All Pakistani singers are very talented espeically "Wasi Affandi", but they have to work hard because other contestants are also very good πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰
Does anyone remember Junaid Sheikh? He was in drama "Karachi Highs" on ARY Digital. In this drama I think he wanted to be a singer and now he is in Saregamapa Challenge 2007. I hope his dream come true 😊

Mussarat Abbas (SaReGaMaPa contestant) to get a break in Bollywood

------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------

http://www.cybernoon.com/DisplayArti...hild=tvtrac k

Mahayuddh – literally?

The fifth episode of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa began with an opening song "Tainu leke main jaavanga" sung by Aditya Narayan. Ashaji complimented the four mentors in her own uncanny way saying, "It is really miraculous how the four mentors are sharing the same platform today." A surprise visit by Sunidhi Chauhan added flavor to the show.
The show started fancifully and nobody could have even guessed that they were about to witness a tiff between Himesh Reshammiya and exponent Asha Bhosle

A big verbal disagreement between Ashaji and Himesh regarding Mussarat Abbas, the Pakistani contestant, singing only Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's or Rafiji's songs lead to a controversy of sorts, arguments and displeasure amongst the mentors with Ashaji in the spot light.

Mussarat Abbas had been singing same kind of songs in every performance, to which Ashaji objected. She demanded that Abbas sing a different kind of song so as to fairly judge his versatility and talent. Himesh Reshammiya, his mentor, counter objected saying to it that when he knows he is good in this genre why should he try something different. Vishal and Shekhar also intervened for Himesh. As a result a tiff broke out between them. To offer a climax, Mussarat sang two lines of a song suggested by Ashaji. Himesh was so overwhelmed by his rendition that he promised to give him a break no matter what happens to him in this competition.

"To see two great icons fighting for you is not only over-whelming but confusing too. I hardly knew what I was supposed to do. I don't have a style as such. But inadvertently it happened that the songs I chose were from the same genre. The response I got from the audience, mentors and judges after I showed my singing capabilities was awe-inspiring. I will have to work harder now… with more responsibility to shoulder," maintained a mystified Mussarat.
Mussarat had lost all hopes and confidence because of this controversy. He was very much confused as if he sings different kind of songs; his performance would not be up to the mark and if he sings similar songs, his image would be tarnished in front of Ashaji.

But it looks as if he has a long way to go, especially with Himesh cheering for him!

thanks fiza for posting that...

I saw the epi yesterday and Himesh was totally rocking when he said all that abt Mussart making his mark on the world. Personally i never liked Himesh all that much but after yesterday it seems that he is truely conserned abt his students from SRGMP...either that or he's just a great actor πŸ˜†...
Mussarat is a great singer though and i hope he's in the top 5 at least! 😳

i totally agree with u..i thnk he is a great person..but sometimes he get carried away..lyke today..he said tht "rahet is making money in indian industry and rahet fateh ali voice is not orginal" i know he was trying to praise mussrat but this doesn't mean tht u talk so nasty about a singer lyke rahet... for goodness sake he is nusrat's nephew...himesh shud think twice before he say somehting lyke that... but overall i think himesh has been gone through many rough times in his life and he doesn't want mussrat to be out from this tournament 😳

well u knw Rahet's real voice isn't wht he sings in...i saw this concert of his once...he totally makes that NFK voice on purpose. His real voice is different. So, i guess Himesh had a point ther but he shouldn't have said it like that in front of the whole world.
Sometimes he can be a lil over enthusiastic lolz..
let's c wht happens. I can't believe there's so much drama on there and the show just started πŸ˜†

PAKISTANI SINGERS DISTRESSED OVER VEGETARIAN FOOD IN MUMBAI

Mumbai, June 3 (IANS) Five Pakistani contestants taking part in India's music talent-hunt show 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007' are fed up with the vegetarian food being served to them at their temporary residence in Mumbai. Culinary setbacks notwithstanding, the Pakistanis are having a blast in India.

'They are hardcore non-vegetarians and have to settle for green veggies since the cook is a Brahmin who refuses to cook any non-veg. Such is the frustration that they smuggled some eggs and cooked them when the cook was away,' a source from the show's team said.

The Pakistanis -- Wasi Effendi, Junaid Sheikh, Mussarrat Abbas, Sikander Ali and Amanat Ali -- had even conjured up a prank to get non-vegetarian food on their dinner table.

'They got really innovative,' the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said. 'They made up a story of how the channel had asked for a cookery competition and that the best person to cook non-veg will win! Every day is a struggle to think up of ways to eat the greens they have come to dislike!'

'The whole idea of the 'vishwa-yudh' (as the talent hunt is called) started with the idea that the 'sargam' and 'gayaki' is the same in India and Pakistan,' the show's creative head Payaol Patel said.

'While there are a lot of opportunities in India for talent to be showcased, in Pakistan, not many shows are available for participation.'

Now, when a few of the Pakistani contestants stand a good chance of making it to the top, is there a chance of Indians getting hostile about outsiders stealing the show?

No, says Patel. 'Today, in India, Pakistani singers have been accepted very well. Be it Junoon, Strings, Jal, Nazia Hassan, Hassan Jahangir, Ali Haider, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and the more recent Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

'So these guys definitely stand a very good chance. And as one of the mentors had said, 'Pak singers ka gala bohut sadha hota hai kyonki woh riyaaz bohut karte hai' There is absolutely no resentment between the contestants.

'There definitely is a lot of competition as participants of a common show. In fact a lot of Indian participants are trying to learn the Pakistani style ... mix of Sufi, Punjabi and folk.'

Patel does not believe that the Indian contestants are unfriendly to their Pakistani counterparts.

'The one thing I would like to mention is that the 'bahar ke log' theory is a figment of negative imagination. We are responsible for the borders that we have created. If it is true that we don't like things Pakistani, then songs like 'Juda Hoke Bhi', 'Mitwaa', and 'Jiya Dhadak Dhadak' would not have been such big hits,' he said.

As for who among the Pakistani contestants is the best, Patel shrugs: 'Difficult to say. All are very good. Mussarat is getting the best response from the audience. But the Indian and Pakistani contestants are very comfortable together and they stay together. In fact the cookery competition was a team effort!'

The five Pakistani team members have been touring Mumbai in their free time. They have visited the Gateway of India, Haji Ali, Siddhivinayak Temple, Juhu beach, Esselworld and a made special trip to savour Mumbai's very own vada pav.

'We had taken them on a special request by one of the Pakistanis, Wasi, who called it Aloo bandh,' laughs Patel.
