I didn't mean ep 199....i meant ep 198 where the Nagars and Bharadwajs walked into an obvious death trap....how infuriating was that episode? And was it more infuriating than ep 169?

Also Magadheera is the foundation for every larger than life things we got to see from SS Rajamouli later...

It was one of my first telugu movie and what a ride it was!!! From the heart-tuggingly beautiful opening sequence to joyous ending, I lapped it up. I am yet to see a fight that is more intense and jaw-dropping than that particular fight sequence of kaal Bhairava killing 100 enemy... amazing...smiley27

Yes , Magadheera walked so that Bahubali could run and RRR could soar in the air

I agree that Bahubali 1 had better war scene and RRR 's screenplay was so smooth and doesn't feel abrupt like the pre interval sequence of Magadheera where the leads confess their love , heroine's dad objects it , he gets killed , Bhairava falls off the cliff ; all in the same day

But still i liked the commercial movie elements of the first half and LOVED the second half of the movie. Characters like Sher Khan and Solomon only had 15 mins screenspace each and yet they are the most memorable and best characters in the movie....Flashback sequence , Rann of Kutch sequence and Jaipur sequence was so good , plus nostalgia linked to childhood....so this movie definitely holds a special place in my heartsmiley42

Magadheera's interval scene still gives me goosebumps after all these yearssmiley42

I found myself caring for them soo much..that I could feel every pain they went through.. I was in love with Janardan/ Jordan and Heer..This time I did not judge them but empathized with them, tried to understand them. And it is one of the most differently told unique love story; soul stirring.

Psychologically complex movie, deals with subjects like need, want, fame, ambition ,satisfaction, love and peace... probably I am so glad that I watched it at this point where I could appreciate this piece of artsmiley27

Not being able to get it out of my head.. I loved it....smiley27

I am glad that watching it again has changed your perspective! The things you've mentioned are the exact reason I love this movie so much. There's definitely a lot going on in each and every scene which is the best part of it!

198 takes the cake, no questions asked 💀

198 gave me a new perspective on these characters - they are all beyond stupid smiley44 no seriously, tell me you are stupid without telling me you are stupid. First of all, y'all are going to a hospital not a wedding Ki sari bhaarat Saath main Chal padi. What about pujnia premraj mahajhan's death anniversary, you know the one that nobody can stop raving about😐 Anyone, can tell that the hospital was shady AF the second they saw it. Why in God's name would you go in to check. Brain cells Agni main basam kardiye Kya? A stoned turtle has more sense more social awareness and self preservation instincts that these bunch of buffoons smiley7 and is it a rule that yuvika has to be in near death situation every 100 episodes? So annoying.

LMAO! THIS! EXACTLY THIS! This episode infuriated me to the core! Their brains went on a vacation (along with DB....maybe he took their brains with him in those suitcases 🤔)

I was hoping for the entire Nagar and Bharadwaj clan to be consumed by the fire....such stupid people shouldn't existsmiley7

This was what I wrote in the name of episode review smiley37

I have read somewhere and got this perspective,

Magadheera storyline spans over Two generations 400 years apart. So, the setting, character POV, attitude etc have to be translated without spoiling the mood of the film. I believe, the characterizations of key roles have been translated to the current generation. Also the blend of Two stories is perfect and there is enough screen space for both stories. Coming to Bahubali, 70% of the story is about Amarendra Bahubali. It’s more about how Mahendra Bahubali learns his lineage, then how he takes revenge.. Though I am not complaining at all .. I loved Amarendra Bahubali, specially Devsena a lot..but we don't know much about him, his strengths or weakness. Avantika also..that character's premise was so interesting.. dwindling between personal priority and ambition to achieve something huge..but they did not develope it at all.. I would have liked to know more about them..

Fight sequence where Kala Bhairava goes to kill a 100 soldiers remains as the best highlight of the film. Just Sri Hari sir’s brilliant performance with tears in his eyes as he praises and kneels down to his opponet. Also the scene where Bhairava’s horse Badshah comes to his rescue from the quicksand. And also the dialoguebaazi between Sher Khan and Bhairava..

Uff...

And they actually gave his character a chance to do it in this birth that he couldn't do then...

Yep the movie is set in 1609 and 2009

Sher Khan and Solomon were poles apart in characterization ; A proud emperor and an innocent fisherman but i loved both those characters equally

It was a beautiful movie of four reincarnated souls....two of those souls returned to reunite with each other , one came back for lust and vengance and one came back for redemptionsmiley27

So many philosophical questions it threw at me...

Different aspects of love...so many times we confuse so many other things as love and love as so many other things..the moment we realise may be it is late and so many times we don't even realise the cause of emptiness in our lives...it is not just romantic love..it goes with everything we truly love..

Ranbir Kapoor was amazing, Nargis could have done better but I think that rawness and innocence probably worked there...

It was a journey smiley27

Sri hari sir's character was soo interesting..In the past, he was the Noble Muslim. A fierce warrior, but a brave and fair man. He was able to treat Ram Charan with respect in a way he never really was by his own allies. But ultimately, he was not free, he was bound by his promises to the wrong people. He allied with Dev's character in order to defeat the kingdom, and therefore he was forced to support the unworthy Dev' s character against the more worthy Bhairava. In the present, he has been brought to a far lower level of society and power, but has benefited by being able to choose his own allies based purely on their virtue, not on a greater goal. Because he has no greater goal, he has been freed from that. He is punished for his sins, by being sent to a low level of society and disallowed from marriage (as punishment for separating true lovers) in his new life. But he is rewarded for his virtues by being reborn happy and free to an sunny pleasant life. He is different, but the same. And he has learned from the past, instead of separating Ram Charan and Kajal's character, he now does whatever he can to bring them together...

So interesting...

Also it was soo philosophical..Princess mitravrinda's father’s argument was that Bhairava had a dangerous life, if she married him she might end up a widow. Bhairava refused to admit his love because her father argued for a short term heartbreak to serve the greater good. But they lived in dangerous times and there were no guarantees. She died, and he never told her he loved her, so what was right for Mitravrinda? A subtle statement on ingrained patriarchy where two men decided for such a crucial event of her life without informing her... literally took away her power over her own life..

And that was the regret that brought him back to life again, determined to break all the rules of society, do whatever it took, but not let her go again..there was a scene where in modern times.. Kajal’s father again tries to separate them. Ram Charan flashes back to the past for a second and then grabs her father and threatens to kill him if he tries to keep them apart. .

A very well made movie, those who likes to escape into the world of celluloid by watching silly Telugu movie they get entertained..Those who watch movie to find a subtle intellectual stimulation, to face uncomfortable questions they also get that...a story of learning from mistakes and second chance...

Being born as a fisherman doesn't make anyone "low" he was more happy as a fisherman than he was as a king cause he'snot bound by any vow and can basically make his desicions for himself....plus it is hinted that he will get married once he is back to his place

This was one of the 3 movies in which Ram Charan's acting was good , other two being Rangasthalam and RRR....

That was why Mitravinda's rage on that mountain was justified.

But the movie ended on a littereal cliffhanger....how did they get to the other side of the mountain since the bridge was broken?
