Just came across a reel where the person mentioned there are no intervals for movie screenings outside India be it any language movie.

Is this true???

In Germany, we have the same intervals (15 min) for Indian movies and also for other movies longer than150 min. ... and before the start we have pub and trailers...usually, it's a quite good viewing experience.

When I started to go to the movies, there had been intervals for all movies during which some of the staff came into the theatre to offer icecream, sweets, chips and beverages.

Offerings are free?

Here sone food stall staff comes inside the theatre with menu card at pvr. And if ordered bring food to the seat.. sometimes it is annoying as they come during the movie and if ppl who order are sitting in the middle then staff person is in the middle to give them their food and hence blocking the movie view.

So it seems only usa doesn't have intervals.

No, of course one had to pay...and the staff left when the movie re-started (and no other service except the staff with trays).

In the US it also depends on the theater. In theaters that specialize just in Indian movies, then there are intervals. There was usually one interval about 10-15 minutes long and I specifically remember this theater would play AR Rahman's Ishq Dance from Jab Tak Hai Jaan to pass the time along with radio ads for Desi products and services.

However, regular American theaters that show some Indian films never have intervals. And tbh, most Indian movies now are so short in length and just about 2 hours that there's no real need for an interval. Gone are the days when the movies were 3-3.5 hours like K3G and Mohabbatein.

Stating something out of 'hate' doesn't make these statements facts (just saying).
