Mita Vashisht has been associated with social work, especially with minors who are victims of human trafficking. Mita will be writing a book for Vitasta Publishers, an Indo-German publishing house.

A first person account, the book will encase her five-year experience with the minors. "Writing a book would be a different experience for me. I will be chronicling my experiences. The publishers have strictly told me to write it as a memoir," Mita says.

What kind of tone will the book have? Will there be takers for it? "The book would be a dark comedy. I have been told by the publishers that people need a good dose of laughter," she adds. Mita has already started writing the book and is likely to complete it in the next few months.

For the past five years, Mita has been associated with social work. She has visited brothels to interact with the innocent victims of the flesh trade. "Reaching out gives me a new reason to live. When I visited the brothels I realised that the worst victims are the minors. It was so sad to see little angels suffer without their fault," Mita adds.

Mita further adds, "The minors told me about their heart wrenching stories and that they were embarrassed with their life. I have conducted many workshops for them. Being associated with theatre, I have helped them change their body language by analysing their past and helped them to identify with self-help groups. I am happy some of them are well settled now," she says.

Since some of the girls are well-settled in their lives, their names will be changed in the book. "The names will be changed. I won't be using the pictures too, because it will defeat the purpose," she adds.

Mita's association with these minors has changed her as a person. "Prostitution and human trafficking is one of the biggest businesses around the world. It's true that it won't vanish, but we all should make a little effort to wipe it out," Mita says.
