PLAYER OF THE MATCH

Fatima Sana

Fatima Sana | Player of the Match: Very excited, thanks to the team and the management. All credit goes to them. I believed in myself and backed myself to stay calm. We know Chamari is a good player, and we knew if we got the early wicket then we can make a good start.

Chamari Athapaththu: Firstly, want to congragulate Fatima Sana. She was really leading from the front. We struggled to chase 120, we have to adjust to these conditions,

What a splendid bowling performance this has been from Pakistan. It felt like they had an under par total bowling second at Sharjah, but Fatima Sana dismissed Chamari Athapaththu early and it was all downhill from there for Sri Lanka. The Asian champions got just three boundaries in the powerplay, losing a couple of wickets as well. Omaima Sohail and Nida Dar kept things tight, as the rate began to climb and Sri Lanka had no answers. Their batters lacked inventiveness as well, overplaying the sweep shot which made it easy for Pakistan to set fields. The pitch got slower which helped Pakistan as well who bowled 17 overs of spin. Sri Lanka were never really in the chase and in the end succumbed to a 31-run loss.

IN-W vs NZ-W: Dream11 Prediction Match 4, ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 On Cricketnmore

The Indian team, which has been longing for the title till now, will try to make a winning start to the tournament.

India Women (IND-W) will take on the New Zealand Women (NZ-W) in the fourth tie of the ongoing Womenโ€™s T20 World Cup 2024. The game will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on October 4, 7:30 PM. It will be a campaign opener for both teams in the prestigious womenโ€™s cricket biennial.

Harmanpreet Kaurโ€™s India Women have been through a commendable run of form in the last five T20Is they have played, except for a heartbreaking 8-wicket defeat against Sri Lanka Women (SL-W) in the Womenโ€™s Asia Cup 2024 Final. However, they registered four successive wins in the Womenโ€™s Asia Cup before this loss. Kaur-led side will aim to start their T20 World Cup campaign on a winning note.

Speaking of New Zealand, they have had a miserable run in the last five T20Is, losing all the games. It also includes a 0-3 clean-sweep defeat against Australia in the recently concluded three-match T20I series. Before that, the White Ferns had a tough match against Englishwomen in July earlier this year. Sophie Devine and Co. will look ahead to ending their losing streak and starting on a winning note in the T20 World Cup.
