A new fashion destination, La Kaira ((meaning rising of the sun) was unveiled by owner and designer Kaira Gurnani. The opening saw celebrity guests turning up to extend their wishes. Seen here are Kaira, jewellery designer Amisha Khanna and TV actor Pooja Ghai (who was accompanied by her alleged boyfriend Vikas Kalantri).
R ohit Roy, who had said he would quit televi- sion, is still a part of Ravi Chopra's Viraasat. According to Rohit, "I've been lucky because I have played author-backed roles in all my shows —be it Sar- rkar or Viraasat. But I will admit that male actors are becoming decorative ob- jects on television." Does than imply an un- timely exit from Viraasat? He answers, "I believe quit- ters never win and winners never quit. So there's no question of leaving the show." Rohit is quick to add, "Now with a new track being introduced between Sangeeta Ghosh and myself, there's going to be more ex- citement. Contrary to popu- lar belief, I am not a roman- tic person off-screen. So it's a big challenge to look into Sangeeta's eyes and mouth romantic dialogue." Why has he quit other TV assignments? He sums up, "I lost out on quite a few good films because I had no dates. On the flipside, I can't leave my television producers in a fix by taking on film assignments. So, I decided to take the onus on myself and quit TV to con- centrate on films."
