit Roy - We prefer vegetarian food at home but if we travel overseas we hog non-veg. I can eat chicken in any form. Coming to the veg, my vote goes to paneer, but it should be less oily. Mansi (my wife) likes sushi so we hunt for sushi joints abroad. In Bombay, I frequent Olive and Mangi Ferra. If at home, we ask out Indian food from Chawla's Dhabba. As far as my culinary skills go, I have never entered the kitchen, so cooking and me....nah!
