5 pm local time: It's the Trans-Tasman rivalry on show tonight in Sharjah as Australia and New Zealand lock horns in vital Group 'A' clash. Both teams won their first match with ease - New Zealand demolished India by 58 runs while Australia trounced Sri Lanka by 6 wickets. This is an extremely tough and challenging group and as such wins over fellow favourites does count for a lot. Australia have the upper-hand when it comes to head-to-head contests between the two, but the pitch and the conditions in Sharjah could be a mitigating factor. Toss and team news coming up shortly...

Sophie Devine - We would have batted first, the surface tends to get slower, but we'll need to bowl well and restrict them to a low score. That match against India was massive, but it's just one game out of four. Everyone starts from scratch in World Cups, we would love to go one-up and take our chances. One change, Fran Jonas comes in place of Jess Kerr.

Alyssa Healy - We will bat first. I think the tournament has shown that it's difficult to chase, get a score and hope for the bowlers to deliver. A bit more grass on this wicket, hopefully, we can take advantage. Just one change - Grace Harris comes in for Darcie Brown, a like-for-like replacement

Australia Women have won the toss and have opted to bat

It's a bit cooler today at 36 degree celsius. Itr's the same pitch as yesterday - 73m straight boundary, 59 and 63m square boundaries. Spinners will definitely come into play at this venue, the bounce is lower as well. PLenty of grass which is even, so should hold the pitch together. There should be spin and 124 was chased down yesterday, reckon it'll be the same today as well, reckon Mel Jones and Pommie Mbangwa, in their pitch report

Australia have won the toss and chosen to bat first. Sharjah's surface tends to get slower as games go on, so that's no surprise. Sophie Devine says New Zealand would have batted first as well.

Teams

Australia: 1. Beth Mooney, 2 Alyssa Healey (wk)(capt.), 3 Georgia Wareham, 4 Ellyse Perry, 5 Ashleigh Gardner, 6 Phoebe Litchfield, 7 Grace Harris, 8 Tahlia McGrath, 9 Annabel Sutherland, 10 Sophie Molineux, 11 Megan Schutt

Both teams have made one change each. Fran Jonas comes into the NZ XI with her left-arm spin, owing to her effectiveness in the powerplay, says captain Devine. She replaces seamer Jess Kerr.

Allrounder Grace Harris enters Australia's XI, meanwhile. Fast bowler Darcie Brown makes way.
