This guy promised it, announced it, got all the publicity from it but never acted on it.
Never even started it. Was that the idea all along?
So what's the right word to describe him? fraud, ass, jerk, huckster...

He did all this, deceived the villagers (and the public) for tax purposes
Btw the villagers collected money themselves and built the college
"In fact, in 2018, after almost 10 year ago, the people of Daulatpaur took it upon themselves and have now successfully established a degree college. The villagers decided to realise the dream on their own on a separate piece of land barely 500 metres away. A 40-year-old teacher from the village, Satyawan Shukla led the initiative with villagers and collected nearly Rs 60 lakh for the college. A 10,000 square metre land was donated by Shukla’s father and brother for the college and now, Daulatpur Degree College is a reality."
Aishwarya Aishwarya Bachchan Kanya Mahavidyalay is now Daulatpur Degree College
Acting aside - off screen, Sr AB is quite shady person.
Promises of celebrities (and also'random' people) are worth nothing - except if one can verify they had been kept

He was as much a failure in other ventures as he was successful as a movie/tv star
Suffered great losses in business, become bankrupt
Short lived political career got him into deep trouble... Remember bofors? But he was exonerated decades later
Maybe he's not shady, jut inept. Maybe he started with good intention but was unable to proceed due to sheer incompetence
He handed the project to Jayapradha()
He's inept AND insincere. Very hollow So the outcome makes him look shady. The proposed school was in the news years ago. I think there were clips of Aishwarya laying a foundation stone or something.
Amitji...there is the actor whose screen presence I like...and then there is the real-life-man... (actually, I think, when ShahRukh gives respect to Amitji, it's mainly to the actor he gives it...and to the elder Amitji is...)
