As the mercury soars, one can only think of leaving behind work to just chill out in some cool zones, be it the sandy beaches or the lofty mountains in India or unwind on international shores. The telly actors are so tied up in their rigorous schedules that taking a vacation is out of bounds for most of them.
Ashish Kapoor intends to go to Cannes in Southern France but he is combining work with vacation, as he puts it, "I am part of Indian Independent Film makers. I will be there for 11 days during the Cannes Film Festival." Otherwise, his memorable vacations have been those as a student. He recalls, "I was in a boarding school. During vacations, I would go home and go to my maternal place which is Nepal, to meet my grandparents. Kathmandu and Nepalganj have been my favourite places."
Shefali Jariwalla is perpetually on a holiday. She too combines work with holidays or as she puts it, they're paid vacations. "Whenever I am on stage shows abroad, I extend my stay. This year by the end of next month, I will be leaving for the US for a five city tour. Ideally I want to backpack to Egypt for a holiday all by myself." Since she is a beach person, she lived up during her Maldives trip recently, "I love snorkeling and the warm water fishes and even sharks are friendly when you walk under the sea." Another vacation which she has thoroughly enjoyed was the Koi Sumai islands in Thailand.
Screen vamp Ashwini Kalshekar says that she loves going up to the hills. "I am not for beaches but am a mountain person. I would prefer Dharamshala but London is my all-time favourite for the simple fact that my parents are there." For the actress who stays alone here, even a five-day break is sufficient to take off to be with her parents, brother, sister-in-law and niece. As for her memorable holiday, she says, "It was last year in London where I got mobbed more than in India since my character as Jigyasa in Kasamh Se and Nisha Paul in K Street Pali Hill were quite popular there."
Shweta Kawaatra and hubby Manav Gohil have packed their bags and left for the US of A for a good 12 days. Says Shweta, "There is a function happening in New York besides the stage shows where both of us will be performing." According to her, all their holidays have been memorable with no dull moments though New York and France are her favourite destinations.
