Kinshuk Mahajan: I'm lucky to be in a happy space, both professionally and personally
.
Kinshuk Mahajan
He is best remembered as Ranvir of 'Sapna Babul Ka...Bidaai'. After a couple of stints in daily soaps and a recent episodic of 'Encounter', Kinshuk Mahajan is back on the small screen as Abhimanyu of 'Tum Aise Hi Rehna'. A relaxed Kinshuk spoke to AT about the reason for his happiness, his belief in destiny and more.
Talking about his new show, Kinshuk says, "It is not an easy character to play. While daily soaps focus on women characters, Abhimanyu is a character that even men will be able to relate to." Kinshuk, who's been married for four years now, adds, "Personally I don't relate to the character I play, because mine was a love marriage after a courtship of eight years. However, I take examples from my life and can understand the nuances of the role better." Kinshuk's journey in showbiz has been pretty satisfying so far. He says, "I think God has been very kind to me with the kind of roles I have got so far. I started off in Delhi, where I did a filmmaking course and then did theatre. Destiny brought me to Mumbai. I've also shot for a Telugu film slated for release next year. I believe in being satisfied with whatever medium I'm on, as long as my role is good. I am playing the lead role in a TV show and I am happy with it, but I would love to explore other mediums depending too."
The happiness in Kinshuk's voice is evident as he talks about his marriage. He says, "My wife (Divya) and I are more friends than spouses. I'm extremely lucky to be in a good space both professionally and personally. I make it a point to not work for more than 12 hours. I pack up by 9 pm and then go home to spend some quality time with my family. Divya and I watch my show together, but otherwise we don't talk about work."
