Loved the minions segment in the opening Ceremony. You should watch if you aren't watching.

The opening ceremony was good, but I am worried about the athletes. It was raining heavily and they got wet.

I am worried about the performers too, it was very windy and they were doing acrobatics in the air. Looked so dangerous.

The Hot Air Balloon cauldron is a novel idea.

The cauldron will be on the ground during the day, but at sunset each night, a balloon will raise it up into the sky, but it will remain tethered to the ground.

The whole Olympic opening ceremony outside a stadium is also something new Paris has tried and succeeded. They used the land marks very well. Especially Eiffel Tower which was originally built for only 20 years now standing tall for years and used as a main back drop for the opening ceremony.
