He did not get shocked at the revelation of a lie as he saw the larger benefit of the truth coming out.

Second, he understood that Ria took the risk of letting out the truth as she had to save a life...she was committed to her profession and was decisive at that moment.

Third, his manner of talking to Ria's parents with respect and gratitude showed his outstanding character!
