Why not focus on "what had been done until now" and "what can we do" - as a government/ a society/ a group/an individual?' and then (SRK's most used words on the work-front:) "let's do".

I tell you why... for making changes, the needed decisions depend on interests and possibilities - and on the 'human factor' which generally encompasses all the flaws the decision-maker(s) has (have).

i am not the one advocating reservations. You guys are. So the question applies to you guys. I do my bit earning mucho dinero and on spending and contributing to the economy. I am not the mooching off it.smiley2

And why does one make chip shots picking lines selectively? Would be nice if one dealt with the entirety of someone's argumentssmiley2

Lol the discussions here. smiley36 Speechless really. My poor poor utter corrupt and capitalist Govt cannot handle corruption or misuse of the system that all undeserving people are making the Dalit cards, so let’s demand removing the system itself. Too much work otherwise. smiley13smiley19 Problem is these countrymen, dalits, they are getting those 2 Cr.s jobs the Govt is creating every year while generals are being left out. smiley19 I agree. 10x2 = 20 cr. generals should have been employed in last 10 yrs. Abolish reservation, we’d see flood in employment. smiley41smiley40

lol the argument here. When it comes to the governance of the country, leftie commies are fine with hiring reservation quota types and fcuking up the country with incompetence. But when it comes to their personal welfare, they would only hire the best they can afford, get themselves treated from the best they can, get themselves defended by the best officers, marry the best. Merit when it comes to their well-being, cuckoo socialism when it comes to country. Ab isko hypocrisy nahi bolenge toh kya?smiley2smiley36

I would never understand the constant need to diminish how deeply rooted casteism is in almost every institution. A quick survey of lead actors roles in Bollywood will show you that there are barely even any characters in films that belong outside the "Upper" caste.

One might not agree with affirmative action as a solution to casteism, but that doesn't mean you have to deny the issue itself.

so why don't you fund the movies you want? Why expect others to put their hard earned money on the kind of actors and characters you want? Would you bankroll a movie if you didn't expect it to do well? Then, why have those expectations from others?smiley2

and of course casteism is deeply rooted in our society. But that not mean we should go around providing scarce jobs and university seats to reservation types. Give them access to free education and work on that aspect.

Am I the only one who feels there's no way Kangana isn't a drug user? When I watched her in Fashion (my intro to her years back), her performance was too raw or realistic imo to be much acting. I always felt her Shonali was more or less Kangana's real self: unstable, provocative, and a rampant drug abuser.
