The engagement broke because Babita wanted Abhishek's inheritance money to be given to him before the marriage so that he's free of his parent's dominance and interference. She was trying to prevent the problems that occurred in her own life with Randhir Kapoor. Randhir was always under the Kapoor thumb and remained a flop and refused to move out of the Kapoor house as well. She was pretty much stuck doing everything herself since he ended up being incompetent.

Abhishek was a flop just like Randhir and everyone used to make fun of him not making it. So Babita demanded that he get his inheritance money to protect her daughter. The Bachchans bristled at that and I'm sure Abhishek also felt insulted being considered a flop and them not having any hopes in his future. It's vulgar to demand money in that way regardless of the reasons for doing it so it makes sense why the relationship fell apart. Prior to that, the Bachchans had already accepted Karisma and publicly announced their engagement. There are videos still floating around about them declaring it and kissing Karishma's forehead.

I wonder even if above happened - how this super personal and private talks between two families come out like this. to me no one knows what happened - it’s all talks and rumors as none of the involved party has confirmed saying or demanding anything like this.

There was a lot of speculation during that time.......and one of the main reasons people said was Karisma's career and the movies she did......anyways we can only guess.....from all that we read from the articles at that time......

bold- no, not becoz of revealing clothes, Her dance moves looks cringe n vulgar n graceless to me, some people call that sexy n graceful that's their opinion but it's my personal opinion but I don't call her escort for that
