Producer Ravi Chopra's show Virasaat on Star Plus seems to have undergone some changes of late. While the show originally revolved around the lives of two lovers played by Sangeeta Ghosh and Rohit Roy, the character of the villain played by Aman Verma is suddenly gaining more importance.
Earlier publicity hoardings across the city displayed Sangeeta with Rohit Roy. However, now-a-days, Rohit Roy's face on the hoardings has been replaced by Aman Verma's. So, is Aman gaining more screen space, and is becoming the central male lead?
Rumours abound that Aman Verma's character has been reworked and he now has a meatier role to play than Rohit. The reason behind is that Rohit has signed several film assignments that keep him busy for first half of the month. As a result, Rohit can only concentrate on TV assignments during the second half.
On the other hand actors like Amarr Upadhayay, Sangeeta Ghosh and Aman Verma have ample time to dedicate to the show.
How has Rohit taken this change? A source reveals, "Rohit is a good actor and that's why he is in demand. Other TV actors envy him for being in a position to do both films and television. All the same, Rohit is very much a part of Viraasat. There have been a few changes in terms of higher billing, but Rohit has accepted that. He feels that it's the producers and the channel's call."
Regarding the changes in the script and screen space, producer Ravi Chopra says, "Rohit and Sangeeta play lovers in the show. But it's the villain who takes the story forward. This is why Aman's character is important. In a daily soap, the tracks keep changing. Both Aman and Rohit are aware of this. So, I don't see why anyone should have any complaints."
Despite several attempts to contact Rohit Roy, the actor was unavailable for comment.
