It is def one of the most-watched films of the year. Now I feel it would have genuinely done great in theatres.

Agreed, they really should have screened it in theaters. I wonder if they could still consider releasing it in theaters later this year so it can qualify for the main Filmfare Awards. But maybe they feel it's better to keep it for the OTT Filmfare where it will probably sweep the awards. Still, I was hoping Parineeti would get the Best Actress Filmfare at least once.
