As you all know the "Music and Melody" month is ON. In this month, popular songs of different eras will be played non stop on the IF radio, and guess what? It will play your favorite numbers , it will be playing your special requests so that, you can let your hair down, put on your dancing shoes and get on to having a rocking time…let it transport you to a world of music, fun , masti and melody.
Last week was dedicated to the 1970's. This week we will move on to the 1980's. The 1980's can be termed as the Disco era, where foot tappping disco numbers became the rage of the decade. Meaningful story of films paved way for total masala films. Heroes like Amitabh Bachchan , Rajesh Khanna, Dharmendra Rishi Kapoor etc stepped sideways of the reigning thrown to share space with Disco King Mithun Charkaraborty, Sanjay Dutt, Govinda, Kamal Hasan, Kumar Gaurav, Chunkey Pandey and so many more. Mohd Rafi , Kishore Kumar bid adieu and newer singers took over the reigns. In the midst of all these change overs there are some films and some songs that made it to our hearts and we still remember their magic. Some notable films of this era are : Silsila, Umrao Jaan, Ek Duje ke liye, Love story, Betaab, Nikaah, Masoom, Premrog, Saagar, Ram Teri Ganga Maili,Kudrat,Karz ,QSQT, Maine Pyar Kiya to name a few. This era has a few memorable songs of Kishore Kumar too.
On Saturday, 12th May, we will bring you, NON STOP hit songs of the 1980's starting at 10 PM IST. Isn't that great news? Well, there is yet another good news -you all get to choose what you want to hear.
All you have to do is, take a quick look at the following link and remember the 1980 hit movies and their hit songs, which many of you have grown up listening to.
Next just type out your favorite song title, name of movie and year of release on this thread and BINGO !!! Come Saturday, and they will be playing non stop on IF Radio.
